"You missed Serin, didn't you?"
Ms. An blurting out the truth all of a sudden flustered Jeremy.
"I'm sure everyone felt the same." He replied without looking at Ms. An.
"You're right, Jeremy. When she moved to Paris, all of us here missed her so much. That's why when she surprised us with a visit here a few weeks ago, we were really happy." She looked at Jeremy, smiling. "I'm sure your family must have felt a lot happier."
'Yes, especially me.' He responded in the back of his mind.
"Since she returned here, she has been getting a lot prettier. What do you think?"
A shy smile
Looking at Serin, Jeremy feels extremely sorry. He totally ignored and avoided her. What he had done surely affected her. According to the doctor, she fainted due to exhaustion and lack of sleep. She didn't only overwork to distract herself because worse was, she had trouble sleeping. "I'm sorry, Serin.. I'm really sorry.." Brokenhearted, he got his phone and reread the message Serin sent this morning. 'You can always lean on me.' Tears fell. The screen before his misty eyes instantly becomes blurry. He is deeply hurting because of the pain he has caused her. Sad to say, he will keep hurting her. That's the tormenting part of helping Serin get her memory back.
"Serin started to see your past as Jeremy Sean in her dreams. I should not show up before her. Because if I do, she might have a clear recall of the painful memory that devastated you on the night of your 14th birthday. Your mom's.." Tragic death. That's what Sodon was supposed to say but he couldn't utter those words. Chris and Ken glanced at their best friend. They can really tell that Jeremy is hurting at the moment because he still carries such a tormenting memory of his mom's painful death. "I'm sorry for bringing up your cruel past. You're hurting because of me." "Don't say that, Sodon. Why are you sorry? Because of what you said? I won't deny that I'm in pain at this moment but that doesn'
The old man smiled back at him. "I'm glad to see you again." "Do you r..remember me?" Francis asked. His voice began to sound shaky. Sodon nodded in response. "You were with Serin when I ran into her a few weeks ago. I'm sure you're completely shocked and frightened to see me again." "W..What do you m..mean, sir??" The old man can't look Francis in the eye. "That day.. You saw me suddenly appear in the middle of the road, didn't you?" Extremely sickening shock consumed Francis. Pale-faced, he can no longer conceal what has been truly feeling. He is overly flustered. He can't utter a single word. Dizziness seems to knock him
"My head's gonna explode now." Hana uttered. While his colleagues are still trying to figure out how Jeremy got to know that Serin is in the hospital, Glenn has been doing his best to suppress his smile and act like he is also clueless. Even though he didn't plan to tease the guys, he still ended up doing it the moment Sam asked who's left with Serin in the hospital. The mischievous gleam in his eyes can tell that he is really having fun making his colleagues squeeze their brains just to get a clear answer to Sam's question. "Sir?!" "Why?" Glenn asked, puzzled. "I just saw that!" "Saw what??" The girl hissed. "When I glanced at you, I saw you keep a straight face." A muted laugh came out from Glenn and then he raised his two hands, as if he's surrendering. "Okay, okay.. I will tell you now." All eyes are intently fixated on Glenn. Those stares can clearly tell that they are anticipating what the guy is about to say. "It was actually Mr. Jeremy Sean who rushed Serin to
There has been total silence in the car. “Are you okay?” Serin uttering the question all of a sudden snapped Francis out of his deep thoughts. He glanced at her. “Why did you ask?” “You’ve been quiet, that’s why..” “Ah.. well.. um..” “Is something bothering you? You can tell me–” A blasting ringing sound suddenly cut Serin in. She immediately answered the call. And while she is on the phone, Francis can’t help but thank whoever is on the other line. He let out a discreet sigh. He is troubled by what he just heard from Serin. That he has been really quiet since they left the hospital. The Francis everyone knows is not a quiet person. Besides, he is the type who keeps talking whenever he is driving. ‘This isn’t right.’ He spoke in his head. Now that he already knows the unimaginable truth behind the existence of Sodon, Serin and Jeremy in this transcending time, he needs to be really mindful of his words and actions. With his eyes locked on the road, he should come up with
Serin plastered a big smile on her face the moment she saw the one who had just called her name. It’s Yenny. The girl in her plain white shirt and blue straight cut jeans hastened her steps towards Serin. And as she stood by her, she reached for her hands. “When did you get discharged?” “Just a while ago..” Serin replied, smiling. Yenny released a sigh of relief. “I’m glad that you seem fine now but..” She paused and intently scanned Serin up and down. “Are you sure you no longer need to stay in the hospital to fully recover?” “Don’t worry, I’m totally okay now.” “That’s good to hear then..” “By the way, have you eaten breakfast? Join us.” “Oh, I’m sorry, Serin but.. I can’t.” "I see. Your class must be early..” Yenny shook her head. “Actually, I don’t have any classes today.” “Really? Then why can’t you join us for breakfast?” “I’m gonna have an interview here.. that’s why.” “Another part-time job?” Shyly, Yenny nodded. “What’s with that response?” Serin asked but fo
Flustered, Dave stopped walking. From where he is, he can see that the one who just yelled is completely angry at the girl standing before him. With the discomforting situation between the two, Dave can’t walk past them so he remains still while waiting for them to end their heated confrontation. “But sir.. I had to finish my exam before coming here that’s why--” “Shut up!!!” The man cut the girl in. He is totally burning with anger. “Didn’t you hear what I just told you?? We don’t need you here!! Get lost!!!” His fury blasted in the spacious hallway. As the man turned his back, the girl suddenly grabbed him by his arm and stopped him from leaving. Almost teary-eyed, she boldly faced him. “Sir, didn’t I inform you that I would be late? You even told me that it’s okay. I can show you our conversation here on my phone.” Clenching his jaw, he angrily took off the girl’s hands off his arm and shot her with a fiery glare. “I can change my mind whenever I want. I’m the boss here! So shu
“Yenny??” Hearing her name from the one who just spoke, she is sure that the voice is not Dave’s. In a rush, she opened her eyes. No more Dave standing next to her. He’s gone. “Hello? Ms. Yenny Collins??” Her racing heart just a while ago is now filled with uneasiness. She took a deep breath and released it. Then she turned around. Standing before her is Chris displaying a puzzled look on his face. “What are you doing here??? I thought you’re not gonna come??” Yenny faked a smile. “I finished my exam earlier than expected, so I came here since I don’t have anything to do for the rest of the day.” “Really??” She nodded without looking at Chris. ‘She’s not telling the truth.’ The guy thought to himself because he could tell that Yenny’s been avoiding meeting eyes with him. “If you really intended to attend the grand opening of Venere, you would have called Serin or me to inform that you’re coming.” She cleared her throat. “Well.. I didn’t inform you guys because I wanted
