CHAPTER 8: Bored

'ANOTHER BORING DAY.' That is the perfect description of my day. After what I saw it in the cafeteria yesterday, my mind was just filled with a bunch of unanswered questions. I almost panic when I thought that they are here too. That they are after me again.

But, on the second thought, this is what they want. They want me to leave Mageia. While I want to have a normal life to start anew. And with these kinds of thoughts, I didn't notice that I have slept last night in paranoia.

I just let go of a sigh as I realize how boring my life is as I decided to live a 'normal' one — if you can still consider it as normal. Waking up each morning with my burnt door. Attending every boring class. Having lunch with friends. Going home after class. Doing my assignments, if there are. And, sleep whenever I decided to.

The cycle just repeats itself every day. Nothing is new. This is not the life I'm used to. And now, I question myself, 'Is the decision I made is what I really want?' But I was snapped back to reality when someone speaks.

"Hira," Shiloh said as he pokes me with his ballpen. And he is also one of the things who ruins my idea of a normal life. He always appears out of nowhere. To a point that I thought he can perform teleportation ability. He's very talkative. And most of all, he looks like a walking smiley face.

I just stared at him in response but the madman just laughed. "You're not listening to our teacher again." He said as he chuckles. "I do not care." I retort as I turn my gaze to the window. What am I going to listen to? She's just talking about her life. What can I learn there?

"Okay, class. I have an announcement." Our teacher said, and that caught my attention. I turn my gaze in front once again and look at our teacher.

"There will be no classes this coming Monday until Wednesday, for it is our school's celebration of foundation day. The headmaster decided to cancel the class instead of having different booths because—" And I didn't pay attention to the next words coming from her mouth. I just turn back my gaze to the window and watch the trees dancing along with the wind.

And I smile as I've already heard the main point of her announcement.

'No classes means a long, long weekend.'

"Emma! Give me the remote of this magical box!"

"That's TV, Matt! And you've been watching for hours! It's my turn now!"

I just roll my eyes at the twins who were already fighting just because of the remote of the television.

We have been here at the mansion since its long weekend. And as usual, we did nothing. Fortunately, Matt did not think of the number of leaves in the garden. They just fight over the remote control.

"What are you two fighting for?" I asked the two who just about to wrestle in the living room. The two were stunned in their respective positions. Emma was already on the sofa with her hand raised. Matt was on the floor stumbling and frowning.

"Emma gets the remote of this magical box! The remote is mine!" Matt's childish complaint. He also seems to be crying any time from now.

"It's my turn, Matt. You've been watching for hours! And what are you watching again? Sofia the first?" Emma's defense while eyeing at her twin intently.

"Hey! I'm still the older one. You should respect me. I'm still two minutes older than you!" Matt shouted but Emma makes faces at him.

"Is it my fault that you are not worth to be respected, my older brother Matt?" Emma replied while emphasizing the phrase 'my older brother'. And that is the verge of another wrestling match. I just sigh and did not join their childish fight. I just sat on the sofa and read a book.

This is ways better than minding their childish fight. A few minutes passed and I heard nothing. I thought my world would be peaceful. But, I seem to have thought that only when I heard something rattles and clashing of broken objects. After that, I suddenly fell silent as a man hid behind me.

"Hira, please stop Emma! She's going to turn me into ashes! She's going to cremate me alive!" I just sigh once again and did not bother to look at the twins.

The twins and their childish fight. Psh.

"I'll definitely make you ashes when I get out of this ice!" Emma shouted. But the sound of her voice sounded like her voice came underground. I roam my eyes around and I felt like I wanted to seal their power for the rest of their lives.

Half of the living room carpet was burned. There are burn marks on the wall to the ceiling. The couch is covered with ice. And finally, there is an ice coffin in the middle of the hall shaped in a figure of a woman.

It looks like a tomb with a pharaoh inside. I could hear the pounding inside maybe she was punching it from the inside.

I gently touched the tomb and it quickly dissipated into thin air. It seemed to melt but instead of being water, it disappeared into the air. I looked at the twins who were still stunned and both fell silent probably wondering.

Well. Even I do not know how this happened. I don't even know what power is it.

I just shrugged off the idea rather than choosing to have another headache. I just decided to go to the home library. I want some peace and silence.

I met Butler Ulric along the way and was told to fix the damage first. He just nods in response and takes his track to the living room.

Again, I confronted the twin who was the culprit of the destruction of the living room. Both of them can't look me in the eye, as they both turn their gaze to another direction. Like them, I'm bored having an ordinary life. And with that, I came up with a decision.

"Hey, I'm bored. Let's have a little tour of our realm, Mageia."
