CHAPTER 212

~3RD PERSON'S POV~

~Many years ago~

The sunset over Mystic Meadow was beautiful that evening. The sky had gone from bright blue to orange in only a few hours, and the sunlight on the horizon between the lake and the sky was nothing short of breathtaking. The sounds of nocturnal birds and insects chirping from the surrounding forest and the sound of the multiple streams channelled from the lake added to the serene nature of the environment.

Lord Robert and his beta sat in a small boat on the lake. They had rowed far away from their mansion to witness the gorgeous sunset. It had always been a dream of Lord Robert’s to watch the sunset with a close friend.

“This is amazing, isn't it?” Lord Robert spoke with a smile on his face. He had dark blue eyes, black hair, and dark leather clothing.

“It definitely is, but we should head back soon. Your father is going to get really upset if he finds out I took you this far away from the mansion.” The beta answered with worry in his voic

CHAPTER 213~3RD PERSON'S POV~Cynthia walked through the passages of the Mortimer Mansion early in the morning. She held her clipboard in her left hand, and her eyes moved from door to door. She had created a system where all the maids had to check in for work every morning after the bell rang, so she could know which maid wasn't following her new rule. She made sure to wake up an hour before the bell sounded, so she could inspect the mansion thoroughly and know where work was needed, so the maids wouldn't cheat their way out of their chores. She marched through different passages, inspected different halls, and put down notes that would help her remember. After forty minutes of inspection, she marched back toward her room, staring at her clipboard with a smile on her face. Her eyes beamed with excitement, knowing she had all the power in the world. She could bend every maid in the mansion to her will, and no one could do anything about it. Her goal was to change how things worked

I was attacked early this morning by someone,” Cynthia said, leaning forward.“Was it one of the maids?” Marie asked.“Well, I couldn't tell. The person was in his or her wolf form. Judging from the size of the beast, it's possible that it was a warrior wolf. But the maids have more motives," Cynthia said.“And what motive might that be?” Marie asked, hoping for a very reasonable answer. Cynthia leaned even closer, squinting her eyes. “To take my position as assistant headmaid from me. All these maids are jealous; I can see it in their eyes. I just can't figure out which one of them would go as far as committing murder to achieve that goal,” Cynthia whispered.Marie placed her right palm on her forehead and used her fingers to gently massage it, letting out a slow sigh. “Look, no one wants that position, okay? Firstly, it's too much work. Secondly, no one likes being hated

CHAPTER 215 ~3RD PERSON'S POV~ Mary groaned softly, her eyes opening up. She felt a warm gust of wind blowing over her face and through her hair, and as her vision cleared up, she found herself standing on the edge of a tall building that was surrounded by flames. She gasped in shock and quickly stepped back so she wouldn't fall off the edge. Breathing heavily, she looked around in confusion. “Where am I?” She asked, her voice echoing for a few seconds, then fading out after each word. She looked around the building she was on and found a billboard standing close to one edge. She walked toward it, raising her right palm—her red aura surrounded her entire hand, and she used telekinetic waves produced by her aura to rip the metal board off the ground. She turned it around and found her location, boldly written at the top: Mystic Meadow. Mary gasped again. She turned her gaze away from the billboard and looked down at the ground. Fire has caught the entire city, and dead bodies, b

His eyes glowed bright blue, and he growled loudly, pulling on the rogue's arm with all the strength he could muster. “Stop resisting my power, boy. Just give in and join the dark side. I assure you, you will not regret it,” the rogue king said with a smile, tightening his grip even more. A cold whisk of wind suddenly blew by, and the rogue king's arm instantly split in two. “Aghhh!!” He groaned in pain as he staggered backward, his arm bleeding profusely. Robbert fell to his knees, breathing heavily after he had pulled the hand off his throat. He threw the arm to the ground, and slowly turned to the rogue king, his eyes glowing bright blue. “What was that? That was not your power,” the rogue king asked, holding his right arm in an attempt to stop the bleeding. “No, it wasn't. But that i

It was late at night, and the moon was high. The breeze that blew through the gardens in front of the mansion was cold to the skin, and the sound of the leaves rustling almost completely shielded every other nightly sound.Robbert stopped in front of the entrance. He clenched his fists tightly and gritted his teeth, his eyes slowly becoming glassy and a lump forming in his throat.Edith walked to him and quickly wrapped her finger around his left fist. "Robbert, please calm down. I know you're really upset, but you have to understand that your father didn't mean all that. He’s just trying to get the best out of you. He's just really upset that you almost died,” Edith said with a soft tone. “Edith, my father doesn't care about me. All he cares about is this pack. All he wants is for me to be

He had a concerned expression on his face, and his heart was filled with worry for his best friend. They both sat on a bench along the street in front of the wedding hall. An ambulance had arrived, and people were gathered there. “Thank you, Lord Robbert,” Geoffrey said softly. He turned to the other end of the street and saw Edith sitting by herself on a bench opposite theirs.“It looks like Edith couldn't handle the shock very well either. Corina was a close friend to her, so she needs your support now more than I do. You should go comfort her,” Geoffrey said.Robbert let out a sigh. “Alright then, I'll see you later,” he said, then got off his seat. He shook hands with Geoffrey, then crossed the street to be with Edith. As he got closer to her, he saw that she was crying. He sat beside her and reached for her hand. Edith quickly

If you do not win this fight and become alpha of the Night-Howl Pack, you will be banished for life, and your love will be executed,” Lord Dragnon said. “Aren’t you ashamed of yourself, old man, fighting with your child over an issue such as this? In fact, as the Immortal of Fate, she already knew they would win, and she already knew who would bring that victory, but she wasn't allowed to say a word to anyone. What she wasn't sure of was if they had survived or not, because she refused to look that far into the future.“Do you think they'll return safely?” Maria asked with worry in her voice. CHAPTER 307~3RD PERSON’S POV~Marie and her sisters, Cortana and Yuna, sat inside a large metal dome created by Angela. Angla had created multiple domes like this to accommodate the entire army of Vedantya, and this was because the temperature of the atmosphere has risen to an unbearable level. Daniella used her manipulation of heat to cool down the domes so the occupants wouldn't die of heat stroke. The air around the domes looked like it had been stained with gasoline fumes, and rocks around them had begun melting.Valerie tried again and again to open a portal but failed every single time. The spell that blocked her ability to use spatial magic wasn't very powerful but was somehow too complex for her to undo. It was like the spell reformed itself at light speed every time she broke it, and there was no way of stopping it.“This is bad. If we stay here longer than this, the whole world is going to melt down,” Angela said with worry on her face.“No, we can't give up yet; I'm sure I

CHAPTER 306~3RD PERSON’S POV~“What have you done to me?!!” Agnes yelled with a gory voice.“I poisoned you, Agnes. Ordinarily, poison wouldn't be enough to kill a witch like you, but depending on how powerful the poison is, it would be enough to weaken you. The souls of the fallen Immortals despise you, Agnes. But as much as they want to escape, as souls, they're not nearly strong enough to go against the spell you put on them. It's just like Sabbath and Mary; without Mary's body, Sabbath can't use his power. So, without Agnes's body, the immortals are weak to her spells. But spells require serious mental concentration and physical reinforcement to hold together, and once those two things weaken, the spell comes apart and the souls of the Immortals have their chance to escape.” Agnes gripped her stomach tightly as she felt an agonizing pain coming up. She bled from her nose and mouth as the souls of all the Immortals began seeping out of her body and flying off. “After the Immor

CHAPTER 304~3RD PERSON’S POV~Mary was accompanied into the building by a group of four people. Two of them were maids, and the other two were Agnes’s soldiers. All four of them still had that eerie smile on their faces, and their eyes still glowed bright red, making them look like their minds were being controlled. They walked into the glass building and led Mary to a magical elevator that didn’t require electricity to work. Mary had her guard up, prepared to launch an attack at anyone who tried to annoy her. At this moment, she was already very pissed off, and anyone who tried to attack her now would be walking into their grave. The elevator door closed and started to rise up the building. Everyone was unusually quiet, and none of Mary’s escorts wanted to make eye contact with her. Mary watched them through the glass wall in front of her—they looked like dolls, stiff and lifeless, like they had been programmed to only move when they were given orders. The elevator rose for over tw

It didn't matter what the team did or what amount of power they used; the Asuras just kept coming like an endless sea of stars. The Asuras armor-like skin had become so strong that Edith's blade and Anima Morning Star both broke on impact. The two Immortals had to summon their weapons again and again during the fight just to avoid getting killed. They had to look for a new way to kill these Immortals, and that way was to attack them at points where their armour didn't cover—the gaps in the skin that revealed their glowing orange flesh. Targeting these parts was especially difficult for the werewolves because they didn't have long-range weapons, and getting too close t
