"Boss?" She was truly stunned.
She looked forward again, didn't dare to make a sound, in fear of waking up the man that was still sleeping soundly.
The comforter was only covering his lower body, revealing his sexy chest and his bulging six-pack abs. Any woman who saw it would surely turn insane. Kathleen was no exception, yet the pain that she felt down there was enough to stop her venereal desire.
"No... It can't be. I must be mistaken. It's not boss..." she murmured in denial. She glanced at him again and once again was sure it was him. Yet, her mind still couldn't accept the fact.
"He probably had a twin brother. Or maybe it was just someone else who looks like him," she began to create some unreasonable excuses to support her negation.
Her eyes suddenly caught sight of a man's wallet on the bedside table. She took it immediately and checked the identity card of the owner. That wallet must belong to the man on the bed, she was sure of it.
Her heart went despair when she read the name on the identity card. 'Aaron Castell'. Indeed, the man was really her boss. No denying it now.
"I'm doomed..." Kathleen felt like she was about to cry.
She just worked at Aeroxx Corporation owned by Aaron Castell for two months now. Her contract was for two years. There was no way she would be able to submit her resignation letter any sooner now since she won't be able to pay the fine if she breach her contract. She was really at her wit's end.
She quickly rolled out from the bed and let her body fall slowly to the floor. Like a culprit, she crawled on the floor to collect all her clothes. She quickly put them on one by one in a flash. When she had fully dressed again, she regained back her footing and tiptoeing out from the bedroom.
"Where do you think you're going? You need to compensate me," A domineering voice came from behind her.
Kathleen got halted instantly. She furrowed and her head slowly turned around to peek at her boss. He was now sitting on the bed with his manhood under the cover. He chuckled when he saw her timid reaction. He pulled up the cover to get off the bed but then realized that he was without a single strand. Thus, he stayed on the bed and scanned around the room to find his pants.
"Honey, can you take my pants down there?" He caught sight of his pants on the floor and pointed at it.
'Honey? Honey? Never in a million years would I ever imagine that my arrogant indifferent boss, Aaron Castell, would call me honey...' Kathleen was momentarily stunned with her mouth gaped. She thought she misheard him. She stared at him in disbelief as if waiting for him to repeat his words.
"Honey, what are you waiting for? My pants. There," he spoke domineeringly asking her to take his pants again.
Feeling flustered, Kathleen quickly took his pants and gave them to him. 'He did call me honey,' she was still in bafflement. Her eyes fixed at him like he was an art masterpiece.
Aaron tried to put on his pants but it was too hard for his legs to go through the holes when he was sitting on the bed. Thus, he wanted to stand up but the woman kept staring at him.
"Would you mind?" He said and gestured his hand, instructing her to turn around.
"Oh, of course," Kathleen was startled and quickly turned. She blushed in embarrassment at the situation.
Getting a glance of her pink cheeks that was blushing, Aaron chuckled again.
"You'd seen it enough last night already," he teased her.
'Did I?' Kathleen wondered. Yet, she didn't remember any of it.
"But you probably won't remember anything," Aaron added as if able to read her mind.
He went around her and picked up his shirt on the floor. He slowly put it on and buttoned up the shirt in front of her, deliberately giving her a chance to see his sexy chest.
"Am I right?" He asked flirtatiously.
"About what?" Kathleen was confused. Her mind wandered somewhere else just now, she didn't fully grasp what he meant.
"Did you remember anything from last night?"
"I..." She lost for words and just shook her head lightly.
"That's too bad," he said. Then, he leaned forward and whispered at her ear, "Because I remembered everything."
Her eyes widened and she could feel her heart was about to burst. Kathleen quickly knelt down on the floor and rubbed her palms together, bowing down to him to ask for forgiveness.
"I'm sorry, Mr Castell. It's my fault. I'll take responsibility for it and submit my resignation letter on Monday immediately."
"What are you talking about? I'm not firing you. Get up now," he replied while tidying up his shirt, buttoning his sleeves.
"You not?" Kathleen was perplexed. 'Did he not get mad for what happened last night?' She pondered.
"You haven't compensated me yet, but you already thinking of running away?"
Kathleen was agitated by his words. 'What kind of compensation that he wants?' Her heart was troubled by it. It felt like a big boulder was just being thrown on her shoulder.
"Stay for a while. We'll have breakfast. If you want to take a shower, you are welcome to use the bathroom. You got a bit sweaty last night," he teased her again, emphasizing the word 'sweaty' and giving her a wink.
'What's wrong with my boss? He never acted this friendly before,' Kathleen still couldn't get used to that situation. She stood there motionlessly like a statue and her eyes followed Aaron's every movement.
The man picked up the hotel telephone on the bedside table and called room service.
"Room service. How can I help you, Sir?"
"Please send two sets of breakfast meals to the Royal Suite."
"Royal Suite? Oh, right away, Mr Castell."
Aaron put down the phone and turned around only to see Kathleen still standing there behind him with her empty expression.
"You're not going to the bathroom?" He asked. The woman shook her head vigorously.
"Okay then," he walked out of the bedroom and went to the living area of the suite. He took a few company files and landed his bottom on the sofa.
Kathleen was still inside the bedroom and she peeked through the door, looking at her boss who sat leisurely while reading some report from the file. 'How can he act as if nothing happened?' She was cringed by the situation. She intended to leave the suite earlier but now that her boss had woken up, she couldn't possibly just go out without his permission.
"Kathleen, come here," the man's domineering voice was calling her again.
"Yes, Mr Castell," she replied politely and ran hastily to him.
"Sit," He pointed to the sofa in front of him and Kathleen sat there immediately.
"Let's talk about last night, shall we?" He gazed at her with expectant eyes.
'Last night? Oh my gosh, I'm not ready for this,' she showed a resisting gaze.
"The man that was sitting by your side at the party last night, do you know him?" He started the topic even without getting her approval.
Kathleen tried to remember last night party event again. The only man that approached her last night was Rodney Shaw, her ex-boyfriend. She found him cheating on her three months ago and so she broke up with him immediately. She had gotten over that man, yet he kept pestering her. Last night, the Shaw Corporation was one of the invited guests. Rodney's father, Roland Shaw was the chairman of the company. Rodney must have come together with his father to the event."Rodney Shaw?" She mentioned the name."Rodney Shaw? Shaw? Like from Shaw Corporation?" Aaron knitted his eyebrows. The woman just nodded, concurring his words."I only know Roland Shaw from Shaw Corporation. He's the chairman.""That's his father," Kathleen explained."I see..."They both went silent. Aaron was thinking why Rodney spiked Kathleen's drink last night. Meanwhile, Kathleen was thinking why Aaron asked her about Rodney so suddenly."What about him?" She asked af
"Girlfriend?" Kathleen was shocked. Before Aaron could continue his words, the doorbell of the suite dinged."Room service," a male voice from outside said loudly.Aaron walked to the door and opened it. The hotel manager himself was the one that brought in the breakfast meal. He served the meal on a square dining table at the right corner of the living area. After that, he excused himself from the suite."Come here," Aaron beckoned Kathleen to sit at the dining table. She obediently obeyed him and sat in front of him. A mouth-watering English breakfast meal was served on the table. Looking at the food, her stomach started to growl. The sound that her stomach made was too loud that Aaron heard it as well. Their gazes met and awkwardness suddenly filled the air.'Should I talk first or should I tell her to eat first?' He wondered."Oh, please let me eat first. I don't even get to eat much last night because of the incident,' she was ho
Rodney glared at him for interrupting. Then, he disregarded Aaron like he didn't exist. He looked at Kathleen again and tried to kiss her forcefully. Yet, seeing the danger of his action, Aaron quickly grabbed Kathleen away from him."Oh, no no no. That's not a way to treat a lady, Mister," Aaron mocked him. The people around them began to give disgusted looks at Rodney."Who are you? This is my private matter with her. Stay out of our business!" Rodney got annoyed that he was stopped by that strange guy.The man was wearing a grey suit and looking noble with domineering temperance. Rodney just assumed that he was one of the people who worked inside the company. Maybe just one of the directors. So, what? He was also a director himself inside Shaw Corporation."Her matter is my matter as well. Whether it's private or not," Aaron said coldly.Rodney stared at Kathleen who was hiding behind Aaron. Just then, his mind got the hunch."Was he the
"Whatever. You're harassing my employee and making a ruckus in front of my company, Mr Shaw. So either you leave now or I'll call the police," Aaron threatened him to make him leave."Fine. I'll go for now, Kathleen. But I'm not going to let this go so easily. Just imagine how your father would react if he found out his daughter was working inside his competitor's company. Do you think he will just let you off the hook? Your fate is sealed anyway. It's either you married someone from any affluent family or you'll be nothing and getting nothing. But it can't be Castell. You knew it better than me. It's up to you if you wanted to destroy your life with your own hand," Rodney didn't miss the chance to threaten Kathleen before he left. He entered a red Porsche car and drove off leaving the scene in an instant."What did he mean by that? Why are you not allowed to marry someone from Castell's family?" Aaron asked Kathleen as soon as Rodney left."I don't know what he
"It's fine," Aaron answered a bit cold."Let's order some food first," Sara said casually, ignoring the indifferent gesture given by Aaron.Aaron was a Castell after all, so she was just going to let him slide. She was determined to endure it and just put up with his behaviour. Tonight, she must own this man.Who didn't want to be the woman of the future Chairman of Castell Corporation, the leading corporate company inside that country? Even now, Aaron was already the Chairman of Aeroxx Corporation, the third leading corporate company, let alone when he inherits his father's company later, he would become the wealthiest man in Country H by then. The woman who managed to become his spouse would be the luckiest woman in the country, and Sara was determined to be that woman. The waiter took their orders and left. While waiting for the food, the couple chatted a little. But each time Sara asked him a long question, Aaron would answer only with one or two word
"No, Mr Castell. It's alright. I can eat at home," Kathleen declined his offer. "What do you mean? It's almost nine now. We should eat now," Aaron insisted. "Then you should just continue eating your food here, Mr Castell. You haven't eaten much of your food yet. It would be a waste if you order a new meal," Kathleen suggested for them to just eat the food ordered previously. "What about you then?" "I can just eat Sara's..." "No no no... I won't let you eat Sara's leftovers. Let's buy a new meal," Aaron was almost dumbfounded hearing Kathleen said that. He dragged her gently out of the room and went to the private room next door. A waiter was summoned and took their order immediately. Fifteen minutes later, another set of meals arrived and was served on their table. 'I thought I just need to ruin his blind date and go home. How come I ended up having a date with him instead?' Kathleen was truly dumbfounded internally. She stare
"No, it can't be. My boss is not this p*rverted," Kathleen said and shut her eyes again. "Excuse me?" Aaron could feel his pride hurt a little by what she said. 'P*rverted? How brazen...' he muttered and released himself from her. He went to sit at the edge of the bed. His head slowly turned around looking at the woman who was lying silently on his bed right now. Somehow, she looked pitiful that night. "You still can't get over Rodney yet? What's so good about him?" He asked her loudly as if she was sane enough to talk right now. He didn't know why he felt so jealous hearing her calling her ex's name when she was drunk. "You said that I'm your first on bed. Why aren't you calling my name right now?" He sounded like a jealous husband. After a while, he realized that he was acting ridiculous. "What am I doing here acting like a psychopath?" He mumbled to himself and laughed. "Why is it so hot?" Kathleen suddenly spoke. She felt s
"And?" Kathleen was tense having to wait for him to continue his words."You thought I was Rodney and...""Spit it out! Quick!" Kathleen shrieked and hit his shoulder as a reflex of her frustration."Ouch..." Aaron gave out a low cry but then chuckled when he saw her annoyed gaze."What did you say? Spit it out? Is that a way to talk to your boss?" Aaron teased her."Forget it," Kathleen mumbled slowly and turned her head away from him, looking out of the car window like a sullen person."Oh, come on. Don't be such a crybaby. I'll tell you what happened last night," Aaron said. The woman quickly turned to look at him again."Last night, you thought I was Rodney and you hugged my neck tightly and won't let me go," he glanced and grinned at her.Once again, Kathleen felt highly mortified. 'What the hell is wrong with me? How could I act so indecent?' Her inside was filled with embarrassment."Did I do anything else apart f
"You must be the less popular Castell, you didn't seem to be able to find anyone to mingle with at this party," Liam approached Adrian Castell from behind. The man turned around instantly at his words and scoffed when he realized it was Liam."So did you. The only Campbell who got invited," Adrian jested back."I talked with Aaron a bit just now," Liam went to stand beside him and offered to clink their drink glasses together, as a sign of affinity. Adrian just went along with it and then they sipped on their drinks while staring at the exact same spot, Sandra and her friends."She probably going to be my sister-in-law in the future. So I ought to come to her birthday party and make peace with her," Adrian remarked."Are you sure? Has Aaron introduced her to your family?""Not yet. Actually, he didn't really seem to give much thought to dating this woman... I mean, he had his entire focus on the company development, I don't think he had the time to date around.""So, why do you think
When Aaron left Sandra alone heartlessly, Seth Martin approached her. He took out a small velvet box from his suit and gave it to her. It looked like a ring box because it was small. Sandra thought it was a ring so she didn't dare to accept it."Just open it first," Seth said solemnly. He didn't put her birthday present on the gift table along with the other presents she got from her friends before. That was because he wanted to give it to her by himself. She took it carefully and glanced at Aaron that now stood so far away. The guy didn't seem to care about what she was doing. Sandra sighed heavily and opened the small box from Seth. There was a pair of pink crystal earrings inside."I thought it might match your personality. You always wore pink ballerina dress when you're teaching your students at the academy," Seth remarked."Thank you..." She replied slowly, showing almost no reaction after seeing the earrings. Her heart was still a bit disappointed that Aaron hadn't thought abou
Instantly, the word 'marriage' came up in Liam's mind. 'Did he mean having a truce through marriage?' He wondered. Aaron turned around and was about to leave him alone."Regardless, you won't be able to get back with Kathy. She didn't use our family name. So, she would be out of the picture for the truce arrangement," Liam said to die our Aaron's expectation of having a chance to be with Kathleen again."Really? Then, there's still Nora. Let's see what Kathy would think seeing her ex-husband marrying her half-sister. Let's just be one big happy family," Aaron emphasized his last sentence purposely, to piss off Liam."So, you're going to just agree to marry someone who steal from you before and ruined your company despite having a girlfriend right now? Look at Sandra right there. She's all happy thinking you love her wholeheartedly. But here you are plotting revenge on my family through a marriage arrangement. You're really a heartless guy, Aaron. Kathy would be so disappointed with yo
In the same week, Liam suddenly got an invitation to go to a birthday party at a local clubhouse owned by Castell Corporation, The Heritage. He felt odd about it because he didn't know who the person celebrating the birthday was. It was actually Sandra Wilson.A few months after Kathleen left, Aaron got back together with Sandra. He did it out of frustration, trying to find a way out of his feelings for Kathleen. The relationship went well but he never go intimate with Sandra. He still kept his boundary with her despite people starting to notice their relationship. In fact, he never made any special announcement or declaration saying that Sandra was his new partner. They were just together casually. On a Tuesday night, he held a surprise birthday party for Sandra. It was her thirtieth birthday party and Aaron invited all her friends and his friends too. Even Liam was included in the invitation. Certainly, Aaron deliberately did that to show Liam how well he moved on from his past marr
Rodney just shook his head as a response and all the policemen left his private room, giving him some privacy to rest. He was about to lie down on the bed again but his phone rang. He took it out from his suit that was placed on the bedside table, thinking that it might be a call from his family. But when he checked the caller ID, it was Nora Campbell."Fuck you! I'm not going to fucking answer that," he cursed alone while just throwing the phone back on his suit. He didn't dare to answer the call because it might be a test from Liam. Who knows what kind of trouble he might get into again if he answers the call from Nora? He had promised Liam last night that he won't bother Nora nor Kathleen again so from this moment forward, he had obstinately decided to never be in contact with any of the women at least for a few months.***"Are you sure about this?" Liam was on the phone with Kathleen. It had been two months since she left the country."Yeah... I think it would be better this way.
He saw Liam staring at him with some kind of menacing expression. Rodney got an instant reaction of trying to escape the room. He stood up and went after the door, but Liam was faster to block the exit."Not so fast..." Liam said with a sinister laugh."You just arrived..." he added and pushed Rodney's chest, making the man sit down again."I... I... I think I can't be too long here. I'm sure my parents won't let me stay out too late," Rodney stuttered in his words, trying to find some excuse to escape."Oh... come on Rodney. We're of the same age. I'm sure you could find some better excuse than that," Liam replied snickeringly."Why do you want to meet up with me anyway? We aren't that close. If this is about Kathy, I swear I never bother her anymore after she broke the engagement. I really never bother or pester her anymore. I swear," Rodney begged to be spare as Liam leaned his body closer to him and his collar was grabbed."You should have walked away silently after Kathy found y
"What did you say? What's his name again?" The man seemed in a state of disbelief. He wished that he just heard it wrongly."Aaron Castell," but Luffy repeated the same name.Liam was speechless. He glanced at his stepmother and the woman could see from his expression that something was wrong."Why?" She asked in anxiousness."Aaron came," Liam murmured to her in an almost inaudible voice."Sir?" Luffy was still in the line, waiting for the next order from Liam."Don't let him in. I'm coming there," Liam said and put down the phone.Victoria wanted to follow him out of the house but he told her to just stay inside. She was not in a stable condition right now and he feared she might lash out at Aaron for hurting Kathleen before. He didn't want the situation to get worse as their family were already enemies with the Castell.Aaron stood beside his car that stopped right in front of the main gate of Campbell's manor. He was waiting for the gate to be opened but the guard said he was not
"It's Aaron."The answer Liam gave made her sigh heavily. She felt like she wanted to berate Kathleen for making such a major decision without discussing it with her. Aaron Castell was the only legitimate heir of Castell Corporation. Even though that young man was not yet in charge of the company right now, everyone knew he would be the one who would replace Edward Castell to take control of Castell Corporation later. In short, Aaron was not someone that anyone would want to mess with. Now her daughter had been associated closely with that man, even to the extent of having married together. If Kenneth knew about this, Victoria was sure her husband would surely accuse Kathleen of trying to betray Campbell Corporation."This is bad. Don't tell your dad about this. I don't want the other Campbell to pick on Kathleen again. Are you sure they had really divorced? Why did they divorce? Wait... during the microchip launching event... we did introduce Kathy to Aaron. Did he not know that she
Later that evening when it was time to clock out from work, Aaron received a call from Detective Leon. He didn't hope to get much news about Kathleen that soon because he just hired the investigator this morning."Mr Castell, I'd check and saw your wife's car driving around the city about three days ago in the morning. And then later that day she parked in front of a hotel, I'm guessing she stayed there for a day. The next day, her car was seen driving into the Campbell's manor. And it never gets out from there until today. I think she's probably there inside that residential," Detective Leon explained through the phone.Aaron was silent to hear that information. But a smirk slowly appeared on his face. 'So, you're not that innocent after all. In the end, you returned to your vile family again,' he muttered internally, slightly having his mind assuming the bad about Kathleen again. He felt a bit disappointed that she left him before, thinking that maybe he was wrong. But after the det
