I knew as soon as my mother left, River wouldn’t pass the opportunity to question me who Angelica was, especially since my mother made it seem like she almost ruined my life.

Technically, it’s not a lie, but honestly, I’m in a much better place than ever. The last thing I needed to do was reminisce on my high school sweetheart, whom I dated all through and even after college.
