I was taken aback when Randall called. But relief washed over me knowing he had survived.

“Randall,” I said, calling his name with a mix of surprise and relief.

“Yes, h-how…” he trailed off, struggling to finish his thought.

“I am fine, you don’t need to worry,” I interjected, sensing his hesitation.
