~ Axel ~
I ended our call after that, tucked my phone inside my pants pocket and faced my beautiful guest.
“Rayna.” My attention landed on her attire, adoring how she looked like a bride for me. She wore white. The very color when dragons and their mates undergo a mate ritual. Was this a vision for the future? My mind happily wondered.
‘I hope so. Damn, I really hope so.’
“I’m sorry, Mr. Windstorm, I didn’t know you were...uh...in the middle of a call. I thought you were just—”
“Standing?” I finished, cocking a brow.
“Ah, yes,” she cleared her throat and quickly scanned me from head to foot. Like many times before, she tried to hide her blush, but like always, I noticed it with my keen eyes.
“Rayna,” I approached her and reached for her right hand. “I’m glad you’re here. Welcome to
~ Axel ~“Can’t I have dinner with my personal bodyguard?” I asked, disregarding the list of reasons why I wanted to dine with her tonight.“Well, yes, you can, but this...” Rayna answered and gestured to the table set-up in front of us. “And this...” Then she gestured to my spacious balcony with her hands.I understood what she meant immediately.“You’re flustered. Are you saying that this whole set-up is too romantic?”“Y-yes.” Her eyelashes fluttered when she answered. My mouth stretched into a grin. “Good. I was going for it.”“Well, um...anyway,” —her eyes shifted to anywhere but me—”I figured you have questions...questions about my time with the werewolves, so ask away, Sir.”What a smooth way for her to change the subject. I didn’t mind though. Wooing her could be do
~ Rayna ~The respectful thing to do was to ring Mr. Windstorm's doorbell to inform him I arrived; however, I stood agape in the vestibule, seeing only a flat control panel beside the double doors and no doorbell. It should be easy ringing one, but his system was so sophisticated a mere big, red button was overlooked. It was a good thing I recalled what Mrs. G said: that I could have access to all entrance doors including Mr. Windstorm's, so I tried this instead.Immediately after the scanner registered my thumbprint, I was allowed in. The eight-feet-tall double oak doors opened, and my mouth dropped at the sight ahead of me. Like my suite, Mr. Windstorm's room was full of glass to take advantage of the magnificent view. However, the interior design was worthy of attention too.
~ Rayna ~Mr. Windstorm always had mesmerizing green-violet eyes, but now, it was tainted with a...glow? Some spikes of gold on the irises? It was almost like I was looking at a faraway nebula. I couldn’t exactly be sure what it was. After hearing my words, he seemed to snap out of his anger and quickly released me. He spun around, faced the railing and gave me his back.“This is nothing... Forget about it. You may go, Rayna. Return to your room now,” he ordered while holding his forehead. He didn’t even care to look at me.“Should I call for a doctor?” I hesitantly left my seat. I was thoroughly worried for him, but at the same time, I didn’t exactly know what to do or what to feel about this strange situation we were in.“No. Just go,” he answered in a lowered, but controlled voice. No matter how I wanted to, I stopped myself from touching his rigid back.
~ Rayna ~Fangs...Diamond eyes...Fangs...Diamond eyes.Fangs.Diamond. Eyes.Dragon.I had come to terms about the fangs part when I woke up in my bed—to which I failed to recall getting in, and in my cotton nightdress to which I couldn't remember actually wearing.By Hollywood standards, dragons have incredibly large teeth, but what I saw last night was terrifyingly gigantic. And it was connected to a head and a body that was a hundred times more. That said, my mind cried out, 'A dream!'Because I was certain dragons like what I saw last night didn't exist. Werewolves, yes, but dragons? And that big? It couldn't possibly. But as I left my bedroom to be welcomed by the morning light, walked straight to the living room balcony, and checked the railing where I clearly remembered its claws perched, I realized I was wrong. Totally wrong. The steel was tented to the degree where
~ Rayna ~ETA was fifteen minutes from our building to his estate at Breezy Point. The specific location was already registered on the copter's system, so I didn't do much work except stabilize it and ensure that no bird—or dragon—would run over it midair. The thought of it was laughable and well, absurd, but after what I experienced last night, I wanted to be cautious. There was no harm in doing so. However, deep inside me, I wanted not to recognize its existence. Knowing that a werewolf existed was enough. I couldn't bare it if a dragon shares this world too.Our flight, in the majority, was silent. Well, that was for the first five minutes. After that, my boss spoke, and it was all about last night."I apologize for my rude behavior last night, Rayna. I hope that didn't discourage you."‘Discourage me?’ What an odd way to put it."No worries, Mr. Windstorm," I answered while my attent
~ Rayna ~Every detail inside the room was expensive-looking as expected; from the walls, to the ceiling, down to the carpet. As opposed to my suite in OWTC, this one had a fireplace in the living room, with an antique-looking mantel I could only see in the movies. Like my first bedroom, my sleeping area here had a balcony, but instead of the city, it was overlooking the ocean and the hillside. It was a million dollar view.Back against the steel and glass railing, I watched the trees past the manicured garden below me. They were tall, but not that tall to obstruct the beautiful view of the beach shore and the ocean kilometers away. This here...this view here, I agree, money could only buy.Mr. Windstorm's Breezy Point estate gave off a certain vibe
~ Rayna ~The dream started off as a simple scene where the twin healers Lady Tara and Lady Sierra taught me how to heal using the energy in my hand. I was a simple human, with clearly no magic within me, but my palm felt warm and a neon yellow glow emitted as I brought them together close to an almost lifeless half-humanoid, half-wolf creature—a lycan as per the twins—with fur the blackest of black. It was lying on the ground with its head pillowed by dried leaves, so frail looking despite how monstrous it appeared.‘Focus, luna,’ Lady Tara said while looking at me with gravity.‘Luna?’ That is a weird name to call me, I thought to myself. The glow brightened further when I did as she said, staring at the lycan even more and summoning an even greater energy from my hand. Finally, it jerked a little, showing that my healing was taking effect.“Good, that’s it, give your healing energy
~ Rayna ~I was ready to meet it the second time: witness its jaw-dropping size, watch the grandeur of its wings and the deadliness of its scales. But I wasn’t prepared to feel this minute again, like a chick to an adult human... I felt so vulnerable as it showed its entire form, first its head, then the rest of its pound-for-pound muscles, and gazed down on me.“It is you!” I gasped as my greens met its diamond ones. “You were in my visions!”“Hello Rayna...”I staggered backward as it spoke to me loud and clear in my mind. I was certain now. The voice maybe guttural and edgy—a typical for a beast—but it had a ring of familiarity in it.“Dragons are truly real...” I muttered to myself, finally stamping this idea in my head. I didn’t mean for it to sound like a question, but it answered:“Like werewolves, yes.”Good heavens
AxelIt didn't take long before trouble appeared on King Raxelan's mountain, literally. As soon as he transported to his throne hall, a guard stationed at the watchtowers of Mount Ras Zubayr speeded towards him, knelt on the floor, and cried out, "My King! Werewolves and lycans spotted near Lake Bahrmoris and around the mountain. There are hundreds of thousands of them!"With the barrier he created, he was confident they couldn't easily find their hideout, but this much population of these mangy creatures was an issue. Power by numbers, as the old saying goes. King Raxelan hadn't known yet what they were capable of, what abilities they have, but he knew they could find a way through the barrier and attack them.'Good then,' he thought out loud. 'Saves me the energy to go to the capital city and destroy them.'The fact that they charged first only stamped his idea that they truly wanted war. It didn't matter what their reason
AxelKing Raxelan had rule over everything just like I do. He decides for his people and no one contests it. He had freedom and strength beyond question. He was above all as he should be as the dragon king. However, there was always one topic which he had to consult his people with. The mating. It was tradition and an absolute word that the dragon council needed inputs to.It would have been easy once mated. After all, no one argues who destiny pairs us with. But in King Raxelan's case, his mating with Herneith caused a serious problem with the council. They knew she was human, but moreover, they found out she was also mated to Alpha Eckon.'How the actual hell did they know about this?'my mind exclaimed as I played out King Raxelan's life again.Inside his throne hall filled with incense and entitled lords, he was about to burst this same question to them, but decided not to. - Eros - My lycan form emerged as soon as I jumped out of my seat. Bones crunched. Black fur grew at terrifying speed. Deadly claws dug deep on the marbled walls and floors of my pack house, and even the roofs of my subordinates as I leaped from one building to the next. It was probably the fastest run I had since the day I existed in this world—or Alpha Eckon's, for that matter. He didn't have the ability to teleport like I do, but his superior agility could almost be likened to teleportation. I reached the far edge of Mount Ras Zubayr in less than a minute. I sensed Herneith already underwater. Fuck. And heard her faint heartbeat. Without delay, I jumped in. My lungs expanded as I locked the oxygen inside. Bubbles surrounded me as my eyes adjusted to
~ Rayna ~"Saphira!"I wanted to run to her side, but the blood and the looming danger in front of me made me pause. My sights flew to the killer and my pupils constricted, realizing I recognized the man."Sakros!" I shouted. "Why?! Why are you doing this?"Dressed in the same knight armor of our capital, Sakros, the main guard of my father's special army, looked every bit like a human, but I sensed something odd in him, and I confirmed it after seeing his arms all wrapped up in dark red scales and his hands turned into claws.A dragon? He is also a dragon in a human disguise? He cocked his head to the side, gave me a grin, and he pulled his claw out of Saphira's abdomen like he was simply gutting out the intestines of an animal.I screamed inwardly at the sight when she fell to the ground. Her eyes glassy and lifeless and her mouth and nose trickling with blood."It is nothing personal, Princess Herneith.
~ Rayna ~Herneith's stay inside King Raxelan's chamber reached two days. It was a stay filled with nothing but bliss and passion. He treated her like a woman equal to him. He made her ascend many times in heaven, made her a goddess of sex and moans. It was a give and take relationship, plus more. There was nothing else in her mind except him, and he showered his attention on her in a similar manner. Not once did the thought of her friends, Una and Asiri, crossed her mind, or her family whom she left in the capital, or her duties as the oracle, or her bond with King Eckon.Nothing else mattered. Just the two of them. It was similar as to when Herneith bonded with Alpha Eckon. It was as if time stood still. For me, it was like falling in love with Axel all over again, and making love with him instead of King Raxelan. It was like a beautiful dream I didn't want to wake.Herneith hadn't expected she'd be mated to two men—k
~ Axel ~"Ra...xelan..." she whimpered as we laved her neck.A deep hum of approval vibrated our chest. "Yes, Herneith. That is good. Say my name again, or better yet, scream it for me."Using our power of teleportation, we appeared in another area inside the dragon mountain where no human had ever stepped foot. It was King Raxelan's chamber, specifically. There wasn't much in terms of furniture. There was a chair and a table in one corner, and a massive bed that could fit ten people in the center. The circular floor was made of marble. It was the size of a basketball court. Past its edges, a chasm awaited, decorated by waterfalls. There were slabs of rocks towering all the way into the ceiling—a ceiling where it showed a gaping hole. The
~ Axel ~Being inside the body and mind of my ancestor felt weird. Lady Kasa said we would travel back in time to see what happened before the war between the dragons and werewolves started, but I didn't expect she meant it like this: be in one body with my ancestor.I could literally feel everything King Raxelan felt and saw everything he saw.His dragon strength was undeniable. It was bursting out of his skin...out of his scales. It was the same as mine. I was a dragon king, after all. Only that his was considered the first of the first. The beginning of all dragon powers.Mount Ras Zabayr was his lair. His headquarters. But his people—our people—were scattered across the many continents of the ea
~ Rayna ~In the next second, something golden appeared in the sky. Its appearance was swift that before I could register what it was, I heard the pained screams of the two bandits.I looked down and saw their severed torsos thrown across the forest floor. My breath was caught in my throat. What just happened? My mind screamed. Then a noticed a movement from behind me. Spinning around, I saw a golden monster crouching down, with my reflection inside its diamond eyes.Heaven knows how much I wanted to escape, but instead of doing just that, I was frozen on the spot.“Hmmm...” A low growl rumbled from deep within its chest. In Herneith’s point of view, this was her first time seeing such a beast, so concentrated fear gripped
~ Rayna ~As the oracle and healer of the Kingdom of Eckhathnaten, or now called Ancient Egypt in the modern world, a lot was expected of me. One of these expectations was to fulfill the dance offering for the Sun God, Ra, in his temple on top of Mount Ras Zubayr.Together with my maids, we rode the covered chariot of my father. Its walls were gilded and carved with the many exploits of our family—or Herneith’s family, for that matter. Six wheels were attached to it and were pulled by four mammoths.Mammoths. Huh.I never expected of a day I’d get to see a mammoth in real life. But then again, so were dragons and werewolves. We had traveled for four hours already, leaving the capital city since dawn broke. I was
