(Serena's POV)

In a pitch-black chamber, I awoke. I sense my surroundings, and based on the softness of the surface I'm lying on, I assume I'm in a bed. My left face hurt as I moved as if I had been hit in the face by a large fist.

I then all of a sudden remembered everything.

One... Three... No. There are four.

I was taken by four unidentified men, but I overheard one man mention that he knew Marcus. I started to feel anxious as I gradually realized my current situation.

Before they hurt me again, I have to leave this place. But how?

I search the area with a trembling hand for the window or door. But immediately, I tripped over something hard, possibly a chair. Due to the ache in my face and knee, I moaned and grimaced in discomfort.

I gradually realized that my room might not have a window and also I didn't know which side of the room is the entrance located. Not a single light can be seen in the pitch-black room.
