ASSUMPTIONS OR FACTS?

"Good morning." A worker greeted as Megan and Julie waited for the elevator. Megan nodded in response to the greeting. The elevator door swished open, and they stepped in together with Ruth; she pressed the floor of her office, and the elevator began to move.

There was silence in the elevator as it moved; soon enough, the doors opened, and they stepped out. When they reached her office, Ruth was the first to enter. She did a quick survey of the room, and when she saw Megan and Julie looking at her in confusion, she spoke.

"Protocols." She informed them. "It is for your safety, I needed to know if someone was lurking somewhere here." She said.

Megan's mouth twitched. There was no need to be so extra. Her office was the safest place she could be. Only authorized people can come to her office.

She let out an awkward smile. "Thank you." Will she ever get used to this? Probably not.

"I will leave you now," Ruth told her then left the office and went to stay outside, not far from her.
