Chapter 03 Rejection

Alessandra fluttered her eyelashes softly to get rid of the blurry vision when the golden sun rays shone on my face.

An alarm rang in her head when Ales realised that she was sleeping on the queen-sized bed, inside her room at her aunt's place,all alone.

A deep frown settled on Ales's features as she tried to collect the memories of the previous night.

"Ace..."Ales muttered under her breath,she jumped out of the bed and ran to the wooden mahogany door.

"Ace..."Alessandra screamed out her lungs as she descended the grand staircase hurriedly, tears flowed from her eyes as anxiety built up in her chest.

Did he just leave me without saying anything? Did he just leave without telling me if we'll meet again or if that was our last time together?

The only thing Ales could remember was hugging him tightly back in the flower garden. That's how she drifted into a deep sleep, in his arms and inhaling his intoxicating scent deep in her lungs.

"Aunt! Lisa!"Ales screamed when she reached the ground floor.She was still wearing the red gown and barefooted. Her stupid brain didn't think of Wearing any shoes or sandals.

All that was on Alessandra's mind was Ace,her mate.

There was no response,her voice echoed over and over again, the big luxurious house looked like a desert. There was not a single life inside the it .

Did they just run away when she was sleeping like a log? Ales's mind was all messed up,she couldn't think straight. Ales ran to the wooden door and opened it.

"Ace..."She screamed once her foot stepped on the soft Bermuda grass.

A tall figure materialised from the flower garden, running towards Alessandra. She could smell his scent and that made more tears to flow from Alessandra's eyes.

She had thought that Ace had left her all alone. She had thought that he'd slipped from her tight grip just like Leo did two weeks ago. Alessandra bowed her head and soft sobs escaped her lips.

"What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare or something?"Ace asked with a worried face and pulled Alessandra into his warm embrace.She held onto him so tightly because she didn't want to let him go.

Through her teary eyes, Ales could see her aunt and Monalisa looking at her with slightly raised eyebrows. They knew what was happening to Alessandra and she was thankful that they didn't say anything.

Monalisa and her mother looked at Ales and nodded their heads as they exchanged silent words before they walked away, giving them some privacy.

"Why did you leave me all alone?"Alessandra grumbled and wiped tears from her eyes.

"I didn't want to wake you up."Ace said with creased eyebrows. He leaned forward slightly and planted a gentle kiss on Alessandra's messy hair.

"You looked so beautiful and peaceful while asleep, I didn't want to distract you."He said with a sweet smile which made her heart melt into a puddle.

"I...I thought that you had left,"Ales confessed. It was hard to keep it in her fragile heart because she was afraid that it would explode.

"You asked me to stay last night when I laid you on the bed,"Ace Ales's cheeks flushed seven different shades when she heard his words because she couldn't remember anything.

"I promised to stay till morning. I wanted to look into your beautiful eyes when you wake up."Ace said in almost a whisper, his voice was gentle and soothing in Ales's ear.

"Why are you not wearing any shoes?"Ace's eyes widened when he noticed Ales was bare footed. She dragged her feet behind as she tried to hide them.

"Come on, we need to go inside."Ales got lifted in the air before she could even say anything. He carried her princess style and she clung to his shoulders as if her life depended on it.

Alessandra rested her head on his hard yet soft chest and buried her face deep in his neck, inhaling his addicting scent which reminded her that he was still with her, that he had not run away.

Ales's aunt winked at her and Lisa stuck her long tongue out. Alessandra knew they were so happy for her even though they hadn't talked since she found her mate.

"You need to start preparing,"Ace said as he sat Alessandra on the edge of the queen-sized bed.

The girl creased her eyebrows because she didn't know what the hell he was talking about. As if Ace read Ales's mind, he Crouched before her and grabbed Alessandra's hands gently into his.

Ace's hands were warm around Ales's. He took a deep breath and gave it hands a slight squeeze.

"I want you to meet my family. My father and everyone would like to meet you because I'm the next ruler."Ace said with a smile on his lips.

Alessandra's heart pounded wildly because she had never thought that her mate would be an Alpha or some leader.

"Have you informed my aunt and cousin about your plans?"She asked and Ace nodded his head.

"Yes, they know about it. We were still talking when we heard you screaming just minutes ago."Alessandra felt guilty when Ace reminded her of what had just happened a few minutes ago.

She felt bad for distracting their conversation with her stupid conclusion.

"Do you think your father and everyone will like me?"Alessandra asked with a worried voice and gave Ace's hand a slight squeeze.

"I don't care if they like you or not."Ace paused and took a deep sigh escaped his lips.

"All that matters is that I found you and you're my destined mate."He said and his lips curved into a sweet smile which made Alessandra's insides stir sweetly.

That was enough assurance that he would stick by her side no matter what happens. Ales's heart melted into a puddle and tears of happiness flowed from her eyes for the tenth time.

She didn't want to ask more questions. All she had to do was to wait and see everything unfold once she meets his family and everyone. His promise was enough to make all Ales's worries disappear into thin air, everything was going to be fine, he's going to stick by het side in thin and thick.

Ace stood up and planted a kiss on Ales's silk hair.

"I think I should get going so that you can get prepared."He said and Alessandra nodded her head in understanding.

Ales grabbed my cell phone and called her mother instantly after Ace left the room to inform her about everything.

Ales's mother was so happy when she heard the news. She even ended up crying over the phone and told Alessandra how happy she was.

Alessandra stood before the vanity mirror and double-checked herself to make sure that everything was in place.

She was wearing a white dress which fitted her perfectly, black shimmering heels, a black thin watch.She applied light makeup to enhance her beauty and pink paint on her lips.

Alessandra closed her eyes and a small sigh escaped her lips.Her mind jolted back to present when the door clicked opened.She didn't need to raise her head to know who the intruder was.

Monalisa had come to tease her and check how she was dressed.

"Wow, you look so beautiful."Monalisa complimented as she nodded her head in satisfaction when she entered the room.

"Thank you, "Alessandra said with a smile on her lips.

"Breakfast is ready, you must be really hungry after screaming your lungs out."Lisa joked and Ales rolled her eyes upon hearing her teasing.

After talking for a few minutes, they walked out of the room and headed to the dining hall. Monalisa couldn't stop grumbling about how she was going to be lonely.

Alessandra promised to come back and visit her when everything is settled. Lisa pouted and grumbled even more. However, she agreed in the end because she had no choice.

Ace was busy typing something on the cell phone. However, he stopped whatever he was doing and looked Ales's way as they walked inside the dining hall.

His eyes lit up and a smile flashed on his features.Ales smiled back at him nervously and walked to the table, he stood up and pulled a chair for her.

"You look so beautiful."He whispered in her ear, his warm breath on Ales's neck sending chills down her spine.

"Thank you" She mumbled and exhaled slowly. They ate breakfast as they talked about random things and laughed.

Ales was so happy to watch Ace getting along with her family.

"Oh, dear."Patricia said with a sad voice as she pulled her niece into her warm embrace.

"I can't believe you're leaving us."She continued to grumble and her grip around Ales tightened even more. Monalisa joined the hug and mumbled something inaudible.

"Take good care of my niece, okay?"Aunt said with a serious face. Ace wrapped his strong arm across Ales's shoulders and pulled me close to him.

"I'll take good care of her. Don't worry."He said and Patricia nodded her head, slightly convinced by his words.

Monalisa and Patricia waved at Alessandra, they had such sad faces that made Ales think twice about leaving.She waved back at them with a smile on her face and the car pulled off after a short while.

"What's wrong?"Alessandra asked with creased eyebrows when the car stopped a few metres from her aunt's house.

Ace turned his head and looked at her with a smile. Ales raised her eyebrows in confusion. He brushed dark hair strands from Ales's face and away from her neck.

"I want to mark you. I want the damn world to know that you're mine."Ace said with a dangerously low voice as he brushed hair strands from her neck with his warm fingers.

Alessandra leaned in to his feather like touches and nodded her head almost immediately. That's what she had been dreaming about.

Ace face close to Ales's neck. His tongue and mouth were warm on her neck which sent shivers down her spine. Ales tilted her head unknowingly to give him more access.

Ace sucked the soft flesh of Ales's neck teasingly and rolled his tongue playfully. She groaned and held onto his shoulders tightly when his canines sank into her flesh.

It was painful at first. However, the pain faded as he continued to suck on the spot where he had marked and rolled his tongue smoothly.

He stopped when he was certain that Ales's muscles had relaxed.

"You're now mine. Exclusively mine."He said possessively with a smile on his lips,Ales nodded to his words.

She wanted to be his and him to be hers till the end of times.The car pulled off after a few minutes and accelerated on the smooth tarmac road.

They arrived at Ace's home after a six hour Alessandra knotted her eyebrows when she saw the gate guards dressed in military uniforms.

Ales's heart pounded more wildly when she saw the old castle ahead of them. It was build by gem stones and it looked so beautiful when the faint light from the setting sun shone on it.

Ace stopped the car in a private parking lot and climbed down,he walked to the other side and opened car's door for her. Alessandra held onto his stretched arm as she climbed down from the car.

Before she could ask anything, soldiers were on their sides, they guided them towards the palace. They didn't give Ales time to inquire about what was happening.

It seemed like she was the only person who was left in darkness because she couldn't wrap her finger on what was going on.

Ales wanted to ask her mate about what the hell was going on.She could tell that this was not a pack.

It looked more like a kingdom. Normally, werewolves didn't live in kingdoms,they lived in packs.

So,what was happening? Ales questioned herself for hundredth time.

Her doubts was proven right when the king materialised with a golden crown on his head, his face was emotionless and there were masculine men dressed in military outfit behind him for protection purposes.

The king locked eyes with his son and they smiled at each other, exchanging silent words which Ales was unable to understand.

However, the smile on his face vanished when he turned his head and looked at Ales.

Ace grabbed his mate's hand gently and gave it a slight squeeze. Ales smiled at him nervously before looking back at the king.

Ace was by her side just like he had promised. His grip around Ales's hand was tight as an assurance that they were together.

"A werewolf?"The king said with hatred.

Alessandra looked at Ace with creased eyebrows because she didn't understand what was going on. Why did the king hate her that much when they were all werewolves?

Ace let go of her hand as if he was burned with something hot.

He looked surprised and confused by his father's words.Ales's hands became cold all of a sudden as she craved for his warmth.

"A werewolf is not allowed to step foot in this kingdom."The king said in distaste.

"LYCAN don't mate to weak werewolves."His jaw twitched.

"You must reject her."He said with a cold voice which made Ales's head spin upon hearing his heart wrecking words.

It was happening again. Her heart was going to crash into tiny pieces just like two weeks ago. Alessandra couldn't believe that she got marked by a LYCAN.

Ales was supposed to hate them because they were the reason why she didn't have a father. What will her mother say when she finds out that her soon-to-be son-in-law was an LYCAN? People who killed her dear husband during the war?.

Alessandra was in daze, unable to process what was happening because the new information was heavy on her brain. She blamed herself for not asking Ace anything about his background.

She could have avoided everything before it even happened.

Ace turned his head to look at Ales. Amelia, Ales's wolf growled in anger, begging to be released.
