The last few days were a roller coaster. I had passed through different emotions too fast for anyone to handle. Although I did not care about Ashley's mum, I felt the weight of Ashley's loss.

I had to hold her close throughout, as we performed the burial rituals because she wouldn't stop shedding tears and sniffing. I spoke a lot of reassuring words, just to make her see that she had us, but none of that made her stop crying.

I could imagine what she was going through. Losing one's mother in such a painful way was not good for anyone. But it had happened and we all just had to move on.

I didn't give a fuck about the death of my father. Instead, it was a relief, because he would have killed us if he had survived another day. When I thought of him, all I could see was a cold-hearted killer.
