Hazel's work environment had become increasingly difficult due to Arin ever since they've been partnered together. She wasn't making things easy for her at all. She almost didn't have issues sharing her office if Arin had paddled her canoe but she had this habit of belittling Hazel and finding fault with her work.

Despite Hazel's best efforts to ignore Arin's behavior, she found it increasingly difficult to cope with it. The final straw came when Arin accused Hazel of a mistake that she hadn't made in front of the entire office. It was so embarrassing because everyone in the office respected her because they knew she couldn't make such simple mistakes. This led Hazel to take the matter up with the CEO. She had vowed not to ever go to Gerald's office, she was ready to stay totally away from him but she couldn't help it this time, she just had to get rid of Arin.

Hazel knocked on the Gerald's door and waited for him to invite her in. "Come in," he said, looking up from his des

"Hey Hazel, it's good to see you here," I heard someone say as he hugged me from behind. From the grip around me, I knew immediately it was a guy but which guy could dare hug me like that? It wasn't that I had ever been friends with one who had now perhaps recognized. I took a deep breath, deciding not to get angry at anyone, it could be someone I would be glad to see. I turned around to face the person when I saw Tom smiling broadly at me and I had to smiled back at him, not because I was happy it was someone I knew but because I felt it was normal to. "Hey Tom, it is good to see you too," I said and I meant it. "I heard you've been assigned to this department, I couldn't contain my joy when I heard it." Tom said. "That's great news! We'll be working together now. I wouldn't have to always go to the other department to come learn new things since my tutor will always be here right beside me." I nodded, feeling a bit nervous about my new environment. The building was in

Arin stood nervously in front of Gerald's office, her hand trembling as she knocked on the door. She had been thinking if it was right to tell Gerald about this because she had never had to report anything scandalous to him before. But this time, she felt she had no choice. She had seen something she shouldn't have, and she knew it was her duty to report it to her boss. If not for the main purpose of it, it would be for the purpose of ruining that budding romance between them. "You can come in," Gerald's voice boomed from inside the office. Arin took a deep breath and pushed open the door. Gerald was sitting at his desk, his brow furrowed in concentration as he read through a stack of papers. He looked up as Arin entered, his expression softening as he saw her standing there. "Arin, what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost," he said, standing up and walking around the desk to greet her. Arin hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to broach the subject. Finally, she took a dee

Tom sat at his desk, staring blankly at his computer screen. He couldn't focus on his work, not after what had just happened with Hazel. He couldn't believe that she was being forced to leave the new department she was transferred to because of the rumors that had been spread about them. He had heard the whispers around the office, the way people looked at him and Hazel when they were together. He had tried to ignore it, to brush it off as just office gossip, but now it was affecting Hazel's career. It wasn't fair. He picked up his phone and dialed Hazel's number. It rang a few times before she answered. "Hey," she said, her voice tired. "How are you holding up?" Tom asked. "I'm okay," Hazel replied, but Tom could hear the hurt in her voice. "I can't believe they're making you leave because of this," Tom said, frustration seeping into his words. "It's okay, Tom. I'll be fine. I just need to pack up my things and move to my old department," Hazel said. "Bu

Over the next few weeks, Hazel and Gerald's interactions became more cordial. They would greet each other in the hallway and exchange pleasantries, but they wouldn't linger too long in each other's company. Hazel could see that Gerald was trying to keep his distance from her, and it made her feel more comfortable around him. One day, as Hazel was leaving the office, she realized that it was raining outside. She didn't have an umbrella, and she didn't want to get wet. As she was standing in the doorway, trying to decide what to do, she saw Gerald walking towards her. "Hey, Hazel. Do you need an umbrella?" Gerald asked, holding out his own umbrella. Hazel was taken aback by Gerald's offer. She didn't know what to say or how to react. "Uh, thank you, sir. That's very kind of you," Hazel replied, feeling a bit flustered. Gerald smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. He knew that he couldn't be with Hazel in the way that he wanted, but he also knew that he could stil

Hazel had been daydreaming about this date all day long. She wondered where they would go and what they would do. She also wondered what she would wear. She decided to call her best friend, Nilma, for advice. After describing the situation to her, Nilma squealed with excitement and immediately started suggesting different outfit options. "Okay, so hear me out," Nilma began. "You could wear that cute floral dress you just bought. Pair it with some strappy sandals and a denim jacket for a chic look. Or, if you want something more casual, you could wear those high-waisted jeans with a cropped sleeveless top and some converse sneakers. And don't forget to accessorize - a statement necklace or hoop earrings would add the perfect finishing touch to either outfit." “Alright. Thank you very much. I am just nervous but I am sure everything will go well." "Exactly dear. But wait, I want you to tell me one thing, how did things happen so fast between you two? I still can't

Arin was walking through the cafeteria when she saw Hazel and Gerald, sitting at a table together. They were laughing and chatting, and Arin couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy and anger rise up inside her. Arin stood there, staring at Hazel and Gerald while they finished up their meals. The anger couldn't stop bubbling inside her like a volcano ready to erupt. She could not believe what she was seeing, the two people she had been watching from afar having what seemed like a casual and intimate conversation. There was something about the way Hazel was looking at Gerald that was entirely too familiar to her. It couldn't just be that Gerald was trying to make her comfortable around him. It seemed as if they shared something deeper than that of a C.E.O and an employee. Arin refused to believe what Gerald had told him. As they sat. As they laughed, chatted and shared a few moments, Arin could read a certain chemistry between the two of them. It was a natural, almost electri

Arin had decided to keep her eyes on Gerald as she had noticed that he had been going out of his office and coming out with no specific reason. It was as if he was looking for some one. All of a sudden again after Gerald received a call, he stood up and walked out of the office, smiling brightly like someone who just received one of the best news of his life. "Arin. I will be right back, don't come out of my office. Our clients are still online and I will like you to continue the chat with them." He told Arin before moving. "Why can't you finish this yourself? What could be more important than this deal for now? You need to finalize things yourself, the board of directors will be here anytime soon... Where should I tell them you went to?" After a one-hour recess, the doors of the courtroom swung open, and a solemn silence fell over the room. Mark Wilson, adorned in a disheveled suit, returned to his seat next to his defense attorney as he disgustingly glared at Gerald. The tension in the air was palpable as all eyes turned towards him. The judge, a stern figure draped in black robes, resumed his position on the elevated bench. He surveyed the room with an air of authority, his gaze landing on Mark Wilson. "Mr. Wilson, it is time for your final defense to present any evidence supporting your innocence," he declared, his voice resonating through the room. Mark Wilson's attorney, a middle-aged man with graying hair, rose from his seat, his expression anxious. He glanced towards Mark, his eyes filled with unease, and then nervously addressed the judge. "Your Honor, unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances and lack of conclusive evidence, we have no additional exhibits or witnesses to present. However,

Gerald closed the door behind him and leaned against it, feeling exhausted and drained. He had just spent hours at the police station with his lawyer, Mr. James, trying to prove that Mark was the one who had been blackmailing Hazel, his fiancee, for months. Gerald rubbed his eyes and sighed. He looked at his watch and saw that it was past midnight. He wondered if Hazel was still awake, waiting for him. He pushed himself away from the door and walked towards their bedroom, hoping to find her asleep in their bed. He reached the bedroom door and opened it quietly, not wanting to wake her up if she was sleeping. He stepped inside and saw her sitting on the bed, wearing a white nightgown that contrasted with her dark hair. She looked up at him with wide eyes that reflected the moonlight coming through the window. She smiled faintly and said in a soft voice: “Gerald… you’re back.” He smiled back at her and walked towards the bed, dropping his briefcase on the flo

The dimly lit police station was filled with an air of tension as Gerald stood beside his lawyer, Mr. James. They both shared a look of determination, while Mark looked nervously around. The room was cold, with gray walls and a flickering fluorescent light overhead, casting an eerie glow on the worn-out furniture. Officer Jacobs, a middle-aged man with a stern expression, entered the room. He had a no-nonsense demeanor that intimidated even the most composed individuals. He approached Mark, handcuffs in his hand. "Mark Wilson, if I get that right, you're under arrest for the alleged blackmail of Mr. Gerald Carrington Fraser's fiancée," Officer Jacobs declared, his voice firm. Mark's eyes widened with what seemed like disbelief. "What? No, Officer, you've got it all wrong. I would never do such a thing! I was in my room when these two men barged in. Firstly, I could have charged them for invasion of privacy, but I didn't. Now, they are accusing me of what? This is what we

Hazel looked at Gerald, her heart pounding as she wondered where to start the whole narration from. Obviously, she wasn't at fault because she didn't do anything but would Gerald believe that? He knew that she was obsessive, so if something like that happened, no one would want to doubt it. And here she was again, the fact that she hid it from everyone will make it seem as though she was trying to cover up for herself. "Why are you silent? Speak up! You need to say something." Gerald said, almost yelling. "I don't want to care what happened. Just tell me in details. Who is Mark and why is he blackmailing you? It is had simple as that." Hazel took a deep breath, and sat up for the sake of comfort. "Promise me you won't hurt me." "Does it matter? Just tell me what happened." "I really didn't do anything, I swear. I was being blackmailed falsely because I know the consequences of it getting out." Hazel said, her gaze apologetic as she spoke. "If you didn't do an

Hazel turned her head and saw Gerald standing in the doorway a soft smile on his face. "Good morning my love. How are you feeling today?" Gerald asked his voice filled with genuine concern. Hazel mustered a weak smile and replied "I'm getting there slowly but surely. Thank you for taking care of me Gerald." Gerald crossed the room, his footsteps gentle on the hardwood floor. Taking care of you is the least I can do after what happened l," he said his voice filled with determination. Hazel gazed into his eyes filled with gratitude and love.

Gerald's heart pounded in his chest as he paced back and forth his mind racing with worry and fear. How could this have happened? Hazel was always so careful so cautious. He searched for answers trying to make sense of the accident that had turned his world upside down. As he continued to pace, his mind kept replaying the words the nurse had spoken just moments ago "I'm sorry but Hazel is still in the theatre and we have no news about her condition." Those words seemed to echo endlessly in his mind. The unknown was tormenting him; he was desperate for answers for any sign of hope. He didn't know who to call and discuss this issue with. He was so stressed out. Just as he was about to lose all hope his phone began to ring, startling him from his thoughts. He fumbled to grab it his hands trembling. Why couldn't you wake me up when you came in?" He said. Darting his eyes around the living room, Gerald searched for any sign of his fiancée. To his dismay there was no trace of Hazel, no shoes by the front door, no handbag on the kitchen counter.
