Makaila rushed out of class immediately the last bell went. She had only five minutes to get to the cafe where she worked per time. She quickly brought out her skates from her locker, slipped it on and started to roll.
She made it to the cafe in ten minutes and quickly went in. The owner of the cafe is a woman with an indifferent character. Sometimes she burns cold and sometimes she burns hot. Makaila was really hoping that today was one of the days she would be cold. And thankfully it was.
"I'm so sorry I'm late, Miss Sanchez." Makaila said.
"Just get to your duty post. I do not have time to exchange words with you." Miss Sanchez dismissed.
Makaila quickly took her apron and started getting the table ready for customers. She was a waiter so she took her note pad and slipped it into her apron pocket. Soon customers started to come in. Makaila groaned when she saw the people coming in.
The Jocks and cheerleaders of Malcolm High.
Yeah! Today is my lucky day.
Not!
This was their usual hang out spot and they also kept mistreating Makaila whenever she was the one waiting their table. They all sat on the big table and one of the Jocks yelled for a waitress. Makaila made her way to their table.
"Awww look, It's our favourite weirdo. How revolting." One of the cheerleaders, Cassandra scoffed. Makaila ignored what she said and brought out her note pad.
"I will be your waitress for today. What will you like to order?" She asked.
"How about a little bit of fashion sense, good sneakers, class and beauty for you. You really need it." Bethany sized her up with a smirk, while settling on Christian's lap. Makaila fought the urge to speak.
"Bethany, if you give her all of those, we won't be able have the kind of fun we used to have with her." Tyler grinned wickedly.
"Plus, it's a total waste of time trying to reform her. She's a fashion blunder, just look at her." Natalie scoffed.
"Guys, that's enough. You have kept her here long enough. If you do not want to order just let her go." Christian said all frustrated.
"But baby, we were just trying to have fun." Bethany cooed with a pout that made Makaila roll her eyes.
"That wasn't fun." Christian told her matter of factly and looked at Makaila who had an expressionless face on.
"We are so sorry for keeping you for long. We will love an extra large Pizza, Six diet coke for the cheerleaders and 7 choco latte with extra whipped cream." He said as Makaila wrote it down and walked away to the cash register. Her coworker, Deborah looked at her with pity.
"They are giving you an hard time again?" She asked.
"They always give me an hard time. I'm like a puppet to them. They use me for their own little fun. I'm already used to it" Makaila smirked.
"Can't you report to the Principal or something?" Deborah asked.
"No. Their parents are kinda like the movers and shakers of the school. They sponsor everything going on in the school. If I report whose side would he be on? My side or their side?" Makaila stated
"You have a point. But that's just wrong." Deborah said.
"I have gone through stuffs that are way worse. I only have one hundred and eighty five days to go then I'm off to college. I can endure it." Makaila concluded as she took the tray of extra large pizza and drinks and walked to their table.
"Took you long enough." Bethany snorted. Makaila ignored her again and that seemed to anger Bethany. Makaila placed the tray on their table. Bethany took her diet coke and made it slip so that it could pour on Makaila's cloths. Makaila gasp and quickly stepped back.
The Coke also poured on her sneakers. They were her only pair of shoes. She was so frustrated, she almost started crying, in fact beads of tears were already coming out of her eye.
"What did you just do?! You did that on purpose." Makaila snapped.
"Oh I'm sorry. Did I ruin your cloths and your shoes. I am sure you will get a new one. Oh wait, you live on peanuts so there is no way you will get money to buy new cloths and shoes." Bethany chuckled with the rest of the guys. Only Christian looked pissed. Makaila turned and ran into a room, Deborah following behind.
"Bethany that was low, even for you." Christian said. Everyone stopped laughing and looked at him like he had grown horns on his head.
"Come on baby, you have got to admit that was really fun." Bethany smiled.
"No! That was really immature. You made her cry, that wasn't nice." Christian told them.
"Christian we make her cry every time. It just never gets old." James smirked.
"Well, it should. We are seniors. We should act like one." Christian said.
"Since when did you start caring about people like her? She's worthless." Chase stated. Christian sighed.
"Let's just eat. At least if you guys want to make her suffer do it at the most minimal level." Christian said.
"Then what's the fun of it if it is minimal?" Tyler smirked.
"I give up." Christian murmured.

Makaila got to her house in the evening, wet sneakers on one hand, bag and roller skates in the other. She entered the house and saw it was a mess, indicating that her dad had a party, again. She saw him sitter on the couch watching a TV station and started to walk pass him."Hey, come back here." His deep voice snapped. Makaila stopped and turned to him.
"What?" She asked.
"Who will clean up all this mess? Angels? Come and clean this mess this instant." He glared.
"No!" Makaila replied. His face snapped to her side, his face read with anger. He stood up slowly. Makaila was scared but he wasn't going to push her around anymore.
"What did you say?" He asked.
"I said No. It's your mess. Clean it up." She told him point blank and started to walk away.
Suddenly she felt his hold her her long dark hair and in a second she was flung to the other side of the room. Her back hit the wall violently and she fell to the ground in pains. She groaned looking up to her dad as tears made their way out of her eyes. She saw him remove his leather belt.
"This will teach you your manners!!" She heard him say before she felt the iron buckle hit her body with force. She screamed so loud and was sure the whole neighborhood heard. But no one dared to challenge Dennis. He was a strong man.
The buckle kept hitting her and she wanted to run but he pulled her back by her hair and slapped her, causing blood to come out of her mouth. Her back was wounded and there were reopened scars already bleeding. He kept hitting her with the belt before stopping.
"I am going out now. By the time I am back and this place is not clean, you will be in so much trouble. Because I won't stop beating you till I hear your ribs crack." He told her and with that, he walked out.
Makaila mustered all her strength to stand up and started parking the broken bottled and cups. A broken piece of a bottle even pierced her leg and she winced in pain. Her body was on fire but she still tried to get everything done on time. She went to her room immediately after and locked her self, curled up into a ball and cried herself to sleep.
Makaila got to school very late. Her face was swollen and red and she tried her best to cover all her scars by wearing a baggy hoodie. She rushed into class while they were almost ending third period. Immediately she entered the class, all eyes were on her. "You are late." Miss Tamika stated eyeing her with distaste. "I'm sorry, I really had a bad night." Makaila muttered. "Just get to your seat." Miss Tamika dismissed her and continued to teach. She found an empty space at the back and went to sit down. She saw Bethany and the other Cheerleader murmuring something and she was very sure it was about her. As soon as the bell went, signaling the end of the period, Makaila rushed out of the class to the rest room. Thankfully, no one was inside. She stood in front of the mirror and saw how bloated she looked. She still had
Makaila couldn't skate with the sprain on her ankle. She started walking all the way home from school, though it was pretty far. Using skates, it was like thirty five minutes but on foot, It was an hour and some minutes. Her legs were killing her and there were visible bruises all over her body.No one made a move to give her a ride, all their thoughts pointing to one direction. What if she dies in the car on the way to a hospital and the police charges them for murder? No one was willing to take that risk. At every step she took, pain filled her body. It felt like any minute, she would slump and pass out. She reached a road where cars weren't moving any more. Her vision became blurry and she began to stagger. She shook her head, trying to stay awake but her body was giving in to the weakness. She felt darknes
Makaila's POVI woke up with a very bad headache, still oblivious about my surrounding. My body still hurt but not as bad as before. Trying to remember what happened, I looked around and widened my eyes when I noticed that I wasn't in my room. I knew that because my room wasn't this big. I was on a king sized bed and it was incredibly soft, unlike my small brick like bed at home. I noticed my sprained ankle was in a bandage and a plaster on my fore head. I got down from the bed and opened the door, looking around for someone who would explain where I was and what I was doing here exactly. The house was big, that's for sure and everything looked so luxurious and well furnished. Maybe I had finally died and gone to Heaven. I chuckled at the thought I saw a stair case and began to descend it, minding my step. When I got to the foot o
Makaila's POVI was running through a dark road . I had no idea where I was going but I just kept running. He was chasing me. He wanted to hurt me like always. I didn't see the tree stump on the ground and that made me trip. He was getting closer. I could see his shadow approaching and I could also hear his wicked laugh. He came into view. "I've got you now." He smirked. I tried to run but my leg wouldn't let me. I was trapped. I saw a figure close by. "Help! Please help me!" I called out. The figure came into view and I saw who it was."Mum?""You will never amount to anything. No one loves you. No one will ever love you. You are a curse! I hate you." She spat out. "Please mum, help me. Don't le
Makaila's POVI went back to staying at my house soon after. The last thing I wanted was for Bethany to meet me at her boyfriend's house. The ray of sun light entering the room made me wake up. I groaned as I tossed and turned on the bed. Mondays were my worse days, probably everyone's worse days. I finally turned to look at my alarm clock. My eyes nearly bulge out of their sockets. It was 8:30! Fuck! I slept past my alarm! I had less than an hour to get to school. I ran to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Then wore a casual white tee shirt, black Jeans pants and stuffed my black hoodie inside my bag. I took my sneakers in one hand and my rollers in another and started rushing down stairs. I didn't see my father in sight but I don't care. I rushed out and started to wear my rollers. I only had twenty minutes left.
Makaila's POVIt was lunch break and everyone was in the cafeteria. Nigel decided to sit with me today. It felt nice because I have never had anyone seat with me before. We were talking when the cafeteria door flew open and the clique of jocks came, Christian leading the way. All of them in their varsity jackets. I felt a tinge of familiarity. I couldn't help but feel they all wore it for a reason. They rarely wore their jackets except they were having a game that evening. I looked at Nigel with a raised eyebrow. "They are planning to do a welcome party for a new student." He clarified. That statement alone made my eyes widen in realization. "Seriously?! That awful. Christian won't let them do it, will he?" I asked. "Makaila, sometimes he doesn't have a say. I wonder if he is really a captain." Nigel sighed.
Makaila's POVFor a while, Tyler and the others stopped bullying me, mostly because Nigel was always with me. They tried to take delight in hurting Rita as well but Nigel still won't let them. If anything, they feared Nigel. He is a nice guy but whenever he means business, he means business. Christian and I didn't talk anymore. He acted like I don't exist and I did the same. Though I couldn't but feel somehow about it. Get a grip Makaila. He chose the enemy's side. Rita had no friends because people made fun of her curves, saying she was fat. Though she wasn't slim like me but I'd rather call her curvy. Nigel asked her to hang out with us and we became friends. Nigel had an unusual soft spot for Rita. I started noticing it early but I didn't give an open eye to it at first, well that was until Nigel started walking Rita to class, checking up on
Christians POVI sighed as the cold water from the shower hit my skin. I allowed it to run down my body as Itried to get the picture of what just happened out of my mind. Bethany and I just finished a second round of sex. I called her because I just couldn't get Makaila out of my mind and trust me I have tried. She just seemed to be stuck there. Calling Bethany was the only way I saw fit to get her out of my head. It didn't work. Lately, Bethany has become annoying to me in different ways. She started to seem too clingy but I didn't want to show her that her presence has begun to irritate me. I haven't stopped thinking about Makaila today or what she said to me after the cafeteria incident. What she had said that day hit a nerve and I desperately wanted to prove to her that I wasn't like the others. I wanted her to know that I was di
Makaila's POVTen years later.I rubbed my big baby bump and smiled as I watched my little boy, Kayden run around playing fetch with Bruno, our dog. I gave the maids the final instructions as they set the big buffet table, getting ready for the barbeque get together they would be having in two hours. People were already beginning to show up. I looked at my watch and sighed. My husband, Christian's flight should have landed by now and Rita and Nigel would pick him up on their way. At least, they should have called.Christian was a star quarterback on the best football team in the nation. He was always away from home, representing his country in several world championships but he doesn't let it affect his time with his family. He was always at home whenever Kayden and I needs him most and He doesn't miss any family celebration. He also doesn't let the fame affect his relationshi
Makaila's POVEverything was back to normal. School became a place I loved to go to eery single day. No more bullying, fighting and all sort of shit. Christian and I became the most popular couple and even though I hated the whole popularity stuff, I had to get used to it and Christian was really understanding. He never made me feel uncomfortable. Whenever we are at parties, does not leave me alone to hang out with his guys. He stays with me every single time. He makes me feel so special. He always have. I can't stop loving him because he made everything concerning me perfect. As for Bethany, she got an early admission into Juliad and had to leave school very early. I was happy for her. Though we were not all buddy, buddy, we were able to work it through. We are all almost done with senior year and everyone was preparing for prom. Rita and I decided that we would go to the mall to get our
RECAP FROM LAST CHAPTERSuddenly, I felt a strong pair of hand around my waist and the persons chin on my shoulder. From his strong cologne smell that I have gotten used to I knew it was Christian. I giggled and stopped rinsing my hand, placed it on his and held him there. He nuzzles his head into the nape of neck and started kissing me there. My weak spot. I moaned slightly."What are you doing, Christian? You are supposed to be out there. It's your party." I whispered."It's not the same without you out there with me." He muttered, still kissing my neck."I have to handle things around." I told him. He turned me around and I was sandwiched between the kitchen island and him. I couldn't even think straight when he this close to me."I want you beside me at all times..." He said, his was husky. Maybe I also had that same effect on him when he was close to me. Not that im complaining. I want him closer than this to me."Uhn... Uhn..." That's all I could come up with, my mind filled wit
Recap from the previous Chapter... Christian came out of surgery the next morning and was taken to his private room. Though he was still induced in Coma, the Doctor assured us that everything was fine. Rose had told me to go home and freshen up since I've been in the hospital three days without having my bath. I heed and went home to have my bath and change. I was just wearing my jeans pants when a call came in. I checked and saw it was Nigel. I picked it up. "Nigel?" I said."Makaila, we need you to get to the hospital right now. Something is terribly wrong." He suddenly said. My eyes went wide as saucers and I almost fainted. No this isn't happening! "What?!" I exclaimed, hoping I was hearing wrongly. "Christian is not breathing well." He stated and I could hear the quiver in his voice. My heart almost stopped. "The Doctor said there are some
Recap from previous chapter... That was until we all heard a sound of several gun shots. We looked and saw Dennis with a gun in his hand. His hands were not cuffed anymore and he had tackled and killed some police men. The gun in his hand was directly pointed at Makaila who seemed frozen in fear as she couldn't move. Nigel held Rita close to his body as some sort of protection. I guess I spoke to soon. "Dennis, what are you doing?" I snapped at him. He shot the gun to the air several times and then pointed it at me which made me back down for a moment "Shut up, pretty boy!" He glared. Guns from several police where pointed at him but no one could shoot because he had his gun pointed to Makaila. Anything could happen. Dennis pointed the gun back at Makaila. "I should have gotten rid of you when I had the chance.""Why?!" Makaila w
Recap from last chapterMakaila's POVImmediately his delicate lips touched mine, I melted into his arms and started to kiss him back. It wasn't so comfortable because my hands are tied but I have missed Christian so much. I thought I would never see him again. He pulled back and touched his forehead to mine, using his thumb to clean my tears. "Look what they did to you." He cooed, inspecting my body. I chuckled through my tears and made him look at me. "I'm fine, but you need to explain what is going on to me. I got your note two weeks ago and and after that, there was nothing. What's going on?" I asked at him eagerly, desperately pleading for an explanation. Christian pulled me closer to his body and held me. "Baby, calm down. This is all Nigel's plan to get you out. Bethany was the one that opened up to us about your where about and
Recap from Previous Chapter.Makaila's POVMy tummy growled and I winced. Since I was brought here I haven't gotten anything to eat. The door opened and I looked up, my damp hair hanging on the sides of my face from sweat. It was Tyler. He smirked as he got closer to me. He removed the tape from my mouth and looked at me. "Look at you. You could have gotten me when you had the chance." He said. "Thanks but no thanks. I think I am better off this way." I smirked at him. "You are arrogant but I know you want me. You are a fücking whore taunting me with those cloths that you wear." He growled out but I looked on, not saying any word. That seemed to irritate him. "Christian is not coming to save you. You know that right. Now I can have my fun with you for as long as I can." He leaned in wanting to kiss
Christian's POVI raked my fingers through my hair in utter frustration, pacing the length and breath of the living room. The police men and I had just conducted another search for Makaila to no avail. I groaned in anger and I clenched my fist in anger, frustration, sadness and fear.Nigel and Rita had taken their turn in searching everywhere. Makaila's mum was safe in her hotel room with the police men on guard at every nook and cranny suddenly took my keys, entered my car and zoomed off to my favourite bar. I need something to drink, something, anything to get my mind off this whole situation. I got there and went to the stand."One shot." I told the bar tender. He nodded and served me.I drank it in one gulp and suddenly started to feel light headed. I suddenly felt the urge to cry. Makaila was slipping away through my fingers and I could not do anything about it. I have been expecting a call for ransom or anything but nothing was coming in. I do not want to loose her. I can't loose
Christian's POVAfter the incident at the station and getting to know that Makaila's father was out there and would be back for her, I became very concerned about the entire situation. I could not imagine anything happening to Makaila. Nigel and I came up with a ridiculous but genius plan and that was, we would be following her everywhere she goes,Without her consent, that is. We had to do it that way because we were certain that if she get to know what we are planning, she would kill the both of us, literally. But we had to do it because it was for her own good. It seemed like the only way, I am sure to keep her safe. I don't want to loose her. Not now, Not ever. I love her. The police were also available to keep watch around the house, any day but the weekends. They were doing their own investigations and trying to keep tabs on everything. I didn't leave Makaila sight especially at ni
