A NEW BEGINNING PART TWO

SYDNEY'S POV............

It's been month,a whole month without Axel,he didn't even bother to check on me,the only people who remembered me in that house and bothered to check one were Julia,Alia and Queen Selena. No one else cared about me.

"Sydney are you listening" my father suddenly asked. We were sitted in his study room and he was saying something I wasn't paying attention to.

I snapped out of my thoughts and faced him "yes dad,you were saying....".

"I said you know I won't live forever".

I frowned " Don't say such nonsense father,you are still very agile".

"Just listen to me......,when am gone,you will be the one in charge of the affairs in this community, you will be the one to rule the vampire kingdom because I don't have any other children but you can't rule this kingdom alone".

"And what exactly do you mean by that?".

"Our kingdom is not happy with the fact that after my death,a lady will be one to take over. They might even try to overthrow you".

I leaned over to him "So what do you want me to do?.

"You need a man to rule by your side" he shook his head "why am I even beating around the bush,I want you to get married to Beck".

I stood up abruptly and took a step backward,completely shocked "What! what are you saying father?".

"You heard me right,you and Beck were dating before that unfortunate incident so why do you have a problem with getting married to him and I think you two would make a good match".

I shook my head "But dad,am not ready to get married".

"Okay then,give me one good reason why you don't wanna get married and I promise you won't get married because am aware of the fact that you are of the age to get married".

'Because I am already the mate to someone else' I badly wanted to tell him but if I did,he was gonna tell me to introduce my mate and Axel did not want me. Besides if dad found out Axel was my mate,he was never going to agree to it so I choosed to keep quiet.

He sighed "I thought as much........ I will discuss with the priest about a good day for the wedding and then I will get back to you".

"Okay father". I bowed and left. Maybe I could talk to Beck,tell him to talk to father and refuse to get married to me so father would call of the wedding. Luckily for me,I sighted him talking to one of the palace guards so I walked up to him.

"Beck I want to talk to you about something important".

He faced me and kissed me on my cheeks "how are you doing Sydney?".

I nodded "Am good but I want to talk to you urgently".

He shook his head "Maybe later,I've been sent for by your father".

I grabbed his arm as he turned to leave "Promise me you will refuse whatever my dad ask of you?".

He raised his brows confused "I can't promise you anything Sydney,if it's something worth refusing then I would gladly decline but if not........" And he left.

Something told me that he was going to agree to the marriage proposal,I mean who wouldn't. I left to my room only to see a letter on my bed

I hurried to the bushes behind my home so I could see my visitors.

"You are terrible at hiding Alia,look your leg is coming out of the bushes". I heard Julia say. They were hiding In the bushes and I chuckled lightly when I saw Alia's left foot out in the open.

"Sorry" she mumbled and pulled her leg back in bit then Julia yelped "I said hide your leg not step on me".

"Am so sorry". I sighted her shifting closer to another feminine figure "My Queen please bear with us,the situation is not conducive enough for you".

Selena chuckled "Are you kidding me,am the one who brought you guys here and besides I love doing things like this".

"You're all nuts". I heard Sue suddenly say, was Sue really here. "I should never have come with you guys,Sia will be so mad at me".

Julia made a snorting sound "We never asked you to tag along,you saw us leaving,asked where we were going to and when we told you,you decided to come with us".

"Am only here because I want to see Sydney" She snapped back and they started bickering.

I took a step forward but then Selena whispered "Someone is coming,quiet the both of you".

I chuckled and shook my head "It's me guys and just to know you are all terrible at hiding".

Sue was the first to step out and the others followed,she ran to hug me "Am so happy to see you".

"Me too darling,I missed you so much".

She held my shoulders with her hands and studied me "So you are not annoyed that I did not stop Axel from throwing you out of the house?".

I shook my head "Am not annoyed,and besides it was not your fault,Sia needed you at that time". My face saddened,Sia was still annoyed with me,she did not even come to see me. As if reading my mind,Sue smiled "She still needs some time but she will come around,and I assure you that one day,she will be the one sending you a letter".

I smiled, trying to reassure myself "I really hope so".

She nodded and gave way for Alia to hug me,I frowned at Alia "You are not supposed to be embarking on such journey in this condition and you know that Alia".

She chuckled "Am perfectly fine Sydney and besides,the baby is been a good baby and not disturbing me in anyway".

I hugged Julia next and bowed to Queen Selena.

"You've got to be kidding me" she shook her head at me and pulled me for a bear hug "Don't ever do that again,you know I don't like such greeting from a friend".

"Okay Selena".

"So is there any news you would love to share with us?".

"Actually there is...........

"Are you coming back home?" Julia quickly asked.

I shook my head "No,Axel doesn't even want me back".

"You are not planning on giving up are you?" Alia asked.

I turned my back at them but Selena walked up to me and put her hands on my shoulders and turned me so I could face her "What's wrong Sydney,you know you can tell us anything".

I bowed my head and bit my lips "Am getting married".

There was long silence between us,you could even hear the chirping of the birds.

"Married?" Sue choked like she was trying to understand the meaning of the word.

"Yes....my dad is already deciding on the date".

"Why didn't you refuse?" Julia requested.

"Don't you think I did,but he asked me to give him one good reason why I was not going to get married to my long time boyfriend".

"Then why didn't you tell him?" Alia asked me.

"Tell him what?,that I already have a mate that refused to accept me. Okay let's see,if I told my dad,then he would have asked me for the person name and who should I tell him?Axel?.....and you think he would accept him?".

No one answered my question and I sighed "I thought as much,let's just forget about that issue and talk about something else".

Selena nodded unwillingly "Sure".
