CHAPTER 202

~3RD PERSON'S POV~

Mary and Nicole sat quietly on opposite couches in the living room of Lady Anaya's house. Mary stared down at the table between them, trying to figure out what to say to her aunt. It had been a very long time since she set eyes on Miss Nicole, and the atmosphere in the room felt very dense, probably due to the conversation they had the last time.

“Umm, I'm sorry I argued.” Mary was about to speak when Nicole raised her palm to stop her. Edith walked into the living room with a cup of tea and a ceramic bowl of sliced fruit. She placed them on the table and said to Nicole with a smile, “If you need anything else please don't hesitate to call me.”

“Thank you, Edith. My deepest condolences for the loss of Lady Anaya. She was a great woman. A woman that none of the others can measure up to. She will be remembered for generations to come,” Nicole said with a soft smile.

“Thank you, Miss Nicole. I'll be in the kitchen,” Edith said as a smile formed on her fac

CHAPTER 203~3RD PERSON'S POV~Lunaris walked around Steven's office, inspecting his collection of books and the large map he had on his wall. She passed her fingers over a few portraits of Steven’s relatives hanging beside the map and slowly moved them over the map. Her eyes filled with wonder as she stared at the large landscapes and faraway places, scaled down into small, hand-drawn representations. Her fingers suddenly stopped at a point along a mountain range.“This place... where is this place?” Lunaris asked with a skeptical look on her face. Steven raised his head as he heard her voice. He slowly turned to her and let out a sigh, looking very disinterested in whatever she was doing. He stared at the point her finger was on for a moment, then replied.“That's the middle of nowhere. There is only a really thick forest there, and according to all of my books, anyone who ventures into those woods gets lost forever. You should know this. You created the world after all.” Lunaris

CHAPTER 204 ~3RD PERSON'S POV~ Loud and cheerful sounds filled the cafeteria as Lunaris, Marian, Lily, Valerie, and Angela laughed and joked together at a round table during breakfast. Lunaris had already started to mingle with and get close to Gabriella's friends. She was nice and easy-going. She had always wanted to sit together with mortals and live with them through their short, happy lives, not just watch them from far above. Every maid in the mansion had fallen in love with her down-to-earth personality, except one. Marie watched the girls with a scornful look as they laughed among each other. She stood behind the serving counter, cleaning a ceramic dish with a thick cloth. She no longer needed to wear her blindfold, as everyone knew what her eyes looked like and accepted her the way she was. “She’s a really nice person, isn't she?” Christine said with a smile on her face, stopping beside Marie. Marie turned to her, stared for a moment, then turned back to the dish she

What do you mean by no?” Christine asked as she got up from Gregory’s bed with a puzzled look on her face.“Chritine, I know what you’re about to ask of me, and my answer is no. Evelyn is a crazy person; letting her out of her cell would be a big mistake. Steven tolerated her all those years because of his partnership with your father, but he’s had it with her, and so have I." Gregory said, his tone getting a little more aggressive than before.Christine let out a sigh and said softly, “But, Gregory, she’s a changed person. All she wants now is to be with her family; that’s all. I know you’re worried about Steven’s wellbeing...”“It’s not Steven’s wellbeing I’m worried about; it's yours. Have you already forgotten that you almost died because that woman brought wolfsbane into the mansion? If it wasn’t for Gabriella, you wouldn’t even be here right now. After surviving the poison, you were stuck in bed for a few days, but your so-called sister didn’t

CHAPTER 206~3RD PERSON'S POV~~13 years ago~A twelve-year-old Steven kneeled quietly in front of a burning tree. He let out slow, soft breaths as he stared at the raging flames with fear in his eyes. His face and white clothes were stained with ash, and his black hair was a mess. Laying in his arms was a young girl who had blond hair and light skin. She wore a bright yellow dress and had elbow-length, translucent gloves on both arms. She sobbed silently into Steven's chest as the cackling sounds from the flames resounded in her ears.Steven gently placed his palm on her head and spoke softly.“It's okay… You're safe now, Evelyn.”~Present day~Steven sat quietly in his office, doing what he usually does: staring at his papers. After examining a few documents, he raised his head and let out a soft sigh. He gently sank into his seat’s backrest and stared at the office door. Steven didn't look like it, but he was very worried. He thought about all the things Evelyn had done to him in

CHAPTER 207~3RD PERSON'S POV~Christine and Evelyn finally arrived at their parents house after a long morning on the road. They both sat in the passenger seats behind, and Gregory sat in the driver seat. His job was to make sure that Christine and Evelyn made it home safely and to say hi to their parents because he hadn't come to visit since the war ended. The car they were in was a polished black Jeep only the upperclassmen could afford, and the name Mortimer was embossed into the license plate of the car. “Christine… I'm nervous,” Evelyn said softly, with a sad expression on her face. She wore a short, sleeveless black dress, had a diamond necklace on, and a couple of bracelets around her wrist. Her hair was tied in a large bun, sitting at the back of her head, and she wore light makeup. The moment she opened her mouth to speak, Gregory's brows furrowed and his eyes moved to the side. He wasn't at all a fan of this act she was putting on and wasn't comfortable with her being so

CHAPTER 208~3RD PERSON'S POV~Cynthia marched into the cafeteria early in the morning, holding a clipboard with both her hands. Two other maids followed behind her with smiles on their faces. One carried a large, empty basket, and the other carried a wooden tray. Marie and Clarabelle stared at Cynthia silently as she walked to the centre of the cafeteria.“What’s she up to now?” Marie asked, squinting her eyes.“She’s just a young, excited maid. I don't think you should take her so seriously, Marie,” Clarabelle said, turning back to Marie.Cynthia stopped at the centre of the cafeteria, then took a deep breath.“Good morning, fair ladies of the Mortimer mansion,” she said loudly.“Good morning, Madame Cynthia.” All the maids in the cafeteria replied in unison. “Madame?” Clarabelle asked.“Yeah, the last time she did this, she said everyone should refer to her as Madame now that she's an assistant to the head maid. She's so annoying,” Marie replied. “As you all know, the headmaid is

CHAPTER 209~3RD PERSON'S POV~Lunaris and Marie stood in the gardens, attending to the plants. Marie used large scissors to cut off overgrown branches from the bushes, and Lunaris used a watering kettle to water the roses. Marie was really good at gardening since she was a cleaning maid for a while, but wasn't too much of an expert because she was first a serving/cooking maid before being moved to the cleaning department due to the shortage of maids there. Lunaris, on the other hand, was a complete novice at the task. They both wore bright, dark green gloves, colorful gardening aprons with flowery designs, and brown boots. Marie's eyes were focused on the job she was doing—the only sounds she could hear were her scissors chipping away overly long branches and leaves and the rustling of the rose bushes. Lunaris walked over to the other side of the bush she was on and turned her kettle over on the bush.Gently sprinkling water on the roses and leaves, she said softly, “I didn't thank y

With the aroma that serenaded the entire house, one would think a feast was being prepared. Edith's eyes were focused on a carrot she was slicing. She seemed to be taking a lot more time than usual. Her face seemed bothered by something.“How did you come to work for the dragon family?” Mary's last question resounded in her head. Her chopping suddenly got faster and faster as different sounds filled her ears. Memories she didn't want to remember started to flood in, and as the knife cut through her left index finger, she was instantly snapped out of her reverie. She turned to the finger and watched the wound heal itself almost instantly, then she turned back to the carrot, which had now been stained by he

They had been waiting for Marie and the others to return for hours, but there was no sign of them returning at all.Clarabelle did well to protect everyone from the intense heat, and now that the sun had moved away from the earth, she was sure that Marie and her friends had won the battle. In fact, as the Immortal of Fate, she already knew they would win, and she already knew who would bring that victory, but she wasn't allowed to say a word to anyone. What she wasn't sure of was if they had survived or not, because she refused to look that far into the future.“Do you think they'll return safely?” Maria asked with worry in her voice. She has lost her husband before and was very afraid of losing him again.Clarabelle turned to her and saw the worry in her eyes, then turned away. “Let’s just be hopeful,” she said softly. A f

I put you to sleep for over four months to get some things done in your world. Now that my plot is complete, I'd like you to return and continue living the life you've always wanted,” Lunaris said with a smile.“Oh, you mean I didn't have to die for you to take my body?” Gabriella asked.“Yes, Gabriella. If everyone knew that you were still alive, they would not have grown as much as they have now... especially Marie. I had to make everyone believe that your death was necessary for me to come to this world, so that the plot I couldn't finish years ago would finally be completed,” Lunaris responded.“Oh, I can't believe it's been four months already. • MATED TO THE RUTHLESS LYCAN KING   CHAPTER 307: HER RESURRECTION

CHAPTER 307~3RD PERSON’S POV~Marie and her sisters, Cortana and Yuna, sat inside a large metal dome created by Angela. Angla had created multiple domes like this to accommodate the entire army of Vedantya, and this was because the temperature of the atmosphere has risen to an unbearable level. Daniella used her manipulation of heat to cool down the domes so the occupants wouldn't die of heat stroke. The air around the domes looked like it had been stained with gasoline fumes, and rocks around them had begun melting.Valerie tried again and again to open a portal but failed every single time. The spell that blocked her ability to use spatial magic wasn't very powerful but was somehow too complex for her to undo. It was like the spell reformed itself at light speed every time she broke it, and there was no way of stopping it.“This is bad. If we stay here longer than this, the whole world is going to melt down,” Angela said with worry on her face.“No, we can't give up yet; I'm sure I

CHAPTER 306~3RD PERSON’S POV~“What have you done to me?!!” Agnes yelled with a gory voice.“I poisoned you, Agnes. Ordinarily, poison wouldn't be enough to kill a witch like you, but depending on how powerful the poison is, it would be enough to weaken you. The souls of the fallen Immortals despise you, Agnes. But as much as they want to escape, as souls, they're not nearly strong enough to go against the spell you put on them. It's just like Sabbath and Mary; without Mary's body, Sabbath can't use his power. So, without Agnes's body, the immortals are weak to her spells. But spells require serious mental concentration and physical reinforcement to hold together, and once those two things weaken, the spell comes apart and the souls of the Immortals have their chance to escape.” Agnes gripped her stomach tightly as she felt an agonizing pain coming up. She bled from her nose and mouth as the souls of all the Immortals began seeping out of her body and flying off. “After the Immor

CHAPTER 304~3RD PERSON’S POV~Mary was accompanied into the building by a group of four people. Two of them were maids, and the other two were Agnes’s soldiers. All four of them still had that eerie smile on their faces, and their eyes still glowed bright red, making them look like their minds were being controlled. They walked into the glass building and led Mary to a magical elevator that didn’t require electricity to work. Mary had her guard up, prepared to launch an attack at anyone who tried to annoy her. At this moment, she was already very pissed off, and anyone who tried to attack her now would be walking into their grave. The elevator door closed and started to rise up the building. Everyone was unusually quiet, and none of Mary’s escorts wanted to make eye contact with her. Mary watched them through the glass wall in front of her—they looked like dolls, stiff and lifeless, like they had been programmed to only move when they were given orders. The elevator rose for over tw

They all fought with rage in their hearts, determined to end the battle as quickly as possible, but the Asuras were just too many. It didn't matter what the team did or what amount of power they used; the Asuras just kept coming like an endless sea of stars. The Asuras armor-like skin had become so strong that Edith's blade and Anima Morning Star both broke on impact. The two Immortals had to summon their weapons again and again during the fight just to avoid getting killed. They had to look for a new way to kill these Immortals, and that way was to attack them at points where their armour didn't cover—the gaps in the skin that revealed their glowing orange flesh. Targeting these parts was especially difficult for the werewolves because they didn't have long-range weapons, and getting too close t

They both had already seen the helicopter fly off, so they knew Mary was already going against her parents. Their only problem was getting to the forcefield, as the distance it was from where they opened their portal was too much. “Hey, couldn't you just use spacial magic to take us there? This is bad; it means we can't teleport home unless we can find a place where I will be able to use spatial magic,” she responded. “But you're right,” she continued, then stopped
