         ALISTER'S POV

"You will be totally disappointed," she replied. "I lack manners and tend to make mistakes in whatever I do. Where ever I go people tend to complain about me. Some even say I'm bad luck and choose to stay away from me. Also, I'm currently suffering from a severe contagious disease."

My lips curved into a smirk after listening to her reply. Light Greyjoy, the one trying her very best to lose. It's quite funny though, seeing how the others were doing their best to win, while Light, on the other hand, was doing her best to fail. Little did she know that even her failure would not keep her from me and that the test was only for formality.

For many years, I have tried to avoid picking a human concubine, while hoping to find my mate, as finding a mate would be a way to help me avoid such customs. however, to no avail, all my efforts were futile.

The time I was given to find a mate was long over, and just as the custom says, if an alpha doesn't find his mate for more than 50 years, he has to take a human concubine.

A human concubine who will fill the place of a mate, and give the alpha heirs. Although at first, I didn't like the idea of it, after meeting Light Greyjoy, I think it wouldn't be such a bad idea.

From the moment I saw her, there was something about her, something I couldn't fathom, pulling me toward her. I also felt a great sense of familiarity even though we had only just met.

"She's quite a spooky one, alpha. I wonder what you see in her," Raven my beta said through mind-link, as he walked toward me.

I eyed him before replying in a stern tone "Leave it for me to judge."

Raven raised his hands in surrender, before taking his attention to Light, whilst I did the same. Although she was spooky, she was very beautiful.

"That was quite an answer Light Greyjoy, however, I did not ask about what others think of you or if you suffered an illness."

"I only thought it was right to let you know," Light retorted fearlessly, staring right at me with her electric blue eyes which I find really captivating.

I already know quite a bit about her. not just her, I had my research done on all the girls right after I picked them, so I knew everything she said was a lie.

If it were others in her place, I would have had them punished or gotten rid of them for lying right to my face but for some reason, it didn't seem to bother me, rather it only piqued my interest further.

"Raven, tell Lysa to take the girls back to their dorm, I've already decided on whom to choose," I mind-linked him.

"Alright alpha," he replied. "Let me guess, you choose the spooky lady," he quickly added and I sent him a death glare.

"Shut it Raven, or I will cut off your tongue and feed it to the snakes," with that, I left the hall after giving Light one last look.

Although I had to admit, the name miss spooky kind of suits her well.

    LIGHT'S POV

After the test, we were taken back to our room, to await the alpha king's decision. Although I knew I would fail the test, there was still this feeling of uncertainty and panic.

From what I saw back at the hall, the alpha king did not seem the slightest bit upset about my reply or my performance. could it be he was good at masking his emotions? I pondered.

We only had to wait a few minutes before Lysa came back to announce the result.

"As you all know, only one amongst the five of you was chosen, while the rest are to return to their respective homes," Lysa announced with a faint smile

"Light," she called my name and said nothing else. Maybe I'm the first one to leave, I thought and so did the other girls.

"Well it's no surprise she's the first to leave, after all her performance was the worst," Kayla said and they all laughed.

However, her words did not upset me, I was happy to know that I was leaving this place, and going back to my house and my life of solitude.

Turning around, my lips curved into a happy smile, nonetheless, it was short-lived as Lysa announced. "Light, I didn't say you should leave. You have been chosen amongst the five to be the alpha king's concubine."

Say what now? Hold on! Wait a minute! Pause! Rewind. Did she just say I was chosen?

"Uhmm Lysa, did you just say I was chosen?" I asked to be sure. Not just me, the other girls curiously stared at her for an answer.

"Yes Light, you have been chosen," she answered. "The alpha king sees the worst as the best. He prefers difference, and Light was different. Both in her performance and answer. The alpha king wasn't looking for the one who passed the test, otherwise, the test would have been much more difficult, he was looking for the different one."

My eyes widen in disbelief as I stare at Lysa speechless. No, this can't be! I was such a fool to have not seen this coming...

The other girls stare at me with so much envy and hate as they were led out of the room by a guard. Little did they know that I would give anything to be in their position.

"Light, come with me," Lysa said, leading me out of the room.

There were many other people as she lead me through a hall, probably to where I would be staying, I didn't bother to ask.

"Welcome to the Feral pack, Light, I hope you enjoy your stay," Lysa said immediately after we entered a room.

Compare to my old room back at home, it was much bigger, more exquisite, and painted in blue. There was a medium size bed in the middle of the room, a wardroom and wall mirror, and also a walk-in bathroom.

"This would be your room... Clothes and other lady stuff have been provided for you, if you need anything else, you ask," Lysa smiled warmly and muttered. "Your duty is to take care of the alpha and obey his command at all times. Don't get on his nerve, he has a very short temper. Rest well today. tomorrow you'll resume your duty. You'll also be given a tour around the pack house so you'd be familiar with the place." With that, she exited the room, leaving me by myself.

The next day, I lazily stumbled out of bed as yesterday's event replayed in my head. I was chosen as the alpha king's concubine. What a misfortune!

With a deep scowl on my face, I immediately got out of bed to freshen up_ once I was done, there was a resounding knock on my door.

"Who is it?" I inquired as I scanned through the wardrobe for what to wear.

"Light greyjoy, you've been summoned by the alpha king," a man's deep voice resounded from the other side of the door, and I let out a dejected sigh. At the same time, taking a simple black dress from the wardrobe.

Hastily, I wore the dress, styling my hair in a messy bun, before walking out of the room.

A bulky man with red hair stood outside my door. "Good morning, lady Light, I will lead you to the alpha's room," he said, turning around without waiting for my reply. And I trailed quickly after him as we walked down the endless hallway.

"Alpha, the girl is here," he announced once we got a room with a golden door.

"Let her in," came a reply from the other side of the door.

The man immediately opened the door for me, and I strolled in after taking a deep breath.

Although it was the early hours of the morning, the room was extremely dark, and I couldn't see anything. However, I felt a dominating and powerful aura, making me feel as though I had just entered the devil's lair.

"Good morning, Light," A deep enchanting voice called out my name, and before I could react, the room became bright thus I could now see everything.

It was a big exquisite room, with a dark and grey design, and a huge painting of a man and a wolf hung on the wall. There was also a king-size bed in the middle and probably a walk-in closet and bathroom. It looked like those rooms you only see on the television and in magazines.

"Congratulations on winning the concubine test," the voice said again and I swerved in the direction only to see Alpha Alister sitting on a chair that looked like a throne.

He was staring right at me with his piercing gaze, and it felt as though he was peering into the deepest part of my soul. Not just that, but he looked inhumanly gorgeous.

"Since you're now my concubine, your first duty is to give me a bathe," he declared, before standing up from his throne.

My eyes widen in shock, and a gasp escaped my lips, not because of what he said, but because he was standing before me, completely naked.

ALISTER'S POVMy eyes gleamed in excitement when Light loosened her hair, letting it fall freely down her shoulders. She looked like a beautiful goddess, wearing a knee-length black night dress with her hair down like that. And the way her slender fingers combed her hair with her eyes closed while bobbing her head was another sight to behold. Does she know what she's doing right now? Is she trying to seduce me?The thought got me excited, and I leaned my back further into the chair, biting my lips as I watched her take slow strides toward me."Yes, I know how to please you," she repeated, but this time in a low tone.Wow, who knew this spooky concubine of mine could seduce me even without trying hard? I was already thinking about all the things I could do to her. Dirty things.I watched her as she walked past me to the bed, climbing onto it, before gesturing at me to come.Excitement filled me instantly and I quickly obliged, going to sit beside her on the bed. LIGHT'S POV"Light where have you been?" My eyes widened when Alister picked me up by my collar, his curious gaze roamed over my body and I stare blankly at him, not sure how to answer his question. Although he was asking where I was, his eyes were saying something else. It held both disbelief and question just like everyone else.I knew they were wondering how I survived after disappearing for two days. how did a human like me survive the dangerous forest? However, even I didn't have answers to those questions. I was just as mystified as them, with many questions running through my mind as I thought back to the scene back in the forest. Those wide wolves didn't hurt me, they just watched me walk by like some force was compelling them. And as for how I found my way back to the pack house, that was another mystery. I just found myself back at the house after walking for many hours. It was as though I already knew the routes, and finding my way wasn't hard even though, that

ALISTER'S POVIt's been two days and the tournament was almost over, however, there was still no sign of that light, after she ran out of the arena. Could something have happened to her? I stared at the particular spot in the arena, the spot where she was last seen, and no matter, how much I told myself, that I didn't care if she lived or died, there was still this feeling of restlessness that plagued me. And I knew it wasn't because of the bet I made with alpha Greg,No! It was much more than that. It was a kind of feeling that frightened me, a feeling considered a weakness and detrimental to someone like me.Could it be that Light cast some kind of spell on me?If not, why were my thoughts constantly invaded by such a spooky little human like her when it's only been a few weeks since I met her?Huh! How ironic! I laughed out loud at the thought, completely ignorant of both the people around me and the ongoing tournament."Alpha, are you okay?" Raven's voice echoed inside my

ALISTER'S POVMy eyes were focused on just one, among the hundreds of people that were participating in the tournament. You could easily spot her amongst the crowd because she was the smallest, most Eeriest, and timid looking among them. One would even wonder why someone like her was participating in the tournament, and just like most, if not all the audience at the arena were sure that she would be the first one to die, after all, she was human. However, one of the things I've learned was never to underestimate anyone."I bet my hundred dollars that miss spooky wouldn't survive this," Raven spouted his nonsense just like always. Smack...Mahira's hand landed on his head "Shut up Raven, Light is going to survive this you'd see."Humph... Raven scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Denial is a bitch, I bet you one thousand dollars that she wouldn't make it out alive.""And I bet all your savings that she would come out alive," Mahira countered.Their noise was beginning to annoy not

Nasty things," he thug a strand of hair behind my ears, whispering seductively.I could feel my heart beating hard and fast against my chest, however, I didn't back off. Rather, there was this newfound courage as I stare right into his eyes, biting my lips seductively."You're right, it's just the two of us. Nasty things could happen but can you handle it," I retorted in a whisper, before curving my lips into a mischievous smirk.Alister chuckled, staring at me in both amazement and some other emotion that I couldn't fathom. "If you play with fire Light, you are bound to get burnt. Stop playing with fire," he retorted, turning on his heels."Come, it's not safe out here alone," he quickly added without turning back. "Wait," I yelled, making him halt his movement. "What is it?" He swerved in my direction, staring keenly at me as he spoke."I want to walk in front of you, I can't walk behind while you'r

Alister looked taken aback, before turning to me with a dangerous glare. "What is she talking about? Do you intend to participate in the tournament?"I could tell he was angry by the tone of his voice and I remained mum for a while before altering a "Yes."Although Alister's face was unreadable, his overbearing aura exploded. Every trace of playfulness had vanished like it was never there."You will not participate in the tournament," his voice was calm yet stern as he spoke, leaving no room for argument, however, something in me could not accept that."Why?" My voice was loud as I spoke. "Is it because you all think humans are weak? Well then, that's the reason I have to participate in the tournament, to prove you wrong."I was angry because not just this Lucia girl, but Alister also underestimated me. I hated it when they did that.Slowly, Alister turned to face me again, still wearing the same expressionless look. "And do you know how dangerous the tournament is? You could lose y
