The look on Anita's face made me feel like I had committed a huge crime. She stood in front of me with her arms folded across her chest. I knew I had a lot of explaining to do.

“So what’s with the public parades you are doing with the alpha princes?” she asked, unable to hide her disgust.

“Public parades? Come on, Anita, that's not what it is.”

She quirked her brow, “so what explanation do you have for this? Is it now official? You did not think it was necessary to tell me about it?”

“No!” I placed my hand on my forehead, “it's nothing like that, Anita. It's just that I'm trying to relax with them. They just want to make things work, honestly.”

Her mouth fell open in shock. She gave a sarcastic laugh and mockingly clapped her hands.
