“All right, I will get him,” she agreed. Then, she joyously and pretentiously called out as she walked up the staircase.

“Hubby.”

Now, she was determined to barge into his room, not minding how he would react.

“Hubby,” she called out again and knocked. Then, she waited for his response and when he did not, she called out again and pushed the door with a mild force and got in.

“Bruno,” she called out, and her eyes scanned the room for her husband. She grimaced when she noticed his unused bed.

“Bruno, where are you?” She called again and walked to the bathroom and looked out for him. She walked briskly to his study and pushed the open, and was disappointed.

“When did he leave the house?” She murmured. To avoid keeping Silas waiting, she shut the door after she got off the room and walked back to the parlor.
