Without taking much time Luna Fae stood up besides her husband, and started walking out of the sitting room. She headed straight to Valarie room, as she smiled inwardly.
She had actually hated Valarie before from the very beginning, but she just decided to put up with her since she was going to save her family later on in the future, and now was actually the main time.
She was really so happy right now, because she knows that very soon the girl that she hates so much will definitely leave her home for good. She kept smiling until she finally arrived at Valarie's room door. She tried to hide her smile as she stood there and knocked on the room door.
Valerie was actually just coming from the bathroom, and she just had a towel tied around her chest when she heard the knock on her room door.
"Who's there please?" Valerie asked immediately, with a very polite voice.
"It's me Valarie, can I come in?" Luna Fae asked, while she remained standing in the door.
"Oh mum, please come in." Valerie responded to her, and Luna Fae quickly flipped the door open as she walked fully into her room.
Valerie was actually about picking out her clothes when Luna Fae walked into the room. She quickly stopped as she turned fully to Luna Fae to give her attention.
She actually knows that Luna Fae was not the type that likes it when she is talking to someone, and the person was actually doing something else, so is doing what to do right now, if she doesn't really want to offend her.
She actually knows how Luna Fae can be sometimes, and she doesn't want any violence from her right now. She was still very surprised why she was in her room right now, and she just couldn't wait for her to speak up.
She knows she hasn't done anything wrong, because she had actually done all that Luna Fae had asked her to do and that was why she was now in her room freely so she wasn't really expecting to be in any form of trouble with her.
But also she knows Luna Fae so well, that even if she doesn't really deserve anything that would hurt her, Luna Fae would still definitely want to hurt her, by beating her up, without any good reason, and still starving her.
"Luna, is there something you want me to do for you? please tell me so I will go and do it immediately." Valerie said, as polite as possible.
"Well there is actually nothing I want you to do for me, but your attention is actually needed in the sitting room." Luna Fae told her.
"Oh ok, but by who and why?" Valerie couldn't help it, but asked, as she was so curious right now.
"Well you have a very important visit, and you have to come down there immediately, so just get dressed and don't keep them waiting." Luna Fae said, and quickly turned around, and started walking out of the room.
Valerie sighed softly,as she wondered who those guests could be. As she knows Luna Fae called them important guests, and told her not to keep them waiting, so that means she really has to get dressed and ready to leave immediately.
She really needed to see who those people were and she needed to see that fast too. She thought, and quickly started walking out to her clothes.
She stood still and started dressing up in a hurry, as she just wanted to go over to see the guest immediately.
Though she hopes in her mind that it would be someone good enough and worthy of her time and attention, and not the other way round. She thought as she continued dressing up.
She was finally dressed within a few minutes, she was actually supposed to return the towel back to the bathroom, but she decided not to until she returned from seeing her guest.
She started walking out of her room immediately. She headed straight to the sitting room, and as she was about to enter the sitting room, she met Eric there.
"Sister, I need you help with something, please can you help me out?" Eric asked her,as he stood on her way.
"Please Eric I'm actually in a hurry right now, I have a guest waiting for me in the sitting room." Valerie told him.
"But sister, this is actually important too, you know." Eric said,
"Ok, I promise to come over to your room immediately, I finished up with the guest." Valerie told him.
"Ok then if you say so, I will be in my room waiting." Eric said, with a smile plastered on his face, as he turned to leave her way.
Valerie also faked a smile even though she wasn't really in the mood to smile right now. Eric walked away, and Valerie took a deep breath,as she started walking into the sitting room immediately.
She gasped immediately as she walked into the sitting room and saw Alpha Drake with another guy sitting beside him on the couch he was currently sitting on.
"Oh Valarie, you are here already, please come closer." Alpha Callan said, as he stretched his hand towards her, and she slowly walked closer to him.
"Dad please, what is happening here? and what are those people doing here?" Valerie asked Alpha Callan, who took a deep breath and cleared his throat, as he finally spoke up.
"That is Alpha Drake, your mate, and he is here to take you back with him to his pack now." Alpha Callan said,
"Dad please don't let this monster take me back with him please dad." Valerie said, as hot tears cloud her eyes immediately.
"Look Valerie, it's actually not my fault ok, he is your mate and I can't really stop him from taking you with him back to his pack." Alpha Callan replied to her.
"Dad, no please." Valerie finally let out her tears as they flowed freely down her cheeks, while Alpha Drake just glanced at her.
"I can't really stop him from taking you with him, I'm really sorry about that." Alpha Callan said, and Valerie continued crying like a baby.
Alpha Callan decided to speak up. "Alpha Drake, I know it is actually right for you to take her with you, but I'm not really stopping you, but I want to plead with you that it should be today."
"And why won't it be today?" Alpha Drake asked rudely.
"So you can see for yourself how she is acting right now, and I would like to talk to her about it, before tomorrow morning please try to understand." Alpha Callan said,
"I can't really understand that, I'm here now for her, and I don't think I'm going to leave here without her, because I don't intend to come back here to this pack." Alpha Drake yelled in annoyance, and Beta Alex touch him immediately
He whispered something into his ears, and that made him stand up immediately, while Beta Alex also did the same. "Alpha Callan excuse us for a minute." Beta Alex said, and Alpha Callan nodded, as the two men walked out of the house immediately.
Immediately they were both out of sight, but Alex turned to him immediately. "Alpha, can't you see the way the girl in question is crying like a baby?" Beta Alex asked.
"Yes, but that's really not my business, I just want to take her with me and that all even though it involves me forcing her to come with me." Alpha Drake said,
"Come on Alpha, this is you at all." Beta Alex said,
"That old me, is actually no longer existing, so this is the new me, and I love it." Alpha Drake replied.
"Hmmm," he exhaled. "Ok but please, I want you to just try and allow the girl to stay here for today with her parents, so that they can talk some sense into her, while we come back to get her tomorrow morning." Beta Alex said,
"Look, I'm not ready to come down to this pack again tomorrow, so I want to go with her right now." Alpha Drake replied to him.
"But Alpha the girl isn't that strong type, and you and I saw her crying her eyes out earlier right?" Beta Alex asked.
"Yes, but I don't really care about that, all I care about is that I'm going to leave this pack with her whether she likes it or not." Alpha Drake insisted,
Beta Alex has never seen that part of Alpha Drake before, the Alpha Drake he used to know was actually a very understanding Alpha, but right now, he was a cold hearted person, and he doesn't even know what to do right now.
Honestly he doesn't want the girl to go with them, since she wasn't really in a good position to do so. He actually needed to look for a way to convince Alpha Drake.
Beta Alex kept dwelling in his thoughts, as he thought of a good way to make Alpha Drake understand, and agree to leave Valerie with her father and come back again for her."Alex, let's just go inside if you don't have anything else to say to me right now, because I'm tired of standing here." Alpha Drake said,"Oh about that I'm really sorry for being quiet all this while, but please let's just go back home and come back for this girl tomorrow." Beta Alex told him."No, I'm going with her today, and right now." Alpha Drake insisted, and Beta Alex sighed."Why are you being unreasonable here?" Beta Alex asked, as he turned over to Alpha Drake fully."I'm not being unreasonable, but rather I'm doing the right thing." Alpha Drake said,"It not that you really like this girl, but you just want to take her off now, but I want you to ask yourself this question," beta Alex said, and pulsed for a while before he finally continued. "What would she be doing for you if you take her home today?"
Luna Fae slowly walked over to Valarie's room door, and stood there. She could remember how she had been treating Valerie so badly, and thought of how she was going to convince her to go ahead with the plan. She doesn't really know if she would be unhappy that she was in her room right now trying to convince her to go over to her mate pack and do what they were asking of her.Somehow she wasn't really comfortable with the fact that she was going to be talking to Valarie about the plans, but her husband has already insisted, but maybe he didn't really give it a thought before sending her there. She really needs to go back to her room, and talk to her husband again about it, before she thinks of coming back to Valerie's room. She thought, as she quickly turned around, and started walking back to their room.Immediately she walked into the room, her husband who was sitting on the couch turned over to her direction. "Are you done talking to her already?" Alpha Callan asked."No I'm not."
VALARIE'S POVI was still dwelling in my thoughts, when a knock brought me to reality. "Who's there?" I asked, but just then my room door cracked open, and Eric walked in."It's me," I heard Eric's small voice, and I smiled immediately, as he quickly rushed over to me.I made him sit beside me almost immediately, and quickly turned over to him. "I heard the maids saying you have an evil mate, is that true?" He asked, and I gasped immediately."No, that's not true, okay, they are just saying nonsense, and I'm going to report them to my father." I told him, hoping it would convince him."Are you sure about that, because I don't want you to be married to evil mate, please don't marry him if he isn't a good person." He tried to persuade me not to be married to my mate.Well I really don't want to be married to that mate of mine, but I actually have a plan which my parents had prepared already, so that's the reason I was going to go ahead and go with my so-called mate."You don't have to
I sighed softly as I grabbed the doorknob and opened the door, as I walked in. I made my way to my bed, as I had my seat, and glanced around the bedroom, like I just arrived here now. There is nothing to do here, so I'm really so bored right now, and I wish I could find something to do. I stood up immediately, as I started paving around my bedroom, looking for something to do.I'm really not used to staying an idol without doing anything. Back at my house, Luna Fae made sure I had so much work to do. Honestly I thought she was really punishing me, but I guess that was really training she was giving to me.I think I should probably go out of this bedroom, to look for something to do, instead of remaining here. I thought as I finally made my way out of my room.Stepping out of the room now, I stood still at the entrance of my room realising I really didn't know my way here.I just got here a few hours ago, and there is no way I would know my way to the kitchen. "The dining room should
I woke up early, determined to start my day by making breakfast. I made my way to the kitchen, where I found Matina, the head cook, already at work. Matina was a tall, sturdy woman with warm eyes but a stern demeanor, known for her meticulous attention to detail.“Good morning, Matina,” I greeted with a small smile.“Good morning,” she replied, looking up from the dough she was kneading.“I was thinking,” I began, “I would like to make breakfast this morning.”Matina’s eyes widened in surprise. “Alpha Drake doesn’t like any mistakes in his meals. He’s very particular.”“I understand,” I said, stepping closer. “But I have always cooked back at my parents’ place. I promise I can do this.”Matina hesitated, her brow furrowing. “it is not about your skills, . it is just… if anything goes wrong…”“Nothing will go wrong,” I assured her. “Trust me. I know how important it is to get it right.”Matina sighed, clearly torn between her duty and my request. “Alright,” she said finally, “but I’ll
A month passed with me hunting for information within the palace and occasionally helping in the kitchen. Matini and I Became good friends, and I would spend hours in the kitchen learning to cook new meals or teaching her delicacies from my home pack.I have also started to see a different side of Alpha Drake. At first, he seemed cold and unapproachable, but as I spent more time in the palace, helping in the kitchen and observing him from a distance, I began to understand why he was the way he was.“What were you expecting? You think he would just let you fall and die on the stairs?” Matini was speaking. It had been a month since I came to Drake’s pack. Matina had made it her mission to tell me all about Alpha Drake’s good side. Today was no different. After I recounted how Alpha Drake saved me from almost killing myself the day I first came to the kitchen, she wouldn’t stop teasing me.“I mean, I do not think he really likes you, but I do not think he wants you dead,” Matina said w
I realized with horror that he was profoundly drunk. “Alpha Drake?” I called out carefully. “You are in the wrong room.”“That’s what makes me a terrible person. I mean, what kind of man mates with the daughter of the man who killed his parents? I had only one job,” Drake held up one finger and stared at it. “Only one single job, but I failed.”“Drake, you’re in the wrong room,” I tried again.Drake’s eyes snapped to mine. “You’re the girl, the daughter of my enemies.”I cursed under my breath and made my way to him. “Come on, I’ll take you to your room.” I tried to guide him back out the door to his room, but he didn’t move. He didn’t even budge. “Drake, please, let me take you to your room.”“This is my house, and I’ll stay wherever I want,” he slurred and pulled his arms free from mine. He staggered forward again and almost lost his footing.“I’m fine,” he mumbled to no one in particular.“Well then, since this is your house, I’ll let you sleep here tonight.” I turned to walk out t
I spent the day in my room crying, binge-watching Gilmore Girls, and eating ice cream. I couldn't believe Drake scolded me and then told me to stay away from him after giving me the best orgasm ever. Rosie came to check on me, and I asked her to leave after requesting more ice cream. It took me a week to stop mourning. Drake did well to avoid me, always out working or locked in his study. He even went as far as telling Rosie to bring his food upstairs to his room just to avoid me. I filled my days with reading, binge-watching TV shows, and helping Rosie in the kitchen.“Oh dear child, I thought you said you’re fine?” Rosie asked, looking at me with worry.“I am,” I said. I hadn't told her what happene
I decide to dress in a loose dress that covers my showing baby bump and a scarf Rosie made for me. I throw the scarf around my neck and face to hide my growing chubby cheeks.I have borrowed one of Drake's cars—it’s not stealing since Drake is my mate—and drive myself to my parents' pack. I decide to park outside the house and walk into the gate on foot. The gate man isn’t at his post, which only adds to my advantage. I don’t want my parents notified of my coming; I want it to be a pleasant surprise before it turns to the inevitable disappointment. I walk the rest of the way to my parents' house. The house hasn’t changed. It looks just the same, everything in the exact same way I left it. I stop at the sound of voices coming from my father’s second office, detached from the house and standing on its own between the boys' quarters and the main house. I identify the voice speaking as my father’s. My father doesn’t use this office except when he wants to discuss something of great import
My heart skipped a beat when Drake knocked and entered my room later that night.I tried to pretend I was asleep. I tried to act like I didn’t know when he came back home. I tried to act like I didn’t stare from my window when he entered through the gate.I waited patiently while he bathed, ate, and changed.“Are you awake?” he asked, lingering at the door.I didn’t respond. I kept my eyes closed and willed my body not to give any indication that I wasn’t deeply at rest.“Okay,” I heard him mumble before closing the door. My stomach sank. I shouldn’t have pretended to be asleep. Now he was gone—oh.I felt a hand on my stomach and the rustling of the sheets as he sat by the edge. Relief, sweet strong relief washed over me. Maybe my plan would work.“Mummy’s asleep, isn’t she?”Is he... is he talking to my stomach? Okay.“I bet she’s tired. Don’t be too hard on her, okay? I know she’s stubborn and all, but let’s take it easy on her, okay?”I tried. Heaven knows I tried to suppress the l
Only the moon goddess knew how Drake got a turkey under an hour.“Microwave,” he said.He mentioned that he and Rosie had been working on putting a variety of food in the kitchen that I might crave, to avoid what happened that night when I made him bake cookies at 1 AM. He didn’t want to wake Rosie, so he did it himself, grumbling all the way through while I peppered him with questions.“What’s your favourite colour?”“When was your first kiss?”“What’s your favourite food?”I didn’t think he would answer, but he grumbled all the answers to me while making me the best cookies I’d ever had. Only after one piece, I didn’t want them anymore. It took a ton of self-control for Drake not to strangle me to death that night.Today, after getting me the turkey, he made sure I was full to the brim. I could literally feel the food lingering in my throat, having no space to move down. I was sure that should be unhealthy or something, but it didn’t last long. I was hungry again before I knew it.D
I thought something was wrong with Drake. After we both learned I was pregnant, he changed. I wasn’t sure if I should like it or be scared. I thought he might be suffering from mood swings.First, he stayed away from me, giving the impression that he hated me. Then, he saved me from falling and dying, even when I thought he wanted me dead. He came into my room and made me scream his name, then told me to stay the hell away from him. And now, he was calling me darling and bringing me breakfast in bed, taking my every whim seriously. I wasn’t sure how to react to that.“I wasn’t sure what your pregnant tummy would want to eat today, so I had Rosie make you a variety of things,” he said.I tried not to look too surprised when Drake brought me breakfast for the 24th time in a row. I had barely woken up. The morning sickness and lack of appetite had reduced a lot. Now all I ever wanted to do was eat, though I sometimes didn’t know what to eat and craved different things at different hours.
Valerie POVThroughout the day, I was far from being myself. Aside from the reality of now being hated by my mate for the deeds of my father, I still didn't feel all good in my body. I've tried to ignore it. Well, I guess his rejection was just what I needed to go and rest. As I approached the steps leading to the garden's exit, my vision got blurry, my steps haggard, I knew there was not much time left before I passed. “I don't feel too good, Drake…” my voice was barely above a whisper. “Just a few more steps…” I told myself… I was wrong. The last thing I remembered before total darkness was seeing Alpha Drake's eyes, as he held me from hitting my head. Opening my eyes, my blurred vision cleared to my immediate environment, I knew I wasn't in the garden and, I'm pretty sure I didn't walk to this place. The next my brain registered was the beep sound coming from the machine standing next to me… I was in the pack infirmary.I sat up, with the little energy I could muster. The pac
