CHAPTER 79: OUR SECRETS ARE NOT SECRETS ANYMORE

The night went smoothly, it was the first one in months since I first laid my eyes on Alexander Pierce that I had had a goodnight sleep. No matter the crazy force in my head telling me I could do better and not give up, I already did. Francis was right, it was best we let them be. We've done too much.

The sudden ringing from my phone had me jump straight up. The caller ID happened to be Francis. My eyes caught the top of my phone—the notification bar. It caught the symbol of a message and instantly my heartbeat raced faster than normal. It started skipping a beat, no matter how much I tried to calm myself.

I returned Francis’ call and waited for what seemed like the bad news. His call was too early for the morning and it freaked me out.

“I missed your call Francis, what's going on? You scared me.”
