Angela sighed, her eyes avoiding him.

"Jace, I've made up my mind.

Jace shook his head, his expression unyielding. “You're making a mistake, Angela. You're running away from your problems instead of facing them head-on.”

Angela's face tightened in a firm line.

"I'm doing what I have to do, Jace. I have to put our family first, and this is what's best for us. Staying isn't safe”.

Jace eye's widened in surprise.

“What do you mean by staying isn't safe? Is there anything I am yet to know?”

Angela said nothing.

The kids stopped at the elevator and Angela caught up with them.

Jace sighed and carried one of the boxes.

As they stepped into the elevator, Angela pressed the button for the first floor, and the doors slid shut behind them, closing the door on a tumultuous past.

The elevator descended, and the four of them stood in silence, Angela's mind calculating all that Jace said to her.

As the doors opened on the first floor, they stepped out.

The cab driver approached them.
