Kathleen gaped in disbelief with what happened. She was momentarily stunned, she didn't know how to react to that situation. Her face was burning up due to embarrassment and her cheeks slightly turned pink. Aaron chuckled as he saw her face. He escorted her again into the VIP elevator and laughed when the doors were closed.
Seeing him laughing nonstop inside the elevator, Kathleen was utterly confused. She couldn't fathom what just happened. 'What kind of mess did I get myself into? I was just his secretary when I left the building before. Now that we returned, I suddenly became his girlfriend. And I don't even know if he meant it to be real or fake,' she muttered internally, still staring at Aaron who looked so amused for no apparent reason.
The VIP elevator reached the top floor and Aaron walked out without waiting for her. The man directly entered his office room again. Kathleen slowly returned to her desk and sat down dejectedly.
"Urggghhh, this is depressin
"Please just come back to Campbell. I'll talk to dad to open up a new position for you. Or you can just be my secretary if you like that kind of job that much," Liam was still persuading her."No," Kathleen rejected his offer coldly."Kathy... this is dangerous. What if Aaron Castell knows you're a Campbell. He will crush you. Not just him. What about dad then? He'll be very disappointed if he knows you work with his rival.""They won't know unless you tell them. Besides, I'm no longer care what dad might think or feel about me.""You are still his biological daughter.""No, I'm not. I'm just a complimentary gift he got after marrying my mother."Liam went speechless again.Their father, Kenneth Campbell used to be married to Camilla Campbell. Camilla was the biological mother of Liam and Nora. A year after she gave birth to Nora, she died due to some illness. Kenneth ended up having his life messed up. He was busy with the company an
Kathleen returned to the company promptly. When she arrived on the top floor, she saw Aaron was asking Tiara, Ryan's secretary if she saw her."Did you see Kathleen anywhere?" Aaron asked."I don't, Mr Castell. I think she's probably going out to have lunch. It's lunch hour right now," Tiara replied.Aaron was silent. That couldn't be true because he just had a lunch meeting together with Kathleen before when he met Donna Taylors. He walked back to his office only to realize that Kathleen was returning to her desk again."Where did you go?" Aaron asked her immediately even before she had the chance to sit down."Uh... I went out to buy something," Kathleen gave a fake excuse and smiled faintly at him to hide the suspicion. He stared at her sharply and leaned his face closer to her."What thing?" His interrogation mood was on all of a sudden. He didn't know why he felt uneasy not knowing where she went. 'Did she meet another man behind
Not even one word was able to come out of her mouth. Nora turned speechless as if there was a lump inside her throat that hindered her from talking. Seeing the ferocious gaze of her father, she didn't even dare to defend herself. She knew she had no talent in the business world, but she refused to admit it.Her aunties and uncles had convinced her to take away the Managing Director's position from Kathleen. They even forced her father to dismiss Kathleen from the company. The reason was that the company was built and established by her father and her late mother, so some outsider like Kathleen was not supposed to be part of the company even though she was her father's biological daughter. Kathleen was just a daughter to a former secretary whom her father married, so Nora didn't think someone like Kathleen deserved to have such an important role inside the company.Nora loathed Kathleen so much because she knew their father favoured Kathleen more than her. Her father ev
Certainly, as a father, Kenneth was supposed to protect her from such poor treatment. But he too had his hands tied on his back regarding those matters because most of the Campbell's family members were shareholders of the company and they would only show their support to him as the Chairman of the company if he listens to their requests. Thus, when they told him to dismiss Kathleen and let Nora take over her place, Kenneth had no choice but to do it.It didn't mean that his decision didn't break his heart. It did. After all, he had invested so much in Kathleen to learn business and she was a smart student to begin with. If only he had a choice, he would make her his successor, but the other shareholders would not be happy with such a decision. Thus, despite knowing that Liam and Nora were not as competent as Kathleen was, he still had no choice but to choose the two as his successors. In fact, both Liam and Nora each had five percents shares of the company. Meanwhile, Kathle
"That's none of your concern," Kathleen shot him an icy glare while walking towards her car again. Liam followed her. "Of course, it's my concern," he said while holding her shoulder from behind, stopping her from entering the car. Kathleen turned her head around to look at him. "You're only concerned because Aeroxx might surpass Campbell, isn't it?" She smirked at him and as expected, that man fell silent. "Stop, Liam. Stop controlling me like the rest of the Campbell family members. I'm done being the puppet. I'm not going to come back to Campbell and then be forced again to get to know a new guy so that I can get married. You guys probably wondering why I broke off the engagement before with Rodney. It's not because I'm trying to become a rebel against the Campbell. It's because..." Kathleen's lips trembled. She was not sure if she should tell that matter to Liam. "Because of what?" Liam got curious. "It's because... Nora slept with him. I saw it with my own eyes, they spent a
"Why are you here?" Ryan asked more. "You know why... I heard the other day, Aaron had a blind date with Sara Anderson... Why? Why? Why?" The woman made an exaggerated reaction as if she was depressed. "Why what? Shouldn't you be happy? Your role model had a date with your crush. You should support her," Ryan mocked her, knowing well enough how much his sister idolized Sara Anderson. "I don't like Sara anymore. How dare she try to steal my man," Ariella responded shamelessly, claiming Aaron as hers. "Aaron is not your man... yet," Ryan quipped at her and he saw that woman twitching her lips in annoyance. "Ryan... help me... go ask Aaron to join us for lunch," Ariella suddenly pleaded with him. "I'm not going to lunch with you," Ryan rejected her request and her plan to have lunch together simultaneously. "Oh, come on... Just this once. Introduce me to Aaron," Ariella begged more. "He already knew you. If he's inte
She sat there leisurely without having any thoughts in her mind. Her eyes just stared out of the window looking at the passersby outside with a smile on her face. Seeing her sitting there, Aaron quickly changed his mind and went to sit beside her.'There's no way I'm going to let Ryan sit beside you or there's no way I'm going to sit beside Ariella,' Aaron mumbled in his head while taking his seat. Kathleen was stunned to see him suddenly sitting next to her. She clearly saw him choose the seat in front of her just now.Her head slowly turned to Ariella who was now looked so sour while staring at Aaron. That woman slowly landed her bottom on the chair, feeling a bit embarrassed that Aaron suddenly changed his seat inconsiderately as if he made it so clear that he wanted to sit beside Kathleen.Ryan was the last to arrive at the table. When he saw the arrangement there, he was momentarily confused. He stared at Aaron for a long time, having his brows knitted.
"What should I do? I don't want Aaron to be with that woman," Ariella repeated her question, and this time she sounded even more desperate. She stared down at the ground with a dejected face. Aaron didn't even show interest in her during their lunch before. He only focused on feeding Kathleen even though she was just right in front of him. Ryan thought for a while. Honestly, he too hoped the same thing as his sister. He didn't want Aaron to be with Kathleen either. His fingers rubbed his chin while his mind pondered about what kind of thing he could do to make Aaron notice his sister's affection. "How about you come again tomorrow? But come a bit early this time. Maybe about half an hour before lunch," Ryan made a suggestion. "Why? Are you going to ask him to have lunch together with us again? Only the three of us this time?" Her eyes glimmered with expectations. "No," Ryan replied shortly and Ariella frowned instantly. He chuckled at her reac
