Chapter Four

Immediately  Anna  opened  her  locker, she  was  surprised  to  see  a  bouquet  of  flowers  and  a  box  of  chocolates – her  favorite  one  to  be  exact  which  made  her  frown  because  no  one  else  apart  from  her  parents  and  Lucy  knew  she  liked  snickers  so  who  could  it  be?.

“Wow”. Lucy  said  from  behind  her  when  she  saw  the  flowers. “You  have  an  admirer.”

Anna  scoffed. “More  like  a  very  annoying  little  pest  called  Andrei  Sebastiani.”  She  yanked  out  the  bouquet  and  box  of  chocolates  from  her  locker  and  passed  it  to  Lucy. “I’m  going  to  kill  him.” She  seethed.

Lucy  found  a  pink  card  in  between  the  bouquet  and  took  it  out. “And  a  card  too.” She  sounded   impressed. “He’s  really  ready  to  romance  you  Anna.”

Anna  sent  her  friend  a  death  glare. “You  talk  as  if  you  don’t  know  the  kind  of  person  he  is.”

Lucy  shrugged  one  shoulder  and  opened  the  card. “Be  my  girlfriend.  A.S”

“Oh  he’s  so  dead.” She  vowed  and  slammed  her  locker  door  shut.

“Will  you  say  yes?”. Lucy  asked.

“Are  you  serious  right  now?”. Anna  stared  at  her  in  disbelief. “Will  I  say  yes? The  idiot  didn’t  even  ask  and  even  if  he  did…over  my  dead  body  will  I  say  yes  to  him.”

“If  he  happens  to  be  the  only  boy  on  earth  I  will  prefer  to  be  a  nun  for  the  rest  of  my  life. Throw  those  in  the  garbage  can.” She  started  walking  away.

“Aren’t  you  being  too  hard  on  him?”. Lucy  questioned.

“Hard  on  him? Of  course  not”. She  snorted. “You  don’t  treat  someone  like  that  with  respect.”

“So  the  chocolates..”, Lucy  trailed  off  on  purpose.

“I  don’t  want  it.” She  said.

“Can  I  have  it?”. She  asked  hopefully.

“Be  my  guest.”

“Thank  you!”. Lucy  dumped  the  flowers  in  the  first  garbage  can  she  saw  and  followed  Anna.

Second  period  was  biology  but  Anna’s  biology  teacher  wasn’t  in  school  so  another  teacher  had  to  substitute  for  her.

Anna  was  appalled  when  she  found  out  that  her  class  and  Andrei’s  were  going  to  be  joined  together  for  biology  but  she  let  it  go  when  the  teacher  informed  them  that  they’d  make  use  of  the  biology  lab  2  which  was  bigger  than  the  first  one  so  it  was  possible  that  she  wouldn’t  even  see  him.

Boy, was  she  wrong.

Halfway  through  the  class  Anna  felt  someone’s  eyes  boring  holes  into  the  side  of  her  face  and  she  turned  her  head  to  look  at  the  person. 

She  wished  she  hadn’t  though  because  Andrei  rose  from  his  seat  at  the  other  end  of  the  lab  and  walked  over  to  where  she  sat.

“Long  time  no  see  Anna.” He  grinned  at  her.

“Too  short.” She  thought.  “What  do  you  want  Andrei?”. She  asked  in  a  bored  voice.

“Did  you  get  my  gifts?”. He  asked.

“Yes.” She  said.

“Do  you  like  them?”.

“No.” She  replied  in  a  deadpan  voice.

“They’re  your  favorites  aren’t  they?”. He  sounded  confused.

“You  got  someone  to  do  the  dirty  work  for  you  didn’t  you?”. She  eyed  him  over.

“Yes.” He  answered.

Anna snickered. “At  least  you’re  honest.”

“So  what’s  your  answer?”. He  questioned  impatiently.

“To  what  question  exactly?”. She  feigned  ignorance.

“I  asked  you  to  be  my  girlfriend.” He  reminded  her.

“If  my  memory  serves  me  right...I  don’t  remember  you  asking  me  any  question.” She  shook  her  head. “You  ordered  me  to  be  your  girlfriend.”

“So...will  you?”.

“No”. Anna  said, deadpan.

“No? Why  not?”. He  frowned.

“Because  I  don’t  want  to?.” She  replied  in  a  duh  tone.

“You  know  you  want  to,  Anna.”  Andrei  told  her  with  a  smirk. “I  mean  who  can  resist  me?”.

“I can...and  I  just  did.” Anna  snapped, now  irritated. “Now  if  you’ll  excuse  me.. someone  more  important  is  talking  up  front.” She  packed  her  stuff, brushed  past  him  and  left.

“What  the  hell  man! Did  she  just...brush  you  off?”. 

“that’s  my  girl!.” His  subconscious  cheered.

Andrei  clenched  his  fists  tightly  trying  not  to  explode.  The  girl  was  just  fucking  difficult!. He  turned  and  caught  Serafina  making  money  gestures  with  her  hands  which  made  him  vow  not  to  give  up. 

Jean  Anna  would  be  his  by  hook  or  crook.
