AUTHOR’S POV The windows of the children’s room remained unshot and the boys kept their eyes open while waiting patiently for the day to break. They thought Abel might want to do something terrible in the night. They can't imagine him out of their sight, the thought alone scares them, and that's why they have to keep the window curtains open too. Last night their father had refused them patrolling with Abel and so they had to stay in their rooms and watch his moves.Lucas was agitated but Liam was a bit calm about it, resolving that he might not do anything beyond his control that night after all the day is about breaking when they will be going to where Kalife said and getting solutions to all this mystery. Lucas could not stop pacing around the room. He had paranoia apparently and the whole night he imagined all the worst-case scenarios and he kept Liam awake with vivid descriptions of all of them. Liam wrote down a few sensible ones that were likely to happen to them so they
KALIFE’S POV He stopped running to catch his breath, his hands on his knees breathing fast as we started laughing. First, he found our little stunts so humorously and laughed, his fangs showing and his blue eyes glittering. I always found his appearance alluring and so I smiled when I saw the expression on his face.“We had such a good strategy, that I cannot wait to brag about it to my father when we get back home,” Liam said, still laughing, his voice echoing a little in a quiet temple. I signaled to him, to bring his voice down and he responded immediately.“I know we tried,” I said smiling at him, he felt encouraged and laughed again showing his fangs. Making our way into the temple amidst those two soldiers at the entrance by the left and right is not easy. If not for the distraction Lucas caused, there's no way we would have passed.“Let's get to the library now,” Liam said to me, returning the mood to its original state of seriousness.“Yes, come with me,” I said, turni
KALIFE’S POV We have two rendezvous, the one in the forest close to the temple and the one in the city. We had decided on our way back, to head straight for the city rendezvous so we could check the books we brought from the temple and understand what we had on them.So we would find out about Abel and what exactly to tell the king about him.The place was located behind an old shop owned by a lazy old man. Liam thought of the place because it was secluded and the old man rarely opened the shop. So people rarely notice us there.Lucas got there first, our bags on his back, he let them down, opening the door while Liam and I stopped one after the other beside the house shifting back.Liam walked to his brother and helped him take the bag while Lucas continued to unlock the place. I stayed behind them wondering.“This kingdom will be in good hands in the future if these two work together to build it but I sense something bad is going to happen if they end up being enemies, and If th
AUTHOR'S POV The twins returned to the palace, Kalife was supposed to go home while they handled things from there, but before Kalife left she gave the secret book to Liam to give the Alpha. Now Emily was sitting on the bed, Lucien lying on her lap and sleeping. He didn't say anything about the boys, she did not ask too, because she knew he would say it when the time was right. She helped Lucien position himself on the bed, so he could sleep very well without straining his neck. She lay awake beside him on the bed, not because she was thinking about anything. She was holding the book the boys gave to their father when they came back and was wondering what was in it that made it so secretive. She flipped open the first page, there was an inscription “WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PALACE’’. Emily's attention was drawn Immediately. She started flipping through the rest of the pages and more words began to surface. She raced back to the first page and began to read it again, out loud but quietly.
AUTHOR'S POVShe looked, it was Lucien. He was not wearing a smile at all. She already understands that looks, so she reframed from upsetting him immediately. “Can you stop reading this crap? Stop corrupting your mind.” Lucien's deep voice showed clear upset.“Am sorry. I was going to give it to you.”Emily apologized almost whispering.“Never mind.” Lucien sat up and got off the bed, took the book to a box where he kept files he didn't want people to access. He kept it deep inside, locked it, so no one would be able to access it anymore, and returned to her.He kissed her forehead and then the tip of her nose. She allowed him to pull her into his embrace and cuddle her in the bed when he was back on the bed.Emily feared to ask but she wanted to know if he knew about it. She wanted to know so badly but was afraid of how Lucien would take it if she asked. Lucien noticed her.“Don't hide it. What do you want to know? I will answer anything.” Emily gulped, his voice did not sound encour
MALCOLM'S POV I woke up as sore as hell, I could not even move my hands. I returned to lying on the bed. “What the hell did I do last night?”I tried to remember but my memory was hazy. In my confusion, someone opened my door and walked in. He chuckled immediately after he saw me...“You look damn fine today.”I scoffed at the mockery in his voice.“It still doesn't make me as hideous as Nathaniel.” I laughed my ass off for a while but he didn't join me. No biggie, Nobody ever gets me anyway. He came close to me and helped me stretch my arms and legs and I could finally get out of bed.“Thank you, Tristan, I needed that.”. I thanked him. Continuing the stretch myself.“Remind me again what I did yesterday because I cannot remember,” I said to him, already used to his silence around me. He raised his eyebrows and then started laughing. “You are a madman, Malcolm. You are sick in the head. Yesterday, you raised a group of revolvers that went rogue, men, women, and children.
EMILY'S POV I stood on the top of the castle walls looking down to the modern city, cars honking and beta littering the streets. The lights from the lamps that light the night outside, come in to signify that night was all too near. Standing here and watching the city I administered over was supposed to be a delight but I felt so incomplete and unable to enjoy it at all.Lucien left with Lucas and Liam three days ago but it seems it has been ten years since they left because I'm alone in the palace. I missed them. He took Abel with him too. Andy was still on suspension so basically, I was alone. Hurrying footsteps came to my hearing, interrupting my thoughts. My eyes went to the left, waiting for the owner of the footsteps to show his face. The man came into view immediately. He was in the robe of the council. He looked quite upset. I heaved, looking away. “Another call for a council meeting. No wonder Lucien hated council meetings. Any small thing, they would call for council meet
EMILY'S POV Murmurs spread across the whole room immediately. I suddenly felt weak inside. The laborers had never revolted before. Not because of fear but because they were treated quite well by Lucien indeed. They were what he used to show the people that he was a king, kind to all. The laborers have become the yardstick for measuring the goodness of Alpha Lucien. If they revolted it meant they were saying that Lucien instilled fear in them to speak up about his hypocrisy but now he is absent they have found their voice to speak. It was ridiculous but for some reason, people took it all too seriously in this kingdom.“Take me there. Let me see the revolters.”I left where I stood, approaching the wolf guard. Trying to hide my frightened spirit. “My Luna, the matter is not for you to act on at the moment. We have to check the status quo and inform you first.”. The wolf chief stopped me with his words. I heaved softly making sure none of my enemies in the room would tell that I was
EMILY'S POV They disengaged and then I led the way, we walked together into our room. Where Lucien lay.His eyes were half closed but he could recognize us all. He stretched out his hand to Liam. Liam took it.“What is happening? It's been a long time since the family was completely like this. It's been a while since I saw Liam.”He breathed. "We are going to try something. We hope and pray it works.”“What?” "Just watch and see. Be calm.”I stepped aside, Liam let go of his hand and we moved away from him. Lucas closed his eyes and held his father's hand. His essence began to glow in his heart and split in half. We watched with groped hearts and pensive spirits as Lucas shared his essence with Lucien. Immediately it was complete, Lucas slumped on the ground, his skin paled out a little, and his hair turned grey.I ran to him, touching him to see if he was still warm. He was and I breathed in great relief.Liam touched me.“Attend to father. I can handle him.” I nodded and stood u
EMILY'S POV There I'd nothing to say you need not disturb yourself self my Luna”He looked a little my way and then continued driving.“You saw me. At the trance you had in the cave, didn't you? And you didn't fail “ He looked at me and immediately our eyes crossed he couldn't lie anymore.“I didn't, I instantly knew it was not you. But I was carried away for a moment and I almost failed.”"Oh, I see. It's very understandable. He played with our minds to know the secrets we harbor that will lead us to evil if given the chance” “I thought so too. It was a very funny plan though and it works well if you do not know who you are with very well.” Dion Wright said."When we get back, you are granted a two-year leave. Go marry and have a what young man do. That will automatically fix this problem”" Thank you my Luna. I hope that I can find a woman like you” he said lightly. Our conversation ended we did not speak again even when he wheeled the car into the palace. I stepped out and looke
EMILY'S POV The old she-wolf looked back at me. She smiled as she saw the relief on my face. “You have come a long way."I nodded my head laughing.“Well, it all ends here. Remember this before you meet the creature you must not harbor any secret in your heart.”She looked at the bag of weapons Dion was carrying.“You should know that you are not supposed to take that in with you.”Dion smiled and spoke for the first time in hours.“We can't take chances. If there is no need to use it then we will not use it.”“If you say so. Be careful though. I will wait here.”I looked at her. “You are not coming in with us?”“Yes. I will hand you my staff so that it will serve as a symbol to the creature that I brought you but I cannot go in with you. You will have to answer for yourself by yourself.”I huffed ‘This is just great ‘“My Luna let's get going. The earlier the better.” Dion whispered into my ear“Of course” I took the staff from the lady and we began to make our way into the mounta
EMILY'S POVHeartbroken I pulled out of Dion's arm and yelled out into the forest.“How dare you ask me to come here without having the solution to my problem. I believed you existed like you have said and I followed the map. I came here. How can you tell me what isn't true? Does it amuse you to play with the heart of the wounded? Guess you deserve all that has happened to you and your people then ”My tears wet my clothes and My head ached because of anger. Amid my yelling, I heard a chuckle of an old voice.“So you came? I am impressed, Luna. I have never seen someone as desperate as you are. You must love this husband of yours so much."I looked toward the voice, and Dion looked too. An old Woman emerged from the burnt forest. “I am the One who sent you the letter. Honestly, I simply replicated the letter indeed to those I told that I had the cure to the problem. No one had ever honored my invite before and then the city was still in full bloom. I certainly did not expect that t
SOME MONTHS AFTER.EMILY'S POV I carried the baby down and Lucas took him from my hand. He cuddled the little pup and he giggled loudly.“At this rate, we will all be heard," someone spoke behind me, it was Liam, dressed in the robe of his father.Lucas stuck his tongue out at him, “Stop whining about your brother mini-Alpha Liam.”Liam glared at him. And Lucas laughed his ass off as usual." Asshole come along you know we have a patrol this evening and I cannot do it alone.” Liam beckoned on his brother. Lucas excused himself to keep the child inside.Liam looked at me. Who was silently watching them?“Are you going out again?" He asked his voice sober."Yes apparently... I have news that a man in one of the kingdoms in the east has some information that might help me.”He heaved. “Another assumption.”I gave him an accusing look."Mother please get me right, am trying to say I want my father to be healed too, it's just that… it's been roughly a year and a half since he got t
EMILY'S POV" Am what… " I let go of him. And pulled myself up On the bed.“Am with what( am pregnant? How?… I mean how come? I.. I didn't see any sign, there was no sign at all.” Shock is written all over me.Lucien kissed my cheek. “My warrior wife was too busy to notice."Seriously I could not comprehend how I was with child the whole time. And still did not know despite all the stress I went through. So many thoughts were going through my head at the same time. Lucien's came to my rescue.“Stop thinking. You just woke up, nothing is going to make sense for now but by tomorrow morning, you will be more fine. Okay? “I breathed, my nerves still not calm maybe it was because I was very confused or maybe it was because I was sitting in between Lucien's legs and he was staring at me with his cold ecstatic eyes filled with passion.“I missed you so much.” He muttered and my heart fluttered. He kissed me, going deeper. I missed him more and I got carried away, pressing him on the bed for
EMILY'S POV . “Lucien” his name escaped from my mouth the moment I realized he was the one behind me. He smiled heartily. Holding me firmly so I would not fall. “When did you get here? How come you are here?".I asked weakly. 'Let's finish things first we will talk about this later.” He said to me. His voice reassuring. I decided to follow his decision. We both went to find the boys. The forbidden rooms were extra large., We could not get through all of it by ourselves, soldiers were disbursed to search all areas. I tried connecting to them through the mind link but they were not linking back with me.Lucien's tried to sniff them out but nothing was working. I began to doubt that they were in that room at all. The thought left my heart beating fast on my chest. I tried to calm myself but the feeling persisted. Not wavering at all.Lucien noticed my distress, and he connected to me through a mind link and spoke.“Emily the boys will be fine. They are stronger than anything we know of
(SIDE STORY)AUTHOR'S POV The trio bought tickets and went inside. They sat in front. Kalife sitting between them. The movie began and ran for four hours. The three slept through the entire film. When the movie was over they picked up their tired selves and left the Cinema.“Did You get to watch some part of the movie?” Lucas asked Kalife who was stretching herself outside."Nope. The movie was boring as hell."Lucas chuckled nervously. This plan was a waste. What else can he do now?“Whose hungry? I know a place."“Well I think we should head back," she answered.“Come on, Kalife don't you want to explore the city? Let's take a small road trip and then stop to eat at the restaurant owned by a beta called Max Meyers” Lucas nudged her shoulder a little. “Well, I do like a good adventure ” she smiled a little."Alright, let's go" Lucas slipped his hand into Kalife's finger, interlocking them. He pulled her forward. They were running through the streets the next moment. Liam tightened
(SIDE STORY)LIAM'S POV I looked away. Kalife was the traveling type but I honestly did not know she had never been to the cinema. If I did, I would have taken her there one of these days now. Lucas was now the one asking her to go with him.‘Well, it's good, it's not a big deal.’ I tried convincing myself, although I had mixed feelings about the whole thing. As much as I tried to distract myself with the trainers and the games that they were preparing for, I could not help but keep thinking about the idea of Lucas and Kalife going to the cinema together, so I wasn't paying attention to what they were saying again.I remember Kalife turned down Lucas’ request because he told her I wouldn't need to be there. Before they left I took a side glance at them. My eyes spotted their hands interlocking and Lucas pulling her away.I looked sharply at them but they were already running out of the training ground before I could do anything.'Liam calm down. He just wanted to drag her out, it's
