GIOVANNI'S POV.
Not once, twice, or thrice had she stolen secret glances at me. I smacked my lips together hungrily. The mere thought of being alone with her made andrelaline pump through my veine, she tensed up after all I had blurted out what came to my mind.
The car pulled over, and a sigh eased across my lips as I helped her out of the car; slowly she set her palms into mine.
“This is your home now, our new home.” I announced, gloating imwardly with an air of pride, her eyes sparkled with joy—or was it a reflection of being gone from the pack which had basically destroyed her?
I grimmaced at the mere thought of it. Each one of them would pay; I'll make them regret setting a finger on her skin; every inch of her body belonged to me alone.
“I need rest. We wouldn't stand here all day, would we?” She asked, trying to keep her sarcasm although I had seen her face turn red when I asked that she put me on a leash.
"Simone,” I called out to her, reaching for her hair and coiling my fingers around the strand as she took out a heavy breath, which she had subconsciously held in all along.
“Nevermind.” I asserted, turning away and walking ahead into the room. The heavy door weered open and she strutted in behind me, her eyes glancing about.
“I had the workers leave; just a few of them are around in their quarters, its just you and I today.” I explained, seeing how confused she was.
“Why? I won't complain. I really don't mind." She spoke, yet it felt almost like a lie.
“We wouldn't want them to be around after all, I know how well you feel, and today I'm not letting you go that easily. We would have a lot of begging, screaming, pounding. and creaking, We wouldn't want the maids to hear all that, would we?”
Her cheeks flushed red once more; she was quick to avert her gaze from mime; I felt a throb between my thighs; I fucking wanted her... merely recalling last night made me cock twitch from excitement.
“Our room.” I offered, guiding her hands toward the entrance. “Do you like it?” I asked.
She nodded slowly, still acting all tensed around me. However briefly, something had flashed through her orbs.
“Our?” I nodded with a soft laughter.
“We are married, Simone... " Well, on paper, I'll have it legal soon. Where would you expect an alpha to sleep? If not in the same room with his luna?” I asked, and her gaze widened as I spoke. There it was. the look I wamted.
She pursed up her lips, iddling with the hem of her drss, starring anywhere but at me.
“You and I... We are not married, Giovanni; you took me,” she argued, finally letting her eyes melt into mine.
“You wounded my heart princess, why on earth would I bother taking you if I had no interest in you?" Her response was a deafening silence.
Why was she so protective? The woman I met last night was daring, bold, fierce, but she sermed to be a totally different version of herself when sober.
“Do I need to get you drunk before you look me in the eyes, mia mor?” I whisked her into my arms, sitting on the bed, placing her above my laps, both my arms locking her in place, her back against my face.
I rubbed my chin on her shoulders; her scent flushed through my nostrils, yet like an intoxicating alchol, I wanted more of her.
My cock twitched the more, and I knew it was poking at her ass, yet she didn't stifle.
“I'm not Marcel!" I deadpanned. She turned her face to match mine.
“I didn't say you were.” She argued back, even when she knew it was a lie.
“You don't have to Simone... The way you sct, it bothers me, do I have to kill that bastard to make you feel at ease once again?" I enquired once more.
“You will,do that for me?” She asked slowly, almost all incocent, she was indeed a vixen. A dangerous one at that, and an amused smile settled on my lips. ”You know I would; I'll kill anyone for you, simone, so dont push me out; I want to be here by your side.” I argued further.
“You would get bored; I'm a fancy new toy... but I know you'll get tired of me soon enough." A loud laughter coursed through my lips, setting a loud echoe into the halls.
“Why? Its not funny you know, what we have is contractual, sooner or later..you will find your mate, and I won't be of any use, so let's be this way, I'll live silently until then,” she complained. I felt a nut screew loose in my brain, and hearing her speak of leaving made me irritated.
I set her off my lap and laid her back in bed.
“I love you, princess, and yes, given that you are mine, your worries are of no use. I have a mate, and shes dead, yet it hurts me even more to see that a lady I love takes me for a beast. Don't shut me out before you know who I am, Simone.”
“I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." She pleaded, her eyes holding a glassy appearance. Shit, I didn't intend to make her cry.
“Never mind… Get yourself cleaned and rest.. I'll be out breifly.”
She parted her lips to speak, or maybe she had whispered some words. I didn't want to listen, so I stormed out in the middle before slamming the door behind me.
Taking hasty steps towards the corridor. I could feel my heart racing in my chest; she had been testing my limits.
I wanted her so bad that I wanted her to accept me.
“Why did you lie to her?” My wolf vani had asked, fuming with anger within me.
“The moment she finds out the truth, she will leave us... I can't have that." I responded. My eyes trailed back toward the door, my heart still aching for her.
She must not find out the truth, not now, not ever; all I needed her to do was trust me, confide in me, and rely on me. I needed to have her wrapped around my fingers.
“You can't hide the truth forever; she's bound to know; She'll get curious; people don't just die.” My wolf argued; I cut him off the mindlink, grumbling beneath my breath; he always made unnecessary fuss, just like before.
I can't hide the truth forever?.
A sarcastic laughter escaped my lips.
Watch me.

SIMONE.Was he gone already?. I knew I was ungrateful, and I may have pushed further than I ought to, but I wouldn't make the same mistake twice. I needed him to understand that I wouldn't fall for his trick like I had with Marcel. That I wouldn't swoon after him, that I wouldn't foolishly put him as a first priority in hopes that with time he would love me, nor would I forget that I had no intentions to believe any word of affection that slid through his lips.Yet I couldn't thug this nagging feeling I got out of my belly; I slid into my flip-flops. Turning the doorknob before slowly peeking out. The corridors were well lit; I almost couldn't tell it was nighttime. His mansion was huge; I dared not go far, there were no maids around; I could get lost easily, but I didn't want to stay alone. I somehow craved his comfort.A loud screech eased through my lips as I flinched backwards, scared as fuck as I felt something brush on my skin.“It's just me.” His voice called out, I swallowed
GIOVANNI'S POV.“Stay away from me!” I retorted, pulling away from her lingering gaze.” Please Simone, not now..I can't I'll! Hurt you” I explained pushing further away .“You want me to have you on a leash, you promised to be my doh!” She snarled back, stopping !e grabbing me by the arms once again,Her touch melted down my spine and I felt so possessive about her, thankfully no one was home, or I would have gauged out any eyes that could see her at this moment.“Please princess, let me leave," I pleaded, but She pushed closer to me, pressing her lips against mine, her eyes staring directly into me.“I'm yours to claim, so go ahead, don't shy away from me Giovanni, I want you just as much as you want me.” She asserted making a town.“ but..”“I won't break, I'm quite strong.” She added in , I glanced at her, hair to toe, grinning before shoving her into my arms, kissing her ,pure hunger engulfing me .She wrapped her arms firmly around my neck as I devoured her lips into mine, kissin
SIMONES POV.Sudden panic engulfed me as soon as I split my orbs; my bed was empty; he wasn't in... He was gone.Memories of the previous occurrences flashed through my orbs. I felt foolish for giving myself away to him so easily, even after making a note not to be swooned. I trailed my hands over the bite mark lingering on my neck. He marked asked me,He fucking marked me, and he left.“My lady, I'm coming. A feminine voice called out the door pushed open on cue as a maid made her way in, looking quite happy she wouldn't stop stealing curious gazes at me as she placed the tray by my bed.“Your breakfast, milady, she offered. A wide smile stretched on her lips.“Giovanni? Where is he?” I enquired, my heart sinking in my chest.“He's at the garage; he's about to leave.”I stood to my feet, storming towards the door. Why was he leaving? Did he regret sleeping with me? He marked me; it must mean something, right?. Why on earth would he leave without saying a word to me?.“You can't leave
MARCELS POV.Pacing back and forth in the office, sweat trickled down my temples. I wanted to know why he was coming around, but I didn't want him here.“Alpha Marcel, he is here,” my beta Edmond asserted in haste, pushing open the doors.“You can leave now,” I ordered, curtly clearing my throat before relaxing back into the chair. Just as I expected, the door flung open, and Giovanni made his way in with a scowl on his face.“Why are you here on curt notice, aren't you busy being Lycan king?” I asked, not bothering to hide the bitterness of sarcasm in my words.“Isn't it right that I pay my in-laws a visit?“ He responded, a scoff quick to ease across my lips on hearing his response. Who was he fooling with such an irritating response?“The alpha king is away on business; I'm sorry to disappoint you, but its best you return before the day gets dark.” I asserted blindly once again, heading towards the door.“I'm be spending the night here; my men had been worn out from the drive." he
SIMONES POV.“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit you that hard.” A warm voice called out to me, and slowly I pushed open my orbs, feeling slight pain in my temples. As the previous occurrence sank into my mind. With a loud scream, I flinched backward, staring at the oddly perfect pretty man standing before me.“I wouldn't hurt you Hectane; don't be scared,” he whispered, assuring me by taking slow steps back from me.“I'm not Hectane , you psycho! What do you want? Why did you take me?” I chorused in confusion; my heart wouldn't stop racing yet, like I had been spellbound not to flinch. I remained in the spot.My gaze settled on his; he had a pair of brown eyes, cat-slit in shape; however, his alluring white hair let down over his shoulders, coupled with his pale face, red lips, and pointy nose, made this man stand out severally. He was tall, slender, had the fragile body build of a woman, fingers long, dainty, looking like they'd never been put to work before. Was he really a man? He lo
GIOVANNI'S POV.“Her lady is asleep, Lord Giovanni." Her chamber maid greeted me as soon as I made my way towards her door. I nodded, waving the maid goodbye before making my way into her room. A smile settled on my lips. I could feel sudden possessiveness and absolute happiness from the pit of my belly seeing my mate in bed asleep; perhaps she had no idea that she was my second chance mate and my first love.Slowly I tiptoed towards the bed, not wanting to take the risk of having her awake, settling down by her side. I brushed across her hair slowly. She mumbled some words before clutching toward me. A soft giggle escaped my lips. She really seemed to be at peace. I could only wonder how she had survived with a fool like Marcel; the mere thought that she would have ended up with someone else irritated me to the core.“I'm sorry,” I whispered, knowing I ought to have approached her a long time, but my patience was my best resolve. We had met years ago; I was older than she was, b
SIMONES POV.“Fuck, you scared me!” I screamed, my heart skipping several beats as soon as I had woken. His face was so close to mine, but seeing it was him and it wasn't some other freaky dream or concussion of mine made me feel relieved.“Won't seeing my pretty face be enough?” He asked in a sly tone, leaning closer to me.“So early, why are you here?” I asked, and once again, pulled off the bed. ”Besides, aren't you meant to be away on some trip or something?” I grumbled beneath my breath,He held my arm in place, pulling me back toward the bed. I had lost my stance, falling right next to him; he was quick to have his arms wrapped around me, snuggling me even closer.“My wife doesn't miss me; she doesn't want to be with me. Do you have any idea how many women would kill to be with me?" He asked, teasing me and being petty just as I expected him to do. I snorted, rolling my eyes at his petty comparison. But then he was right; maybe strangers wouldn't want him, but merely getting his
GIOVANNI'S POV.No, this was wrong; it wasn't meant to go down in this manner.“Unbind me, now,” I ordered Sheila, who bowed in response to my orders. She stormed towards me, grabbing the knife before making her way slowly around the silver rope tied around my wrist. I clenched my teeth, groaning from pain as she undid them.“Leave!” I ordered once more, and she nodded, saying nothing before whisking her way out through the door. A frustrated groan eased across my lips as I settled back in bed, my eyes fixed on the ceiling. With lots of thoughts roaming across my mind. The door opened once again, and Garson made his way into the room with a smug grin settled on his face.“I warned you; I told you this method of yours needed a break... How on earth did she find you?” He asked with a tease, settling into the chair by my side.“Don't tell me you are done gloating and rubbing it into my face; I'm certain you have more to say.” I mumbled beneath my breath, pulling myself off from the bed.
GIOVANNI'S POVI was somewhere else entirely. My mind was replaying the moment Lazaro looked me in the eye and told me she was dead."She didn’t survive," he had said, voice even, void of anything human.Liar.The bastard was good, I’d give him that. He held my gaze, let me take in every inch of his soulless expression, and made sure there wasn’t a single crack to slip through. But I had been watching him for years, long before this war started, long before he became anything more than a nuisance. And something had been off.I’d known for weeks now, but tonight... tonight I was certain.“She’s alive, isn’t she?”Garson stood across from me, arms folded, his expression unreadable, but I could see the tension in his jaw, the way his fingers flexed like he was holding back the urge to slam them into the nearest surface. He didn’t look surprised. Of course, he didn’t. The man saw everything, knew everything before I even opened my mouth. He was waiting for me to say it.“She is,” I confir
SIMONE'S POVA loud groan eased off my lips as I turned in bed, pushing my eyes open. A frustrated grunt escaped my lips as I tried taking in my current surroundings.I was in a sanctuary, drips strapped into my arms. I swallowed hard, parting my eyes even wider. My body ached terribly as I pushed myself up, then it all came dawning on me—the loss of my baby, the journal, the cave, and finally Lazaro.I felt a sharp stab of pain in my heart, my heart drummed hard in my chest. This wasn’t... This was...“Simone?” Lazaro’s voice called out as I raised my gaze in sync with him.“You are awake,” he asked. He looked a mess, his hair was disheveled, he looked weak, in pain, and I... I was certain he'd looked better when we had seen each other last.“You killed my baby!” I screamed with anger surging into me. I yanked the drip off my fingers before storming towards him. All I felt was anger, I struck him in the face and rammed my fists continuously into his chest, but he didn't speak.“You t
.LAZARO'S POVI couldn't wait anymore, it wasn't getting any better.A low grumble escaped my lips as I pushed myself off the bed, my sight was blurry, my body limp, every bit of me shattering.I couldn't hold on anymore, I needed to do this. Slowly, I scampered to my feet, wiping off the tiny coat of sweat on my temples.Propping myself to my feet, I tried as best as I could to keep my pain masked and my expression cold as I dragged my feet towards Simone's room. The guards all tensed up seeing me and were quick to bow as a courtesy.“Simone. I'd like to speak to her, alone,” I ordered the guard by the door. He exchanged confused glances with his peers before moving his confused gaze back in line with mine.“She left, just now, for the East Wing. There was a letter, she said you had given her, claiming you both needed your privacy,” the guard responded, stuttering as he spoke, visibly shaking.“What letter?!” I asked, creasing my eyebrows into a frown.“A note... some words were scr
. SIMONE'S POV I woke up to an empty bed again. I dare to say I had gotten quite used to it. As a matter of fact, I had begun adapting to a hell of a lot more things than I previously did. My drowsy gaze lifted towards the window. It was bright out. Slowly, I dragged my feet towards the door. My morning strolls were the only thing that kept me sane. I turned the knob, but the door wouldn’t budge. Rubbing my palms lazily over my face, I did it again. And then again. Nothing. It was locked. My breath hitched as the reality dawned on me. I couldn’t keep up with locked doors. It was bad enough that he had guards after me the entire time— pinning, watching, waiting for me in all corners of the house. And now, he'd just lock me in? Not that I had anywhere to go, but I enjoyed knowing I still had a sense of freedom— which, apparently, had been cut off suddenly. Shoving my palms against the door once again, the lock was flipped from the other end, and Marcus's fac

SIMONE'S POVLazaro hadn’t fed from me in days. Not because he didn’t need to. Because he was holding back. Watching. Waiting.I saw it in the way his eyes darkened whenever I moved too close, in the way his breath hitched when my pulse quickened. He was unraveling and I could feel myself unraveling with him. When he finally summoned me, I wasn’t surprised. His chamber was dimly lit, the scent of burning cedar heavy in the air. He stood by the window, his posture rigid, his fingers curled around the stem of a wine glass filled with nothing but emptiness."Come here."It wasn’t a request. He ordered in a cold and curt tone.My breath hitched, but I obeyed, drawn forward like prey caught in the gaze of a starving beast. When I reached him, his fingers wrapped around my wrist, turning it over with slow, deliberate intent. He traced the faint scars left behind from the last time he had fed, and I shivered."Do you know why I waited?" he murmured, his voice dark silk against my skin.I swall
SIMONE'S POVThe silence in the estate was suffocating. I had spent weeks pacing the floors, feeling every inch of this place wrap around me like a golden cage. The walls whispered Lazaro’s name, and his presence was inescapable—his scent lingering on the silk sheets, his voice reverberating in the halls long after he left them.I stepped into the garden, inhaling the night air, desperate for a moment of solitude. The roses stood tall, their deep red petals illuminated by the moonlight, and for the first time in weeks, I felt like I could breathe. But it didn’t last."Running from me, little wife?"The deep, velvety tone sent a shiver down my spine. I turned slowly, my heart already racing as I found Lazaro standing at the edge of the stone path. His stance was relaxed, but the intensity in his eyes was anything but. A glass of wine dangled loosely from his fingers, but it was the way his gaze bore into me that made my knees weak.I took a step back.He took two forwards."Don’t play
.GIOVANNI'S POV.I arched an eyebrow, cursing beneath my breath. Of course, I hadn’t expected him to choose a peaceful conversation. I had hoped he’d go for war, opt for trouble, refuse me outright—but no. Instead, I received a message from him, asking to meet alone in the woods at some private manor of his. Last I checked, I was the sane one, and he was the bloodthirsty one. But something about him awakened the darkest parts of me. I wanted his face bloodied. I wanted him dead. Gone. But was that even possible? Maybe it was good he was around. My life had been nothing short of misery upon misery. I needed him around, in check, to keep me on my toes. Lazaro raised me. No one would expect that. It had taken everyone by surprise. But that was a secret I often kept to myself. He knew everything about me. And yet, how had I been so foolish? How had I not seen how he truly felt about me? I shoved the thought away. He had said we were cool , that all was fine. So I’d tak
