39. The Funeral 7

At Mr. Evans Owens' House

He got back home after he left the EFCC Headquarters before lunch to meet his wife and daughter, who were anxiously waiting for him.

“Welcome back, hubby.”

His wife greeted as she gave him a hug. His daughter, Lilian, did the same thing.

“Welcome back, dad.”

Then, he cheerfully responded.

“Thank you, dear.”

Subsequently, they sat on the couch in the sitting room while his wife waited for his explanation. Then he began.

“It was a 'no case to answer submission', my dear. The Head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had realized that I was innocent. My accounts would be unfrozen soon.”

“Wow. Congratulations to us.”

“Congratulations, dad.”

“Thank you, my dear.”

Then, Sarah inquired further.

“What about your job?”

“Yes. I will watch and see how things would unfold.”

“You are right.”

Afterward, they retired to the bedroom, while Lilian returned to her room too. Then Sarah spoke.

“I got a call from George.”

“Oh! He must have been disturbed by the news?
