The voice that just spoke is not Serin's because obviously it is a guy's voice.
But hearing a different person instead of Serin on the other line doesn't dishearten Jeremy because he knows that voice. It's familiar.
"Good afternoon. May I speak with your boss?" Jeremy tried his best to hide his shaky voice.
"I'm sorry but may I know who this is first? We can't just transfer this call to our boss unless we confirm who is calling on the other line. I am very sorry, sir. But I'm only following an order."
That voice is definitely familiar. Jeremy can't help but flash a smile on his face.
He cleared his throat. "I understand. Thank you for answer
Looking at the huge frame displayed on the wall, he gulped out of growing nervousness. Then, he looked at the event proposal. Attached in it was a sample drawing. A peaceful mountain under the scattered bright afternoon sun where the dancing leaves and embracing wind were filled with consoling tranquility. This sample drawing would be used as an immense visual background on the four walls in the event hall for the grand opening of Venere Art Gallery & Studio. Serin thought of having that magnificent visual background, not only to complement the theme of the grand opening of Venere but more especially to turn that lovely and consoling view into a meaningful painting.
There was no response from Jeremy while putting on his black hoodie. How Jeremy usually dresses up makes him completely stand out among the CEOs. Normally, male CEOs would look formal in their properly groomed hair, expensive business suits and shoes. But Jeremy is totally different from them. While growing up, he never put too much attention to what he would wear. He's usually in his most comfy attire; shirt, jeans and sneakers. But despite his simplicity, he would still look charismatically appealing because he has good physique and obviously, he is effortlessly handsome.
"Surprise!!" Chris' excitement blasted while showing his best friends invitation cards. Ken and Jeremy could not take their eyes off the invitations that are in his hands. Yenny's smile widened. "Serin gave those invitations to us. She wants us to come to the grand opening of her art gallery and studio next month." Ken pulled out one invitation card from Chris' hand. THE GRAND OPENING OF VENERE IN CRIMSON HOTEL "So, this was the reason why you had to meet Yenny after our race? Why didn't you guys tell me that you would meet Serin? I wanted to see her, too." Ken looks disappointed.
"Wow! Mr. Christian Carter, you haven't changed until now. Is this how you welcomed a friend who just came back from London?" Gail is standing in front of the door. She has become more elegantly beautiful. "Why are you taking so long?" Ken asked, walking to the door. Ken suddenly appeared behind Chris. "Look who is here." Chris responded without a soul. As soon as Ken stood by the door, the sight of Gail flustered him. "Why are you here?" Chris and Ken's same question annoyed Gail in an instant. "Are you really my friends?? Aren't you too ungrateful that I
Gail suddenly feels annoyed. The way Jeremy called Yenny is driving her crazy. It is just a name but it is obvious that the guy's treatment towards Yenny is completely different from how it is towards her. Gail is getting extremely jealous. That's for sure. She might not be sure if Yenny still likes Jeremy but how the guy is treating her with gentleness is sending her over the edge. "Y..Yes, Sir Jeremy?" Yenny answered timidly. Sitting in front of Yenny, Jeremy leaned forward to face her a lot closer. "Look at me." He said, looking at Yenny. Even though Yenny is
Out of sudden nervousness, Gail gulped. She got a bad feeling about it. "What truth??" She asked, intently looking at him. Dave exchanged intent stares with her. "That was a lie. On that day, I never showed up before Yenny. I lied when I told you that I had convinced her not to return to Marionne City anymore." "You lied to me????" Gail's anger roared inside the office. "You heard me right." Dave rose up and sat on the couch. "Now that I already told you the truth, you can leave. You're disturbing me at this hour." Gail wants to explode in both anger and frustration. But she chose to compose herself. Her deep sighs filled the office room
With great surprise, Gail's body almost froze. Her heart began to pound nervously. Right before her trembling eyes, she can clearly see that it is really Serin. She can't be mistaken. Serin, who is with the two guys and two girls, is crossing the road. "What the hell are you doing here???" She uttered angrily, eyes fixed on the girl she hates to see. Gail wants to cuss at Serin face to face. The sight of her is infuriating her so much. Her hateful eyes are following Serin as they are walking to Feron Park on the other side of the road. She can't take her eyes off her despite the surging hate, annoyance and frustration in her hear
There is a moment of silence. 'Boss? That cheap girl?' Gail can't believe her ears. Kaye placed a calling card on the table. "Venere is a five-minute walk from here. And that art gallery and studio is owned by Ma'am Serin." The sight of the calling card on the table infuriated Gail more. "I never thought that you would come this far, Serin. You were just a homeless housemaid before." Gail's cruel insult dumbfounded Serin's colleagues. They have never met someone like her, annoying and rude. "Did your boss tell you about that? If not, I'm so sorry. Serin's shameful past
“Serin spoke in her sleep twice and during those moments, I vanished in the palace and appeared here in this present time. She must be wandering in her dreams, that’s what I am thinking right now.”Whirling emotions, Jeremy was having the same thoughts. Events that involved Serin’s dreams suddenly reappeared in his clear memory. On the night of his 18th birthday, he found Serin on Desf Road. He heard her call him Heron and when he was about to carry him, she longingly touched his face and painfully uttered, “Heron, you’re alive. I’m glad you’re alive.” Those were the same exact words that came out from her in her sleep before Sodon vanished in the past and was brought here in this present time.Jeremy could also remember the day he and Serin had a heated confrontation just because she went out of his condo unit without telling him. When they clashed for the first time, while her
When Jeremy began to notice that Dave had been treating him completely different from how he used to, he already knew why. Slowly getting closer to Serin, Dave had been falling for Serin. And with the fact that Jeremy was the one who found her on Desf Road and rescued her on that rainy night, Dave’s jealousy started to consume him. That was what Jeremy thought, but the painful truth was, Dave had silently hated him even before Serin came to his life.As his condition got horribly worse, Dave buried himself in a deeper state of misery. Since he fell terribly ill the day after his mom passed away, he had become miserably hopeless. He had been tortured and haunted by his own demons in his agitated mind. His own misery completely darkened his life. And the only one who could help him see even a spot of light was his younger brother. In his teenage years, Jeremy had to carry the heaviest weight on his shoulders. If it’s not for Dave, he could h
Criminal, that torturing word. The moment Dave uttered that word, his heart agonizingly broke. His confession, in an instant, took him to that gruesome and haunting night when he was nothing but a horrible monster.Year 2009, the night of his younger brother’s 14th birthday when he thought that his mom was busy in the kitchen preparing for the surprise birthday dinner for Jeremy. While he was in his room, suddenly the door opened.Dave’s body froze when he got caught using illegal drugs. With his mom’s widened eyes, both of them got completely shocked. His extreme nervousness made him throw the drugs in a rush, hands were quivering.Total gloom darkened Leona Sean’s face. Her steps towards her son got heavier. Her beautiful world fell apart.“W..Will you.. turn me in.. to the p..police.. this time?” Dave fearfully asked with his trembling voice and bloody red eyes.Leona
That phone call, in an instant, darkened his bright day. He was sure who was on the other line. That voice, he knew it.That was him, the old man whom he ran into Campbell Park across Tiffany Blue the night when odd occurrences terribly knocked him with shocking terror and absurd affliction. That was nine years ago but Jeremy could still remember him as clear as day. But that was not the first and last time their paths crossed.Five years ago, that old man suddenly showed up on Desf Road and gave him the black silk thread bracelet. And even until now, how that old man quickly disppeared before his sight on that endless and empty road still bothered him. When that old man called him Heron from the other line, for the first time in so many years, that name began to haunt him again. Like flashes of lightning that suddenly disturbed the tranquil dark sky, strikes of overwhelming fear started to frighten him.Jeremy sped up.
Serin suddenly woke up. That scenario in her dream was filled with strange familiarity. That mountain. That sword. That guy. Those men on horses. That old man.She could not help but feel like she had already seen them before, not in her dreams but in real life.In haste, she left the bed and walked straight to the closet. As soon as she opened it, she got her black dress.Looking at the embroidered name on the back collar, she felt sudden pain. She did have a name but her identity had remained mysterious. Her memory was still completely empty.Eyes locked on her black
'I'm glad that you're finally here.. right next to me.' It was like a sweet tune to her heart. Serin flashed a warm smile. The pouring rain became a beautiful shower in her teary eyes.No more hesitation, Jeremy fearlessly faced her. The girl, who was standing before him, had given him unfeigned strength during his silent battles. He had yearned for her which felt like forever. Every day and every night, he had waited for this moment. If it's just a dream, he did not want to wake up. But Jeremy was not dreaming, it's real. He was looking into Serin's beautiful eyes."Welcome back. It's nice to see you again." He was floating in a surge of profound happiness. Words alone could not describe what he was feeling at the moment.Serin exchanged tearful smiles with him. Her heart was also exclaiming in unexplainable delight. All those shared moments with him flashed back. From the first time their longing eyes met to the saddest day they p

Five years ago."I will send you the exact address, sir." A male voice said on the other line."You have done such a great job. I will call you if I need something. Thank you." Dave ended the phone call. Nervousness began to tremble him while hurrying downstairs.Carl, the private detective that he had hired, managed to find Yenny in just four weeks. As soon as he walked past the living room, someone, who was comfortably sitting on the luxuriously-looking sofa, caught his eyes. He stopped walking. 'What is she doing here?'"Hi, Dave!" Gail greeted him. She rose up from sitting and walked to where he was standing. She was displaying her beautiful smile. "Where are you going? You must be in a rush.""What brings you here?" He asked coldly."You still have the courage to show up this house after you caused a scene here a month ago?" Jeremy showed up. He was talking about the nig
Gail simpered. "You think you can fool me??" Gail thought that Dave was just fooling around to tease her since he already knew that she had feelings for Jeremy."What if she really likes my brother, will you do something?""I won't do anything because that's not true and that will never happen." There was certainty in her voice. "Since when did you become fond of playing jokes on someone? She let out a heavy sigh. "Driving for almost three hours now must bore you. If boredom is killing you, play some music. Stop spitting non-sense.""What will I get if I play a joke on you?" He sounded so serious while his eyes were focused on driving.Gail looked at him. How his face plastered seriousness could tell that he was no longer teasing her. That's what Gail felt but the truth was, Dave was only acting. He had to fake seriousness in his voice and expression to persuade her that he was telling the truth.
