SLYVIA'S POV

"And this is why we need to expand," I said, concluding the meeting with my team. "So remember, everyone, I will only be gone for a few days. I trust you can handle the clients until I return with more partners for the expansion of the company."

It's been six years. I didn't know how, but I did it. I took the money from the scholarship fund Maxwell had set up for me, finished my education, and started a real estate company focused on affordable housing. Now, we were successful, and with this new initiative, I could reduce homelessness by 30%. It was a dream coming to fruition, and I was proud of what we had achieved.

As I walked to my office after the meeting, my assistant, Lisa, approached me with a concerned look on her face. "Ma'am, the babysitter canceled. Something about a family emergency," she said.

I sighed, feeling a twinge of frustration, but quickly shifted gears. "You know what, book a flight for the kids too. They’re on holiday anyway, and I don’t have time to vet a new babysitter. Besides, New York could be good for them to sightsee."

"Understood, ma'am," Lisa replied, nodding before hurrying off to make the arrangements.

Who would have thought I was actually pregnant with twins back then? My babies, Zenith and Zendaya, were the light of my life. They had given me strength when I needed it most, and now, I couldn't imagine my life without them.

A few hours later, we were on a flight to New York. It felt surreal to be returning to the city where everything had fallen apart, yet it also felt like a full-circle moment. I had built a new life from the ashes of the old one, and I was coming back stronger than ever.

After arriving in NY city, we checked into our hotel. The kids were excited, their eyes wide with wonder as they took in the sights and sounds of the bustling city. I could see the curiosity and excitement in their eyes, and it warmed my heart.

Later that evening, we got dressed for the dinner party with executives from various companies. I chose a sleek, elegant dress that made me feel powerful and confident. Zenith and Zendaya looked adorable in their matching dresses, their smiles lighting up the room.

"Ready?" I asked, looking at them with a smile.

"Ready, Mommy!" they chimed in unison, their enthusiasm infectious.

We made our way to the hotel ballroom, where the event was being held. The room was filled with influential people, all gathered to discuss potential partnerships and the future of the real estate industry. I took a deep breath, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. This was a significant moment for me and my company.

As we entered the ballroom, heads turned, and I could feel the eyes of many on us. I held my head high, exuding confidence. The kids stayed close to me, their presence a reminder of how far I had come.

"Welcome, Ms. Hanson," an executive greeted me with a warm smile. "It’s a pleasure to have you here."

"Thank you," I replied, shaking his hand firmly. "I’m excited to discuss the potential for collaboration."

We mingled with the guests, engaging in conversations about business strategies and future plans. I could see the respect in their eyes, a recognition of the hard work and dedication that had brought me to this point. It was empowering, validating the choices I had made and the obstacles I had overcome.

As the night progressed, I felt a sense of accomplishment wash over me. I had built a successful business, provided for my children , and now, I was on the brink of something even bigger. The past no longer had a hold on me. I was no longer the broken woman who had left New York in tears. I was Sylvia, a CEO, a force to be reckoned with.

At one point, I looked over at Zenith and Zendaya, who were chatting animatedly with some of the guests, their faces glowing with happiness. They were my inspiration, my driving force. Everything I did was for them, and seeing them happy and thriving was the greatest reward of all.

Zenith and Zendaya tugged at my dress. I looked down to see their eager faces, eyes wide with determination.

“Mommy, we need to pee,” Zenith said, his tone urgent.

I glanced around the room, then back at them. “Okay, let’s go to the restroom.”

They exchanged a look, then Zendaya shook her head. “No, Mommy. We’re big now. We can go by ourselves.”

I hesitated, a mix of pride and worry bubbling up. They had been pushing for more independence lately, and this was clearly another step. “Are you sure? It’s a big place, and there are a lot of people.”

Zenith nodded vigorously. “Yes, we’re sure. We know where it is. We saw it when we came in.”

I sighed, looking between them and the bustling ballroom. “Alright, but you have to promise to stay together and come straight back here, okay?”

“Promise!” they chorused, their faces lighting up with excitement.

“Okay,” I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt. “But be careful, and don’t talk to strangers.”

“We won’t, Mommy,” Zendaya assured me, already pulling her brother towards the hallway.

I watched them go, a mixture of anxiety and pride swirling inside me. They were growing up so fast, and moments like these were bittersweet. As they disappeared into the crowd, I turned back to the conversation I had been having, but my thoughts remained with my kids.

GRAY'S POV

As I walked out of the men's bathroom, I spotted two little champs laughing and giggling with each other. They seemed so carefree and full of life. Curiosity got the better of me, and I approached them. "Where are your parents?" I asked gently.

They turned to look at me, their smiles wide and innocent. "In the hall," one of them answered confidently.

Am I crazy, or does this girl remind me of someone? I thought, staring at the girl. Yes, she looks just like Sylvia. My heart pounded as the realization struck me.

"Are you okay, mister?" the girl asked, concern lacing her young voice.

Another one, and this small boy kinda looks like me, I thought, my mind racing. I must have said it out loud because they giggled at my words.

"What are your names?" I asked them, my voice shaky.

"I'm Zenith," the boy said as his eyes shone bright.

"My name is Zendaya," the other chimed in, her smile matching that of her brother’s.

"Can you show me to your parent?" I asked, trying to keep my composure. They nodded enthusiastically and led me back to the hall.

As we entered, my heart skipped a beat. There she was—Sylvia. She looked as beautiful as ever, but there was a maturity and strength in her eyes now. The kids ran over and clung to her, and I saw Sylvia's eyes widen in surprise when she spotted me.

Putting two and two together, I asked the obvious question, "Are they mine?"

Sylvia's eyes widened further, and she struggled to speak. Panic flashed across her face before she swiftly got up, taking the kids by the arms. "Come on, loves," she said, her voice tense.

"Mommy, who is that man?" Zenith asked, but Sylvia just shook her head and hurried out of the hall, leaving a trail of whispers behind her.

Everyone in the room was staring at me, but I didn't care. I had to find out the truth. I rushed after them, my mind a whirlwind of emotions. Was it possible that I had children I didn't know about? And with Sylvia, of all people?

I caught up with them just outside the hall. "Sylvia, wait!" I called out, my voice desperate.

She turned to face me, her expression a mix of anger and fear. "What do you want, Gray?" she asked, holding the kids close, as if trying to shield them from me.

"I want to know the truth," I said, my voice breaking. "Are they mine?"

As I watched Sylvia and the kids walk away, a desperate urgency gripped me. I couldn't let them just disappear from my life again. I had to talk to her, to make her understand that I wanted to be part of their lives. I hurried after them, catching up just as they reached the elevator.

"Sylvia, wait!" I called out, but she didn't turn around. The elevator doors slid open, and she stepped inside with the kids. I tried to follow, but a security guard stepped in front of me, blocking my way.

"I'm sorry, sir. Only hotel guests are allowed beyond this point," he said firmly.

"I need to speak to her. It's important," I pleaded, trying to look past him at Sylvia. The doors were closing, and I caught a glimpse of her pained expression before they shut completely.

"Sir, if you're not a guest, you'll have to leave," the guard insisted, his stance unyielding.

Frustration boiled inside me, but I knew causing a scene wouldn't help. I nodded reluctantly and backed away, my mind racing. There had to be another way. I couldn't just give up now.

It could have been a good story, but here you mention two girls, and later in the story a boy and a girl. If you can’t control those main facts the story is baseless. I have no plans to pay for it. Sorry

SLYVIA'S POV I flew back to Houston in a bid to get away from Gray, the event of last time was still playing over and over again in my head and I don't even know how to approach it, that very morning, my phone buzzed with a call from my assistant, Lisa. "Good morning, Ma'am," she said, her voice bright and chipper. "Morning, Lisa," I replied, still feeling the weight of yesterday's encounter with Gray. "What's up?" "Great news! We’ve secured a potential partner for our expansion project. They’re very interested in your proposal and want to meet you in the office at 10 AM." I frowned, confused. "I didn’t get a chance to speak to anyone last night. Are you sure about this?" "Yes, absolutely. They reached out to us. It’s all set," Lisa confirmed. "Alright, I’ll be there," I said, ending the call. My mind was racing. Who could it be? And how did they find out about my proposal? I said, watching her face light up at the mention of McDonald's.She sat up, rubbing her eyes, and nodded eagerly. "Yes, mummy, I like McDonald's."Gray handed over the food and a soft smile formed on his face as he watched Zendaya dig into her meal. SLYVIA'S POVI woke up to the chirping of the morning birds outside the hospital window. I looked over to see Grayson sleeping in the hospital chair. I carefully placed Zendaya back on the bed so as not to wake her. Grayson groaned, stretched his arms, and gave a little yawn."Morning," I said to him softly."Morning... how's Zendaya?" he asked, glancing at her as she slept."She's fine... "Mom?" I heard Zenith say in a whisper as he woke up."Oh, I am here, baby," I said, moving closer to his bedside. Zendaya followed me, and we both sat on the hospital bed with him. I held his small hand gently, careful not to disturb the cast. "You're okay, baby. The doctor said you're ready to go.""You were sleeping for almost the whole day," Zendaya chimed in, her eyes wide with the amazement only a child could muster."No, I wasn't. You're lying," Zenith retorted, his voice stronger than I expected.I couldn't help but chuckle at their exchange. It was comforting to see Zenith's personality shining through even after everything he'd been through. GRAYSON POVI got back on my private jet and made my way back to New York. The thoughts of Sylvia lingered in my mind, and as much as I tried, I couldn't shake it off. Every detail of our recent interactions played over and over, and I found myself questioning everything I had said and done. “Was I doing too much? Could she see desperation written boldly on my face? Has she caught on to the fact that ever since she left I longed to see her again?” These unanswered questions welled up in my all day long. As soon as we landed, my driver, Paul, was there to pick me up. He took my luggage and opened the car door for me."Hi, Paul," I said, trying to sound casual."Good morning, sir," he responded, his tone professional as always.I settled into the back seat of the car, watching as Paul loaded my bags into the trunk. The familiar surroundings of New York felt strangely different, almost foreign, after the intense encounter I had just experienced in Los Angeles. As we drove through the

I had to drop out of school due to low funds, and life took a difficult turn, eventually landing me in a job as a stripper before I met Grayson. We finally reconnected when I relocated back to LA. We ran into each other at a café. He was waiting for his agent, and I recognized him instantly. Raymond had always been a striking figure, and time had only enhanced his looks. He was a struggling male model back then, but it was clear why he had chosen that career. Raymond stood at an impressive 6'3", with broad shoulders and a physique that screamed strength and elegance. SYLVIA'S POVThe music filled the room, a soft melody that perfectly matched the elegance of the moment. I stood with the crowd, cheering as Raymond and Beverly cut their wedding cake, the sweetness of the day mirrored in the layers of cream and sponge. I felt a tear slip down my cheek as I watched them share a kiss, a symbol of the love they had found in each other. It was a love that had grown stronger despite the odds, and seeing them now, so happy and so in love, filled my heart with an overwhelming sense of joy."Cheers to the newlyweds!" someone called out, raising a glass of champagne. The room erupted into applause and laughter, and I joined in, lifting my own glass before taking a small sip. The bubbles danced on my tongue, but the real celebration was in my heart. Two of the people I cared about the most had just vowed to spend their lives together, and I couldn't be happier for them.I watched as Grayson approached me, his smile wide and warm. SYLVIA'S POVI pushed my cart to the checkout line, trying to ignore the hum of the supermarket's television broadcasting the latest news. The report was a grim reminder of the chaos that had overtaken my life these past few weeks. Alice had managed to evade capture, despite the police's best efforts, and now her escape was dominating the headlines. The screen showed a grainy image of Alice from a surveillance camera, her face partially obscured as she slipped away. Todd Marlon and his wife, the couple who helped her, were also being sought, but it was clear Alice was the priority. My fingers tapped impatiently on the shopping cart handle as I waited for the cashier to finish scanning my groceries. I could hardly focus on the small talk she tried to make. My mind kept drifting back to the kids—Zenith and Zendaya—and the constant fear that loomed over us. ALICE'S POVI could hear the buzzing of news reporters and paparazzi as my car came to a stop. The flashing cameras and shouted questions were almost deafening. I adjusted my black pantsuit, the fabric feeling too tight and heavy as I prepared for the day ahead. This wasn’t how I had envisioned my court hearing. The last few weeks had been a whirlwind of stress and paranoia. I’d been so engrossed in my schemes that I failed to notice the net closing around me.Taking a deep breath, I tried to steady myself. The reality of the situation was sinking in—I hadn’t managed to cover my tracks as thoroughly as I’d thought. The thought of being caught off-guard was infuriating. My only real ace in the hole was the fact that I technically owned Lockwood; it’s hard to embezzle from a company you own. The charges against me were primarily about being an accomplice in the kidnapping of Zenith and Zendaya. But I was confident there was no solid evidence linking me directly to the crime. Beverly was

The knot seemed to mock my efforts, slipping just out of reach of perfection. As I fumbled with the silk, I felt Sylvia’s presence behind me. Her gentle touch on my shoulders was a comforting contrast to my frustration.“Let me help,” she said softly. Her hands moved with practiced ease, guiding the tie into place. I felt her warmth as she adjusted the fabric, smoothing it down and securing it. When she finished, she gave a reassuring pat on my shoulders. Her eyes, usually so full of confidence, held a hint of worry. I could tell she was anxious about the upcoming meeting, about what this day might bring.“It’ll be okay,” I said, turning to face her. “Everything’s going to be fine.”Sylvia gave me a small, but hopeful smile.
