GODFREY'S POV.

I was out practicing with some other men, holding a long wooden stick for training. We had been practicing for some time, working on our moves, everyone just wanted to get ready for the test.

“Godfrey,” gamma Israel called, I raised my head to his direction, Gamma Israel was coming toward me. I stopped and looked at him, waiting for him to speak.

He stopped in my front. “Beta Nathan wants to see you, it's very important, you should go and see him now, or he would get angry.”

I was out training with some of the other men, practicing different moves with a wooden stick. Just as I was getting into a rhythm, I saw Gamma Israel heading over, a serious look on his face. I lowered my stick and waited for him.

I nodded. “Understood.” I dropped the stick on the ground and turned to leave.

What does Beta Nathan want to discuss with me? I hope he is not planning to do anything that could kill me or get me in trouble?

Just as I neared his office, I ran into Joana. She looked surpri

GEORGINA'S POV. I jerked up from my chair my fist clenched in anger, I can't believe Godfrey would choose to fight that monster. Thomas was a proud man, that I was well aware of, but why was he willing to sacrifice Godfrey's life for some silly games? Beta Nathan must have done this, he is surely the cause of this. He falsely praised Godfrey for the talent…what talent? Godfrey can't even kill a mouse right now…well he did kill the wolf that attacked me the other time but Godfrey can't fight that monster. Could this be the revenge Nathan spoke about?“Well why don't you go and keep practicing,” Thomas laughed. Godfrey bowed one last time before he walked out. Beta Nathan quietly bowed to the king and turned to me. “My lady, you have indeed been a blessing to this kingdom, I must say that I have a lot to learn from you,” he said with a sly smile before bowing his head in respect.“Yes, I am very lucky to have her,” Thomas added. “And it is my regret that I have someone as despica

GODFREY'S POV. “Fuck,” I screamed as soon as I got to my room. What the hell just happened? What in the world just happened to me? Did I just agree to fight a monster to prove my innocence? Is this how far Beta Nathan wants to go just to destroy me? Is this because I killed his favorite sentinel or was it something more? Was it because of the queen? I am not even part of the queen's men…at least not fully. “What am I going to do?” I asked rhetorically burying my face in my palm. It is definitely not too late to consider running away. What have I gotten myself into? I rushed to my bed, picking up the few clothes I had, I had to make a run for it. David walked in, his eyes widened like he had just seen a ghost. “What are you doing?” He asked still standing by the door. “Me?” I asked, sweat dripping off my face. “what are you talking about?”“Should I be worried about the fact that you are acting like there are more than just the two of us here or I should be scared or something th

I knew about his affair and I was already way over it, could it be that his boldness to be fucking his mistress in broad daylight while he sent Godfrey to an early grave? Or was it his lack of patience that he was just with me a couple of minutes ago, who was I kidding? He left Pamela's party to go fuck his mistress. “Of course,” he responded, turning to her. “Ashley, please excuse us for a moment.”“Yes my king,” she bows and turns to me. “My queen, would you need something?” She asked. I bit my lips to stop myself from responding rudely. “I'm fine, I just want to talk to the king.”“Okay,” she smiled walking out. Joana tugged my gown, I glanced at her over my shoulder. “Do you want me to stay?” She whispered. I shook my head. “Unfortunately I would be fine.”She nodded without saying another word she walked out. I waited till I heard the door

GEORGINA'S POV. “Wait,” my jaws dropped open in shock, as I shook my head in disbelief. What was Godfrey talking about? Was my ears failing me or did Godfrey actually say that he was participating in the fight? “Are you crazy?” I snapped, my voice echoing loudly in the hallway. “Godfrey, why would you decide to kill yourself when I am on the verge of hanging myself trying to protect you.”“My queen,” he bowed. “Please, I want you to believe in me, I can do this.*I scoffed loudly shaking my head in disagreement, my blood boiling through my veins, if one could taste anger and frustration with their tongues, it would be what I was tasting right now… a sour taste filled with blood. “Godfrey,” I called, trying to calm myself down, but it was clear I was doing a terrible job of calming myself down. “My queen,” he answered, his head still bowed. Godfrey's pov. I rushed out of the queen's room, holding my tears as possible as I could as soon as I got to a corner, I went down on my knees and I let the tears flow down freely. “I hope you can forgive me, my queen,” I cried. If I don't fight, I would be putting the queen in more danger, beta Nathan would stop at nothing to make sure he ruins my life and it could also ruin the queen. Sam was right, there was a reason the queen's men stayed hidden. I staggered to my room, at least if I am going to die tomorrow, I should get a good night's sleep, the last sleep that I could wake up from. I got to my room, I met David pacing around the room, he turned to me immediately after I walked in. “Hey what Godfrey, how are you doing?” He asked. “Were you able to talk to the king?”I shook my head as I sat on my bed. “I have decided to go to the fight, I will be traveling first thing tomorrow morning.”“My goodness, Godfrey, this isn't possible,” he said sitting down beside me, tears bri

  • MY DAUGHTER'S MATE   The calm before the storm

GEORGINA'S POV. The royal carriage moved through the woods, the sound of the horses’ hooves in the dirt path. I sat by the window, looking out at the trees and wildflowers. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting golden patterns on the ground. Birds sang, and the gentle rustling of the wind filled the air. The beauty of nature offered some comfort, but it couldn’t take away the pain in my heart. Tomorrow, Godfrey would die. I tried so many times to reassure myself that Godfrey would not die, but deep down, I knew that Godfrey would die. I focused on the view outside, hoping it could distract me, even for a moment. The king sat across from me, looking relaxed, I could only smolder at him with resentment, if anything happens to Godfrey which I am sure he would die, I swear I would make sure Ashely's life in the palace also becomes unbearable. Pamela sat beside him, talking cheerfully, She spoke about the men she would meet and used her charm on them, her tone confident and p

  • MY DAUGHTER'S MATE   Behind the bushes

GODFREY'S POV. It was so hot in the room I was given, they should have at least given me a comforting room since today was going to be my last day breathing. I tried to sleep but the thought of how I would be brutally killed, the pain, the blood gushing from my beheaded head was the only thing that clouded my mind, even Draco seemed restless. I got up from the bed, pacing around for a while but it didn't seem to cure the insomnia, so I decided to take a walk in this new environment. I got out of the door, my legs shivering in fear, I shouldn't be seen walking around in the palace especially when I was just a guest, but it was not going to make any difference, I was going to die tomorrow so what could be the worse thing that could happen if I am caught. I walked through the hallway, the place was very quiet, the moonlight flittering through the window casting eerie shadows on the floor. Sentinels were not walking around like our pack, it seemed like this place was more peaceful t

GODFREY'S POV. The king moved closer to me, his hands reaching to the path of the bushes. I looked around for a way to escape but I couldn't see any way, I just had to wait for my fate…death. Suddenly a rat ran out of the bushes, the king moved back in shock, and the girl screamed as the rat ran towards her. The king quickly rushed to her, catching the rat and using his strength to snap the rat into two parts. “Please, let's get out of here,” the girl pleaded. The king quickly zipped up and ushered her out, I let out a sigh of relief as I watched them go out of the garden. I couldn't believe what I had just witnessed, the king was having an affair with a servant and he was planning on taking down the queen. “Okay, was that true or were we just hallucinating because we would die tomorrow?” Draco asked. “That was real,” I replied. I have to get out of here before the king changes his mind and decides to come back. Thank the moon goddess for sending that rat just in time or the

  • MY DAUGHTER'S MATE   Our forever

Godfrey’s POVThe morning of our wedding arrived with the soft glow of the sun spilling across the palace grounds. The sky was clear, the air cool and fresh, filled with the scents of wildflowers and pine from the nearby forest. Our wedding wasn’t just an ordinary one…it was a sacred werewolf ceremony, a bond blessed by the Moon Goddess, witnessed by our ancestors, and celebrated by our pack. The ceremony took place in the Moonstone Glade, a magical clearing hidden deep within the forest. The ground was covered with soft green moss, and petals of white and red flowers were scattered everywhere. An arch made of silver birch branches stood tall at the center, decorated with roses. Georgina had insisted that we did our wedding here and I agreed to it. “Are you nervous?” David whispered behind me. “Because I am.”I chuckled, turning to him. “I am the groom but you look more nervous than I am.”That was a lie, my heart was on fire, and I was only faking my calmness. Georgina smiled walking towards the elders, they staggered backward in fear as they stared at her. Joana rushed over, pulling her into a hug. “You are alive,” she cried. Georgina smiled and released herself from her embrace. “come, I know you have a lot that you want to tell me and you want to know,” she said dragging her away. I turned to the sentinels. “Take the culprits to the dungeon, I want all eyes on them.”They nodded and moved into action, dragging them away. Just then another sentinel walked up to me and told me that my parents had arrived and were waiting for me. I asked him to gesture them in, and he nodded leaving immedi

  • MY DAUGHTER'S MATE   The truth in the shadows

Godfrey's POV***The day of Georgina's attack***The cold wind blew through the thick forest as we searched for Nathan and Thomas, but there was no sign of them. “Keep looking,” I instructed the guards, suddenly Draco felt uneasy. I paused looking around but there was nothing around that could have triggered Draco. “What happened?” I asked. I could feel Draco's rage flaring up, his growl low but dangerous. Something was wrong.I could finally feel it, something was indeed not right, I looked around studying the forest, and my eyes turned to Pamela who looked uneasy. This was a trick, a trap or a diversion. “Georgina,” I muttered, my eyes widened in alarm and without thinking, I ran back toward the mountains, my heart hammering loudly in my chest. I needed to get to Georgina immediately. I got to where I left her and Alicia and found no one, my uneasiness growing as I scanned the environment, but still no sign of them. Suddenly I looked up and I saw her.Georgina.She was stand

She slammed the door shut behind her, the echo ringing through the room, Her hands curled into fists, her whole body trembling with anger.Across the room, Alicia leaned against the wall, her arms crossed under her breasts, a faint smile playing on her lips. The flickering candlelight cast shadows on her face. “We had a deal," Pamela spat, her voice cold and sharp. “You tricked me.”Alicia sighed, tilting her head slightly as if bored by the conversation. "Your mother is dead, Pamela. Isn’t that what you wanted?"Pamela’s eyes burned with rage. “I wanted her dead,” Pamela snapped, walking closer to her. “But do you know what I wanted more? The throne,” she snapped. “I did my own part of the job,” Alicia hissed. “Your own part of the job?* She scoffed, shaking her head in disbelief. “I wanted the throne, you said you would give me the throne.”Alicia let out a chuckle. “You lost th

  • MY DAUGHTER'S MATE   The Return to the Palace

Godfrey’s POVThe rain fell hard as we rode through the palace gates, but it did nothing to wash away the blood. Georgina’s body lay cold in my arms, wrapped in a dark cloak, her face pale as the dead sky above us.I could not feel anything. No pain. No anger. Just emptiness.I couldn't help but feel this was my fault, I was the one that persuaded her to go on this trip and I led her to her death and worst of all I couldn't catch the culprits. Tears flowed down my cheeks freely, words could not explain how I felt, I just felt empty and filled with guilt. “It is all your fault, it is your fault, your fault,” the accusations kept playing in my mind.I searched through my mind looking for Draco, I needed someone to pull me back…it was just too sudden. I kept glancing back at her body, hoping Georgina would just get up but she didn't.The sentinels followed behind in silence, their faces grim, so we were crying loudly. The moment we stepped inside the palace, the cries increased. Ser

  • MY DAUGHTER'S MATE   The North sea

Georgina’s POVThe cold wind from the North Sea hit my face as I stood by the rocky shore. The waves crashed against the rocks again and again, as if trying to pull the land into the sea. I inhaled deeply not wanting to miss any part of this, I was happy I actually listened to Godfrey because this was just what I needed. For the first time in weeks, I felt like I could breathe, No walls around me. No people watching my every move, Just the sound of the sea, stretching far and endless before me.Godfrey stood beside me, a faint smirk playing on his lips as he enjoyed the view.“See you like it,* he blurted out. “The sea air is good for you, good for resting.”“Is this a way of rubbing it on my face that you were right?” I chuckled, turning my head to him. *I can't say I wasn't trying to rub it off,” he said, giving me a wink. “You need to learn I am always right.”“I sighed, wrapping my hand around his. “I can’t remember the last time I felt this… free,” I admitted.Godfrey glanced a

Godfrey’s POVI walked down the dimly lit hallway, my footsteps echoing softly against the stone floor, the cool air of the night brushing through my face. I haven't seen Alicia since that morning and I have been getting nervous about it for a long time. I got to her room, scanning the hallway, I pushed open the door to her room without knocking. She was sitting in a chair, her posture calm, but I could feel, the tension in her, I couldn't see her face since she had her back facing me but I could tell she was tired. It was clear her werewolf was restless, even though she was silent, I could almost hear her wolf breathing heavily, I could feel its exhaustion… This must be what Garrick was talking about, I could actually feel her wolf. "Alicia," I said, stepping closer. She didn’t look at me right away, Instead, she kept staring at the wall, like she didn't know of my presence, Finally, she turned her head slightly. "Godfrey.""You seem... off." I studied her carefully. "Your wolf i

I lunged forward, barely feeling the pain from my torn back as I wrapped my arms around him. His body was thinner, But he was actually alive. His arms tightened around me. "Thomas..." His voice was thick as if he hadn’t spoken in a long time.Tears glistening in my eyes. "I thought you were dead! Georgina…I thought she killed you!" My chest tightened with rage, with grief, with every emotion I had buried since I had been thrown into this hellhole.Nathan let out a bitter chuckle. "She wanted to, I almost thought I would be beheaded the next day, but someone switched me before the execution. I don’t even know who but all I knew was that I was taken to another place in the North but I was still locked away."He pulled back, gripping my shoulders. "And you, Thomas? They said you were dead, too. What happened?"I swallowed hard, the memories clawing at my throat. “The Kin

  • MY DAUGHTER'S MATE   The hardest Prison in the South

The sun was scorching as it beat down on the vast prison yard, dust swirling in the dry wind. The South’s biggest and hardest prison was no place for a man like Thomas. He had spent his life in luxury, waking up in silk sheets, eating the finest meals, and being waited on hand and foot, but here, comfort was a far-gone fantasy and suffering was their reality. Sweat dripped down his forehead as he swung the heavy pickaxe against the unyielding ground. His hands, once soft and uncalloused, now bled from the rough wood of the handle. His muscles ached, not used to such brutal labor, Around him, hardened criminals worked without pause, their bodies already accustomed to the endless toil.A low chuckle echoed behind him. “Look at the northern King, struggling like a newborn pup,” a voice sneered.Thomas turned, his breath heavy. Standing before him was the prisoner’s captain, a massive man with thick scars running across his arms and a jagged-toothed grin. His name was Darius, and he r
