LIAM’S POV
I sigh as I settle on the edge of my bed. I had left her in the other room with the Doctor to come to mine to care for my wound.A soft knock lands on the door, and I mutter out a “Come in” after pulling my shirt down to cover the wound on my stomach, even though I know it’s impossible due to its tear.Rivers walks in, dressed in a casual shirt and jean trousers. He is my Beta and an old childhood friend of mine. He is practically more like my twin because he knows everything about me, even things I didn’t think he took note of.“Good day, Alpha.” He greets me with a slight bow of his head.I nod in response, then put on my lower lip to relieve my pain.I have repeatedly corrected him not to call me Alpha and to stick with Liam, but he refuses.“You are my Master, so I must respect you.” He would say countless times, and soon I just let it slide. I find myself getting used to it.“To what do I owe this visit?” I say playfully as I wonder if Diana told him anything. I know her to be the type that gets worried about me so quickly. I know she cares, but I’m not a little child anymore.Yes, before my Father’s death. He told her to care for me and watch me like her own, which she has been doing since I was Fifteen.“I have news from the Elders.” He informs, and my eyes spark up with curiosity.Do they know? Did they maybe find out about her existence?“What’s that?” I ask, trying not to jump into conclusions.“The Elders want a meeting with you. They want to discuss the threatening issues in the kingdom.” He responds.I nod slightly, then pin my lips together to relieve my pain.“Okay,” I respond, my voice, however, coming with a slight crack.“Okay, Master.” He replies, then turns around to leave when he pauses to look back at me. “You good? You don’t look okay.” He asks, his eyes running over me.Rivers is the type to always notice any little thing off about me or anyone. This is the reason why he is mostly on bad terms with nearly everyone. He suspects most wolves around me. ‘I don’t like him’ ‘He doesn’t look like you can be trustworthy’ ‘I think he has something he is hiding’ These are his words every single time, it got to a point that I always expect him to say something ill about whoever we meet. Now I’m starting to hate that he has that superpower.“I’m fine.” I lie and squeeze my eyes shut briefly. But that don’t make him leave or go outside. He stays still there, his huge form overshadowing mine as I sit. His eagle eyes running over me.“No, you’re not. You’re bleeding.” He responds and runs forward to pull my shirt up, revealing my wound.Ouch!I bit on my lip again, and let out a soft groan inside.“How did you get this?” He asks, worries and curiosity filling his voice.“I...It was nothing serious.” I reply, not wanting to fill him in on the details. I plan to keep it to myself forever.“This doesn’t look like it.” He says, and raises his eyes to give me an angry stare.Rivers never gives up.I roll my eyes.“Seriously, it’s nothing, Rivers,” I respond and snatch my shirt back from him, pulling it down.He gives me a long hard stare and stands up.“Stay right there, and I will get the Doctor.” He informs me and steps out of the room before I can protest against it.**** The Doctor walks in alongside Rivers. I’m glad that Mrs. Diana didn’t follow. He drops his bag on the bed beside me.“Pull off your shirt.” He says, and I do as instructed.I’m glad we were all males here, and my Doctor was a male. I wonder what thought would have gone through my head if my Doctorwass female.‘Pull off your shirt’ will have sounded like an attempt to seduce me.He pulls his bag closer and picks up something to apply to my wound. He cleans the blood off first. Luckily I’m not bleeding that much. He then places a bandage on it.“It’s not deep. It will heal with time.” He says, then adds. “I will give you some pills to numb the pain.” He informs.I nod, biting on my lower lip.He nods, too, in return, and stands up on his feet.“I guess that’s all for today.” He says, and I nod again. “Well then, I have dropped her drugs in her room, so that should sustain her before I come for my next checkup.” He informs.I can see Rivers’s questioning glare, but I ignore it.“Okay, Doctor. Thank you.” I responded. He smiles before picking up his bag and walking out of the room.“What was he talking about?” Rivers ask, but I choose to ignore him. That might be the best way to get him to shut up and stop talking.“Fix the meeting with the Elders to the next three days,” I instruct, and he nods.He keeps quiet for a while as though he is thinking of the best thing to say before he finally responds.“Okay, Master.” He replies.Good! No questions.I like this new Rivers better.“Good. Also, tell the warriors to take a day off tomorrow. I need to rest.” I inform him, and he nods again. For a weird unknown reason, he is being obedient, and that alone is suspicious.I’m supposed to train with them tomorrow, but I doubt I can do so in this state. I don’t feel that much pain from it, but I feel a bit weak. I know all I need is some rest to regain my lost strength.“Okay, Master.” He responds again.I can see the questioning expression he has on. But I know I have no answer for him until I know who this stranger is. I need to keep her a secret. I need to keep her real identity a secret.Who knows if she is a significant threat to us?Plus, bringing home a stranger might raise questions from people. So until then, I need to keep lying that she is an old-time friend.I know that will work.“Leave me,” I order. He nods in response and walks out of the room after giving me a slight bow.I sigh the second the door closes and slump on the bed—the thought of the day's event running through my mind. What would have happened if I had ignored Olcan and refused to help her? Would that have made me a murderer?I wonder.**** I got off the bed, my body better, but I could still feel the wound. The pain has reduced a bit, but I can deal with pain. I have faced sadder hurt after all.Should I talk about Father’s death, or was it Mother’s?Yes, My Mother died trying to give me life, so I barely knew her, never knew her likes and dislikes. The things I knew were the ones Diana, the head servant, told me. She told me how good, friendly, and beautiful my Mother was and even showed me countless of her pictures and why they were taken.Father?Well, he died right before me while lying on the bed. His voice breaks as he groans in pain. He beckoned me to come over, and I did. My head bowed right in front of him.“Take care of him like your own.” Is the last thing he says to Mrs. Diana before picking up my left hand to squeeze into her palm.He squeezes his eyes shut. That was the last time I stared at his deep Green eyes. The very last time I saw those lashes flutter. After that time, I didn’t care anymore. It’s just like my heart had darkened.I push the thought aside, change into clean cloth comfortable and suitable for the meeting, and head out of the room.I know that the Elders will already be waiting.STRANGE GIRL’S POV.I pull my eyes apart slowly, their heaviness almost discouraging me. My head bangs a little, making me place my right hand on it. I stared at the strange bright room, whose beauty differed from anything I had ever seen. The pictures on the wall and the design of the room seem familiar.Where am I?I ask myself as I try to stand up.The past I can remember is...It isn’t even clear.I feel a throbbing pain in my shoulder, causing me to groan softly. I didn’t want to make a noise or alert anyone until I knew where I was. I leave the bed, dressed in unfamiliar yet comfortable pajamas, then head towards the door. There was no one in sight by the time I got out.The whole place looks unfamiliar, but it has a pleasant smell lingering in the air. I keep walking ahead, my eyes lingering around the room. The farther I walk, the more I fear I might encounter my kidnappers. That has to be it.That's the only suitable explanation for it.I sight two big doors, two beautiful
Strange Girl's POV _________°-°_______His word replays in my head, over and over again. It keeps me dazed and mute. All I did abreast of the man with the captivating voice was stare at five strange faces looking at me in confusion and need of explanation.I can tell they are as perplexed as I am. My face is void of emotions to invite their doubts. Even though I know I require millions of answers from all of them. I can't help but become paranoid. My thoughts linger on my unsafety.Am I in a trance? Is this real or a dream?I slap my face hard which only attracts uninviting eyes on me. I must seem crazy. I kept mute, still feeling intimidated by everything before me. I look down trying to ease myself of the pain I caused must and away from the eyes that shot daggers at me.He speaks again. Is this heaven? I asked myself."She is my mate, Elders." He mentions again."Is this heaven?" I blurted aloud, looking back and forth at the eyes on me."Uhmm! No, it isn't." He states as he let
REFLECTIONLIAM'S POV____°°_______Knowing Rash would do the needful, I jog downstairs. I open to the refrigerator, took a cup, and poured myself a glass of water with ice in it. It chills my chest. Maybe it will lessen the intensity of anger boiling in me right now.She was supposed to stay in the room with Aerin. I didn't tell her about my encounter at the forest but she doesn't need to know. She doesn't need to know anything! I have my reasons and the least she could do was just follow my instructions!I ran my hand through my hair as I drink from my cup yet, again.I mind-linked Diana to come to the last floor. The general kitchen for the entire pack. I do have my kitchen but I hardly made use of it ever since. . .Diana trolls down the stairs in her white shirt and black pinafore outfit worn mainly by the royal servants. The royal servants are Omegas who mainly take care of the needs of the pack royals- The Alpha, Beta, and Royal warriors.'' Why weren't you where you were b
LIAM'S POVMy head was pounding from the strike and the last thing I wanted was a woman before me making a great deal out of nothing. All I require right now is adequate sleep.I wince in pain, now feeling it worsen as I make extra efforts to the nearest couch. Every step I take to relieve myself of this excruciating sting was futile. An Alpha is never weak. An Alpha strikes and never lose. My beta came to view and it seems like he was coming from Aerin's room."What the hell? Liam!'' His big eyes widen at me concerned."Just get me a fucking First Aid box, Rivers!" I hissed louder this time.He scurries away instantly. He always moves fast which gives him an edge over his opponents every time he was in a fight.Rivers and I are close buddies since childhood. Our parents' bond was unmatchable. He is a good and close friend that has always been present disregarding my cold and lousy attitude. He is reticent and accommodating but when Diego was in charge, he becomes that unrecognizabl
CHAPTER 8STRANGER'S THINGSAERIN'S POVI shake involuntarily at the sound of a deep harsh voice that make my body shake continuously in fear. The room was completely covered in darkness. No light passed through the room. It only made my skin rise in fright.I saw a huge, tall figure standing by my right when I snapped towards that direction.I felt my eyes widen, my thoughts were too damp to think of a defence. I tried moving my body a bit when my right hand caught hold of a stick. If it make any movement, I'd strike to defend myself.''Please, put that down. I was only checking up on you.'' It sounded familiar but deeper because where I was placed was silent. Nothing gave much sound aside the constant distant chipping of crickets and the low croaking of frogs. Admist these, the figure's voice made me shiver more. ''Who are you? What are you doing here? Wait! Where am I?''''Easy there Tiger, will you?'' The figured moved as it spoke. I hardly see at night, it only made me an
CHAPTER 9UNKNOWN POVHis form got closer and I instantly know who it is. I feel his presence as I stare at the emptiness. Just as it has always been. Things should stay the same way but not anymore. The beast is awake."Xylus." I turn my back to him at the mention of my name. The roughness in his voice was something I was fond of, except that it was different and deeper. Many believe they know him. They merely reside in the fantasy of their minds. It appears to secure them, placing their trust in him. Who am I, to compel their emotions and thoughts? He is a vengeful, ravenous, cold-hearted beast. I have seen these and more displayed. It's been two years since he last sent for me, since the death of his lovely mate who had been nothing but good to me.I do remember how this man fought earnestly for my family and me when war broke out between the two frenemies- The Panther Lord Pack and his long lost brother who sought his twin brother's life due to envy of Alpha Lord Zeus being the le
CHAPTER 10LIAM'S POVI buried my head in the files in front of me, trying to figure out one or two things at the same time.Nothing has fallen in place ever since I brought that girl in here. She mentions she has no name and no family. We do have something in common aside from the fact that I do have a name. There is something in her that piques my interest. I have to figure it out soon enough before things get out of hand. The Elders have been trying to get to the bottom of the bombshell. I have to ensure I tell no more lies, I'll just deal with the ones I spewed some days back.My mind reminisces about the exposure of my presumed prey. He thinks I feel entitled: being responsible to him as his personal servant for years isn't as easy as it appears.Alpha Lincoln, ruler of Black Moon pack for years- during my adolescent era. I am only ten years older than his son, Liam. Alpha Lincoln instead entrusts me to ensure Liam does well. I have done my best to fulfill my promise. LIAM'S POVI let the water slide down my clear skin. My mother always adores her little pup skin whenever she nurses me as a child. I grew fond of her as a child.I change into a befitting outfit. I shudder at the thoughts of being around Aerin today. It looks like I have to get her to the hospital myself. Any information as regards her being, must be directed to me unless I personally disclose it.I assign Bella to watch Diana closely, attending to her personal needs until she gains strength again.I also send a guard to inform Aerin of her hospital appointment schedule at 12pm. I ponder on how to complete the unattended files laying lifeless on my desk. It sure will be a tedious task.My lazy spirit accompanies procrastination, preventing me from attending to them even before I begin.I finally give in to do something meaningful. I pick up my cup of espresso, sipping carefully to prevent myself from a burning throat or tongue.A file of complaints as regards the pack welfare lay on
LIAM'S POVI feel Olcan wanting to take over. Who is this woman? Her effect on me didn't suffice, she has my wolf unknowingly enclasp in her hands. I push open a barricade trying to prevent him in my own strength from taking over. That big sweater she did wear this morning did hide the glory she possesses behind as a womam. Her butt now accentuates visibly, causing my myopic sight receives its healing. I can feel my member almost going berserk. I haven't longed for another woman in a prolonged time. Why now, what changed? She sits on the chair next to her bed. I watch earnestly like a suckling hangry baby whose mother has stopping feeding breast milk due to fatigue.Did she know of the cameras? Was she doing this on purpose? No answers came for my endless questions. Why will she be comfortable with a man watching her? I mentally smack myself at my irrationality.Women are meant to be shy right? I guess not this one right here. She is perfect- Perfect for me,for my hands and will ce
CHAPTER 13LIAM'S POVMitchelle informs me Diana is stable again. It sure is the required relief to ease the tension that seizes the pack's heart. I believe a break off work will suffice for her to be as right as a rain.I turn myself away from the opened window, sitting on a rolling armchair in my office. In deep thoughts, I swivel in different directions.Grabbing the cellphone, I ring the Black Moon Pack General Hospital, wanting to speak to the Royal Pack Specialist, Doctor Rash."Rash. You do remember the unconscious lady you attended to some days ago, I need you to run some tests on her.""Is there a problem Alpha?" He asks in concern."Not exactly but yes. She claims she can not remember anything. Not her name, family or pack.""I see. Is it okay she comes to the General Hospital tomorrow, instead? I may not be able to leave the Hospital for now. I have patients in my need of my attention every now and then.""Works for me then. I shall bring her over.""Very well. I shall sch
CHAPTER 12LIAM'S POV~___~~___~I can not particularly involve myself in today's training. I'll only watch keenly from a distance shrouded by thick trees- Love Garden. A place I happen to be fond of since our Union. I sit gracefully on a brown painted wooden bench;embracing the aura that surrounds me in comfy silence. I make a promise to myself to train my warriors the best way I can: as experts not mediocre. If so, they will become fearless and overcoming beasts of themselves during peculiar times, just like their Alpha.I grinned mentally at my self praise.*Ring! Ring!*My attention diverts to the sound emitting my phone. It displays Rivers' throwback picture at age 12. One of which he loathes desperately because I use it at the least expected times. He does mentions how uncomfortable I make him feel. *I won't be training with them today, as planned. My lower abdomen still hurts. I need to recuperate properly.* *How much weirdness do you have to show off? Why didn't you just u
