I lay still on the cold floor, crying after that brutal torture session from the two guards. Daphne's true identity had really rocked my world to the core.

She being the daughter of my father's slaves was something I never expected, and also me being the princess of the Shadowfang Clan was three times unexpected.

I felt betrayed by the people I called family, including my mum.

Couldn't she have told me the truth and let their daughter, Violetta live the life that was rightfully mine.
