'Are you anxious to know the results?'

I looked down at Sapphira when her voice penetrated through the mind link. We were walking hand-in-hand in the garden after going for a quick run.

She was still waiting for an answer and I didn't know what to say. Was I anxious? Not really... I just don't know how I would feel if the test results come out and it turns out I can now father a child.

It was absurd to think right? I've lived all my life with the stigma that I wouldn't be able to breed someone. So if I get some reports that say otherwise now, I just can't imagine...

"Not really," I shook my head. "I've always known all my life that I am impotent. It's been part of me. Now that there's a glimmer of hope. I honestly don't know how to feel."

She slipped her fingers into mine and pressed on tightly like she was trying to comfort me.

"Would it bother you if I can't really impregnate you?"

She paused at my question but only took a minute to respond. 'No... Besides, we've got Mateo.
