Valerie “Hey Patricia!” Coral came in, her face bright with happiness as she saw Patricia. “Coral!” Patricia squeled as they embraced each other, and their high pitched voices overlapped each other as they spoke over each other and I rolled my eyes in annoyance as Elara began crying, which she almost never did.I rocked her in my arms, whispering to her in an attempt to keep her quiet. “Shh, shh baby. Mummy is here. Mummy is here okay?”Her cries subsided as I rocked her and Coral softly laughed.“I’m so sorry about the noise, Elara baby.” She cooed to Elara, then shot me an apologetic look.“I know you’ve been stressed Valerie. And I’m sorry I didn’t properly invite her before letting her come over, but this is my friend Patricia. We have been friends for like- what, fifteen years?” Coral turned to Patricia with a big smile as Patricia nodded.“Yes it’s been fifteen years, we are practically family at this point. Little Coral learnt most of what she knows from me.” Patricia beamed
Valerie “So, what do we need to do?” It was already an hour after the wine and watching Corwl and Patricia chat my ear off, while I pretended to listen, one mind on the conversation but my heart away from the building, far away in the hands of three men who do not remember who I was. It’s been two weeks since I last saw them. I needed to see them again. From afar, or in a disguise. I just needed to know my men are okay.Patricia stopped laughing, and Coral cleared her theoat as she glanced at the finished bottle of wine. As I promised her, I wasn’t going to bring it up after we got rid of the wine and the cheese. I may have been waiting for the last drop of wine to be gone, but well, my family was the one who was torn apart. “I waited for the wine and cheese to be gone now didn’t I? I think it’s time to heat the solution Patricia the strong has for me, no?”The air was tense as Coral gave me an annoyed look, while Patricia let out a forced cheery laugh, her hand laying uncomfortab
Valerie Patricia have a wary glance, causing me to shake in fear. I knew it was too good to be true. It was a prophecy from the moon goddess to me, Oracle. One of the most powerful beings to exist. I should have known it wasn’t going to be easy to change. Especially not from one ritual with a witch I didn’t even know how strong she was, or even trusted. Patricia sighed. “The ritual is one that would work. It’s only been done by few beings. And it is the most draining ritual to ever exist. But it is possible to change your fate. You just need to sacrifice one thing that means a lot to you.”“Sacrifice what?” I asked, my voice trembling as I swallowed. I only had few things that mattered to me and that was my family. I couldn’t ever sacrifice them. Patricia closed her eyes and then hummed. “You have to make a choice. It has to be one thing. I would never tell you to sacrifice a life. So that leaves one thing that means the most to you at this moment in your life.”“What is it?” I co
The cold bit harshly at the skin of my face as I wrapped Elara closer to my chest while we approached the pack grounds. The feeling of being back in my kingdom made blood flow through my veins, and my wolf stirred within me, knowing we were closer to our mates. Elara let out a soft cry, and I knew it was due to the power flowing through her too. Being away from your kingdom as a royal werewolf diminishes your power and weakens you. It makes you more vulnerable to external attacks, leaving you as weak as a normal wolf. Pulling my coat tighter around us, I didn't do much with my disguise. They already didn’t recognize me, so I only hid my scent to avoid detection, knowing their memory could be triggered if they caught a strong whiff of it. The pack was just as I remembered. Home. The chatter of the pack members, the cars and technology we constantly received from humans, the guards at nearly every corner because of what the pack endured years ago—I missed it all. A small smile crosse
Valerie“Ansel, leave us.” Were the first words Syklar uttered as her gaze pierced through mine, and i gave her a shaky smile, clutching Elara closer to my chest as if she could protect me from Skylar’s wrath the minute Ansel left. He glanced between Skylar and i before shooting Skylar an irritated gaze.“No thank you for helping your friend in? I get that you hate us right now, but thats a bit harsh.”Skylar folded her hands across her chest as she glared at Ansel. “The only magic word you will get if you dont leave now would be sorry.”Ansel scoffed, and glanced at me one last time, before turning, walking down the hall and away from me, causing my ache and emptiness to return as he walked farther and farther away. But that was rerplaced by fear as Skylar yanked my hand and dragged me into her room in anger. She shut the door loudly, and glared at me so hard i feared i may ignite under the heat of her glare. “Start talking.” She commanded and i sighed.“I missed you so much Skylar.”
Valerie Skylar pulled away, her nose red from her sniffling, and I was sure that I looked the exact same way. A giggle escaped my lips, and she rolled her eyes as I called her a crybaby, teasing her despite being one myself. She slapped my arm playfully, and at that moment, I felt like everything was the way it used to be, but it wasn’t, so I was back to reality. Skylar noticed the change in my demeanor, and she sat upright, clearing her throat. “You mentioned a solution earlier at the door. I thought the Moon Goddess wasn’t replying to you any longer? How did you get a solution?” I ran my hand through my hair. “I found a seer. Well, Coral found one. She helped me with the vision.” Skylar raised a brow. “Coral? Really? The same Coral who I don’t trust and absolutely hate found you a seer, and you’re just going to go with it?” Skylar hated Coral the minute I built a temple for the Moon Goddess and she was assigned to me. I always felt it was a rivalry thing, and till now, I haven't
Ansel Grey rumbled on as Kaden chirped in reply but i couldnt concentrate as i stared at them. Only ne thing was in my mind. The cloaked stranger, Skylar’s weird friend. She was the most beautiful woman i had ever seen in reality, and ve seen, been and been inside millions of women. No one was as beautiful as she was. Maybe the baby in her hands. For some reason, i couldnt just get her out of mind, despite not being able to see her face well, but the little i saw seems to have a lasting effect. I just couldnt concentrate on anything except her soft lips, her violet eyes… I couldnt concentrate on the plan to ffind out the memory wiper when this woman plagued my mind. “Hey asshole.” Grey threw a squeezed sheet of paper at me, pulling me out of my trance. Kaden rose a brow at me, and i could see him calculate what i was thinking behind his cocky stupid brain. A smirk appeared on his face and i knew he figured it out. “The cloaked woman, wasnt truly a skank was she now? If she was, yo
Valerie My heart thundered against my ribcage as i hurriedly left the presence of Ansel, Kaden and Grey, who stared me down as i left Skylar’s room. I could swear i saw Kaden glaring at me, which made it harder for me to make my decision. There was a way i could get us all out of this, and it may even ruin everything. But i wasn't going to give up without trying my best to have my mates back, our life back. So i left the pack with Elara, and headed back to my cottage where Coral was livid as she kept calling my line. Patricia was busy with a spell and I peeled my eyes off her, clearing my throat so that they could know i was in front of them. “Hey guys.” Coral’s eyes widened as she took me in, and she let out a sigh, which instantly turned to anger as she stormed towards me. “What the hell were you thinking, Val? Why would you leave without letting me know? I was worried sick something happened to you and Elara and Patricia couldn't locate you with a locator spell..” She took a
For almost 300 chapters, I wrote the story of six imaginary characters, and somewhere along the line, I forgot that they were just a figment of my imagination. I fell in love with their pain and their stories, and for one year, they were the one constant in my otherwise unbalanced life. If you are reading this, then they grew on you, too. Thank you for staying with me as I poured my imagination onto paper. Our journey has to end here, but this journey would have been nothing without you, my precious readers. I hope you stay back and become more than just a reader but part of the family. If you hang on a bit longer, we could also grow along with the new characters in my new books.I love every one of you. And loyal readers, even the grammar correctors and inline comment editors, are the reason I wake up, and writing is what keeps me going every day. Thank you, and I hope to see you in my next project.
ValerieThe palace was filled with the sound of laughter and music. It had been years since we had conquered the people that almost ruined our lives, tried to kill us and also tear us apart. Today, we celebrated.Elara was eighteen. My baby- the little girl who had been taken, nearly lost, and fought for- was now a woman. And not just any woman. She was stronger, beautiful and much more powerful than she had been as a baby. And most importantly, she was loved. She was standing at the center of the hall, her beautiful golden eyes glowing under the light and her white gown cascading around her. I was standing at the balcony as I stared at her and made sure everything was going on right at the party. “You’re going to cry aren’t you?” A familiar voice asked. I turned around to see that it was Kaden and he wore a smug smirk on his face. “I’m not one to cry,” I replied him with a scoff“Now, you’re lying,” Grey said as he walked to stand beside me. “You cried when she turned ten.”“
ValerieThe battle was over. The war was won.And yet, the weight in my chest remained. We had survived. We had fought against powerful people that threatened to end life as we knew it, we had lost people but we still managed to come out victorious though injured and weak. I looked around at what remained from the intense fighting- the floor was stained with blood, broken and bloodied weapons were scattered all over the floor and then the bodies- they laid uncountable and badly battered as life had left them. So many bodies. Some were ours, but most belonged to the Revolutionaries who had dared to challenge us.And then there was Scott who had fought so hard to protect my daughter and kingdom. He had lost his father in the process. He was kneeling close to his father’s body, his body was tense and he was silent, an unreadable expression on his face as he stared at the lifeless body of the man who had protected him instead of leaving him to die. A true father. I wanted to comfort hi
ScottI couldn’t wrap my mind around anything that was going on. It was all a blur and I could see nothing but red. The shouts of battle as the triplets surged forward, the sound of sword against slow, claws tearing against flesh and the sound of bodies hitting the floor all faded into the background. All I could see was him. My father. His now lifeless body was laying on the floor, his once powerful and mighty body was nothing more than a dead body now. His blood stained the floor beneath him, it was dark- darker than a normal blood should be and it pooled all both of us and my body too as it polled beneath him also. His eyes that were once sharp, the same eyes that had intelligence, history and a lot of battles surging through them were now more than empty- lifeless. Gone. The father I had just begun to understand. The father who had saved me. The father I thought hated me- only to realize too late that he didn’t.He had never really hated me, he just didn’t know how to show
Valerie Elara cried in my arms, her little body trembling against my hold on her. Scott was still battling against them, stronger than Kaden, Ansel and Kaden while Skylar stood by the side, fear written all over her face, looking traumatized. Andrea and her second in command were no more fearful, instead they were angry as they looked at the floor that was soaked with the blood of their men.“Give the baby to me,” Andrea snarled, her voice as sharp as a razor. I held Elara tighter, stepping back instinctively. “Over my dead body.”He smirked. “That can be arranged.”Others were still fighting as she made her way to me. I barely had time to react when she reached for me, clawing at Elara. Her movement was fast- too fast. A low growl ripped past my lips before I could stop it as my wolf howled in anger. I wasn’t going to let her touch my baby. My body was burning as my wolf took over, my bones shifting and snapping out of place. My muscles stretched and my fur sprouted along my
Valerie Elara’s cry stopped me dead in my tracks as her cries pierced through the air, their grip on her tightening. The sliver blade of the dagger hovered dangerously close to her neck as it glinted under the bright moonlight. Everything inside me was burning and screaming at me. I had to save her.But I wasn’t fast enough. The moment I moved, the leader pressed the blade closer. “If you take one more step,” she said, her voice filled with warning as a cruel smile curled at her lips. “I’ll kill her and I’ll made sure it’s a slow and enjoyable death for me.”I froze in place, my heart racing and my nerves all over the place. Kaden and Ansel tensed up as they stood beside me with clenched hands and anger coursing through their bodies, barely able to control the frustration they were feeling. Grey on the other was shaking with a barely suppressed anger as he halted daggers at Andrea. The air was heavy and suffocating. Then, all of a sudden, something shifted. I heard a low and dee
Valerie Scott looked uncertain. His eyes glowered between us all, the expression on his face was unreadable as if he was having an internal battle with himself on what he had to do next. I could feel the tension that was radiating off Ansel, Kaden and Grey’s bodies. We were all ready to fight even if it was the last thing that we did but we were weak and we needed Scott to make a choice, we needed him to do something. The men and women of the revolution stood on the other side path there weapons and out and ready, waiting for either us or Scott to do something against what they wanted. Skylar was kneeling by Andrea’s legs, her jaw was clenching and tears were running down her face. I knew she was feeling stupid because Kaden had said they weren’t to be trusted and she hadn’t listened. She had been so stubborn and all of this was partially her fault. She was so desperate to have her family back that she forgot that no one was to be trusted. Scott let out a small sigh as he ran hi
Valerie“So how do we get there?” Grey asked, his voice filled with urgency.“That’s simple, this…” i trialed off before it turned to look at the woman. “I didn’t get your name, what name do you go by?”“My name is Andrea,” she replied with a tight smile and I nodded. “So as I was saying, since she knows the way to the vampire kingdom, we just have to follow behind her and pray we get there as fast as we can,” I explained and the guys nodded in approval while Skyler just looked at us indifferently. “So we go now? Without any plans of anything happens?” Ansel asked, the anger he was feeling evident in his voice. “Nothing is going to happen, Ansel,” Skylar said thejugj gritted teeth. “I already told you that there’s nothing to worry about. Just because you’re now finding out that Scott is a vampire doesn’t make him any different from the man that you’ve known since.”“Oh please, what if he’s about to show that he really ha-“ Ansel started but a look from me was wvkugh to shut him up.
Scott I walked out of my father’s presence and walked back to the maids to get the baby. I had thought that I was only going to be there for a few minutes before I headed back out and look for somewhere safe but there really wasn’t anywhere better than the heavily guarded estate of my father’s kingdom. But when my hand reached for the door knob, I stopped, realizing that I needed to take a shower and get my powers back if I really wanted to win this battle. The babies were with Raye- the maid that had brought me and my brother up and I was that they were in safe hands. I turned on my heels and headed towards the healers part the house. When I got there, her mouth fell open as she bombarded me with questions. “After years of you staying away from here, you come back with so many injuries and a weak body?” She asked as she ushered me to a sit by the corner of the room. “It’s not like I intentionally did this to myself,” I replied coldly but soon regretted it when I saw the look on
