It was a beautiful day, and I was kind of happy that I was going to spend the day with the girls. We planned to hit the saloon later in the day, do a little shopping, and eat out before going home. We all ate breakfast at Karen and Sasha's apartment and sat down a little to gossip before we entered our apartment with grace to prepare for our fun day. I freshened up and was searching for what to wear when Grace came into my room.

"Tilda, can I borrow your red jacket, please?" Grace asked, making faces at me.

"Sure," I said to her, smiling. I took out the red leather jacket and handed it over to her. She pecked me on the cheek and danced out of the room. Grace is always fun to be with. I laughed before turning to my closet to search for what to wear.

"Damn, looking for what to wear sometimes can be so stressful," I thought to myself. When I heard Sasha and Karen enter our apartment, I quickly took out a mini white gown, a blue jacket, and sneakers to go with it. I could hear them hurryi

Kieran drove on the tarred road for a while before he turned to some forest path, and that was when I began losing consciousness. I tried pretty hard to keep my eyes open, but it was all in vain. I could hear when the car came to a halt and he opened his door, closed it back, and came around to my side. He opened the door and lifted me gently in his arms. He placed me on a bed, and I rolled on the side before dozing off.I opened my eyes the next morning, and I couldn't figure out where I was; the room was unfamiliar. I turned to the right to see Kieran sitting on the chair and placing his head on the bed as he slept so soundly. I tried recalling what had happened and why he was sleeping like that, but I decided not to. I tried sitting up on the bed, but I woke him up instead."You are up already," he murmured while yawning. He placed his right hand on my forehead. I was surprised by his action, but I kept quiet. He nodded and pulled his hands away from my forehead."What happened to

Trying to avoid the thought of Tilda creeping in, I swore to find the bastard that cost me my joy. I was to castrate him and make an example of him for all cartels to learn. But each time I find myself alone, I keep struggling and trying everything possible to fight the urge to go bring her back. I remind myself over and over again that what happened was for her own safety."She is safer without me." This has been my national anthem since I let her go. I don't know if I did the right thing, but I knew I just wanted her to be safe.I find it so difficult to go back to the house; I had made use of my lodgings and avoided the mansion like it was hunted.

I was scared when the door gave way with a loud bang. Kieran never said anything about visitors; if it were to be a visitor, he would knock and not break down the door to gain entrance.I screamed my head off as the intruder ran past me and grabbed Kieran in a twinkle of an eye.He had pretty damn good reflexes, and he sure knew how to take his opponent unawares. He was about to land blows on Kieran when it dawned on me who the intruder was; his physique was unmistakable. With the look on his face, I knew he would kill Kieran this instant without batting an eye if I let him. I called out his name."Mace!" I yelled, still in disbelief that he was the intruder. I must be dreaming, I kept on thinking. What are you doing? I was a little confused at the whole scenario; no one had an idea of where I was; I hadn't even glanced at my phone since I got here yesterday; and of all people to find me, what was this bastard doing here?"Why the hell do you want to punch him? I asked him again, poin

I was speechless seeing him standing there like the devil in the night. I thought he had left when I asked him to; how could he when he is back to claim his child?"Fucking bastard," I called out."Just hear me out, Amorino, Mace blurted out before I could say another word. He was still as enchanting as ever, but I was just too pissed to dwell on it. How could he betray me with that blonde witch? He didn't look for me even a day when I left, yet he told me he had stupid feelings for me."Why are you here, Mace?" I asked him. My eyes were damn red with anger."I missed you, Amorino." His words pierced right through my heart. How dare he open his mouth to tell me he missed me after abandoning me for months?"Wow, that's new; you missed me but couldn't come sooner till you probably heard I was pregnant. I wonder how stupid you think I am, Mace.""Amori...""Stop calling me that; my name is Matilda," I yelled at him, cutting him off. He came closer to the bed, looking all sad, but I was j

The devil incarnate dogged the vase in a good show of quick reflexes. For a moment, he looked surprised, but quickly masked it and winked at me.I honestly didn't believe I just threw a vase at Mace. What was I thinking? What if he hadn't dodged? I could have killed him, and I would have been a murderer, and at worst, a whole Mafia would be after me. I must have gone crazy."Quick reflexes are a must in the Mafia, but I don't think you would want to make yourself a widow now, Tilda."I couldn't believe the Asshole's nerves. I was really angry, and I know that it usually leads to me lashing out, and the lash out lash out I did a few moments ago nearly killed him, so I ignored him and made my way to the fridge to grab a beer. I just wanted to calm my nerves down, but before I could open the beer can, Mace snatched it from me."Have you forgotten that pregnant women aren't supposed to drink any form of alcohol? Did you read the pamphlet at all?"And I snapped."Killing people and selling

One minute I was gunning for his head, and now he is comfortably lying down on my bed, waiting patiently for me to finish my food, and I'm actually eager to hear what he has to say.I couldn't stop myself from stealing glances at him. He seems hot, with his veins popping out of his hands."Get it together, woman," I muttered to myself. It was these kinds of thoughts that landed me in this mess in the first place. I dropped the spoon and pushed the food back a little."You don't want to eat anymore? He asked, sat up, and pushed my hair back gently."I can't eat anymore; I'm stuffed" I replied."Here, take some water." He lifted a glass of water from the bedside table and brought it close to my mouth. I took a few gulps, lifted my head from the cup, and he set the glass down."Do you want to lie down?""No, I'm okay," I said to him while waiting for him to tell me what was going on."Do you need anything else? "I was already losing my patience, and it was as though he was avoiding the t

The girls can be mischievous sometimes. I locked the door behind me, and they kept knocking on my door. The knocking died down after a while, and I was on the bed trying to recollect the events of the day."I killed someone, I thought to myself. It was kind of unbelievable; I didn't know what I was feeling, shaken or glad I did."He would have killed me if I didn't shoot him." I tried convincing myself so I could feel a little less bad.I was preparing for bed when I decided to check up on Mace. I stepped out of the room and went to the sitting room. I peered out of the window, and his car was still packed outside. I smiled and went back to the room to get some sleep. I went in under my cover. I placed my head on the pillow but couldn't sleep. I kept turning on the bed, hoping to doze off, but sleep eluded me.I jerked off the bed when I heard the sound of footsteps. I froze and quickly went for the gun, gently opening the top drawer on my bedside table. I got out the gun and waited f

MACE'S POVI had so many thoughts running through my mind as I raced up the stairs. I prayed so hard, but it wasn't what I was thinking. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to her.I was in disbelief looking at her standing like an avenger with a gun in her hands and Sarah lying down dead beneath her. I never thought Amorino could fire a gun, but here I am looking at the very impossible staring me in the face.I ran towards her, took the gun from her, and handed it over to Ray.I looked her over before hugging her. I was glad she was okay and even happier that we both saved our son together."Amorino, are you okay?" I asked, peering into her face."I'm fine; where is Vey?" she asked immediately, looking from me to Ray."Vey is fine," Dad replied. She quickly ran to him and grabbed him from his hands, hugging him so hard."Mammy!""Mammy is here, Vey," she said, smiling at him."Hold on, were you going to accept this crazy bitch proposal?" S

I let out a devilish grin because I knew what I had in store for that mad bitch. She had taken more than she could chew. If she had messed with me, I would be lenient, but you mess with my family, and I will send you to the afterlife in pieces."Where?" "Right under our nose."Tilda jumped off the bed while hurriedly heading to the door"Honey, where are you off to?" Mom asked her. "To get my son!" She screamed, her voice filled with pain."Amorino," I gently called her; she didn't answer, nor did she glance my way. I touched her shoulder, and she turned towards me."I promise to bring our son home; I give you my word," I reassured her, looking her in the eyes while patting her hair."Mace, I want to bash that weirdo's head in for causing me pain.""I will make her pay for all the pain and misery she has caused

MATILDA'S POV"Ma'am, is everything okay?" Martha asked immediately, she rushed into the sitting room. I sat down, mopping like a fool, still unable to process what was happening. I began feeling dizzy, and the whole room was spinning nonstop in my eyes."Ma'am," she called yet again, but I was slowly losing sense of my surroundings. I heard her beckoning on the guards to come, but before I knew it, I had lost consciousness.I opened my eyes, but the light was too bright. I shut my eyes, but I could hear Sergio and Mace arguing over God knows what. I managed to open my eyes, and I tried a little harder to keep them open as my eyes adjusted to the brightness of the light."Darling, you are awake?" I heard Ana's voice. I followed the voice only to see her seated on the chair next to the bed.I was a bit confused about where we were and what was going on."What happened to me?" I asked Ana. I tried getting up, but Ana held me down."Honey, please stay put." I

We prepared to leave for dinner. I came downstairs to find Lavey and her nanny all dressed up. She was on the phone when we came downstairs, but quickly put the phone away when we showed up."You guys ready?" I asked the nanny."Yes Ma'am" Mace took Lavey from the nanny, and we set out for dinner. Our little adventure in the shower delayed us a little bit; when we got to the Castillo's, the room was already packed. It was a lovely sight to behold; there were no outsiders in attendance, just family. Sergio, Dad, and Ray were having a hearty conversation while the ladies were laughing over something Kimberly said."There they are," Ana announced, all smiles. I hugged Kimberly while Mace was busy speaking with Pearl.

MATILDA'S POVI brought my hands to my mouth in awe; I couldn't believe my eyes. I never expected that he could be this sentimental. I guess being a father comes with some changes."It's beautiful," I said, smiling at him as he held me in his arms."I wanted to give our prince the best," he said proudly. It is the best nursery I have seen. There was a beautiful white baby bed at one end of the room. The wallpapers were so beautiful. I couldn't get my eyes off the drawing of a lion's head and the family motto written boldly on the wall."A lion?" I asked Mace while pointing at the drawing."Yes, Amorino, we need to always remind him that he is a hunter," Mace replied while kissing my hair."Of course," I said, rolling my eyes."Do you think Lavey would love it? I painted the room myself," he whispered.I was a bit surprised to hear he did all this by himself. I brought his hands close to my lips and kissed him."He will adore it," I said to him, and I went

I met Ray's mom in the hallway, all smiles."You made it, Mace, this way," she said, pointing to one of the rooms at the end of the hallway.I opened the door to see Mom seated next to Amorino on one side of the bed, while Grace sat on the other side."Ocean!" mom screamed. I went over to Amorino; she looked a bit worn out, but I was glad she was ok."My love here is our son," she said, holding our peanut wrapped in colorful clothing. I couldn't contain my joy when I s

MACE'S POVI rushed to the torture room, where I found Dad seated. I told one of our men to lead Dad into the room and away from Ricci's minions. I came closer to see a dead body lying on the floor. I guess one of Ricci's fools thought he could kill Dad seeing he was wounded. I went over to his side; he was losing a lot of blood. I got more worried. What pained me most was how to explain to Mom that Dad got hurt. Why would he take the bullet,"It should have been me," I kept whispering to myself.I fished out my phone from my pocket to call a doctor, but my dad wouldn't let me. He grabbed my hands, looking me straight in the eyes. I could tell the amount of pain he was in."Don't," he said."We should get you a doctor, dad.""I'm fine, ocean; the bullet just grazed my skin. Patch me up or get our men to patch me up, and I will be good as new." I was lost for words, looking at my old man asking to be patched up the old-fashioned way. I sometimes forget he

MACE'S POVI woke up the next morning to the beeping sound of my phone. I checked the time, and it was 5 a.m. I pulled my fingers that had been buried under my pillow out and got off the bed to prepare. I had some scores to settle this morning. It was time to rain blood on Ricci and his minions. I warned that fool that I might be my father's son, but I'm not my father. I was already prepared to leave, but I was checking out my outfit when Ray called to inform me that he was downstairs.I turned to the bed to find Amorino still soundly asleep. I didn't want to wake her, so I wrote a note on a piece of paper and placed it on the bedside table where she could easily find it before leaving. I came downstairs to see Ray sitting comfortably while munching the last bite of the cornflakes on his plate."Making yourself at home," I asked him."What can I do?" he replied, wearing a smirk."Besides, I need all the strength I could get, you know."I wasn't ready f
