The silence in the garden was extremely oppressive and I inhaled a stutter, wondering what my fate was going to be.

What the hell was I thinking to have opened my mouth to tell Bianca that I was Lycan? I barely knew her and this could blow out of proportion so easily.

I closed my eyes and sighed deeply through my nose, then took another deep breath to calm myself down. Her face was white as a sheet and she stared directly at me.

I could feel my heartbeat quickening when I met her intense gaze. She hadn't said anything yet and it was fucking uncomfortable. I swallowed hard and tried again to speak

“I’m… I'm sorry.”

She raised her hand to stop me. “Were you sent to destroy Chadwick?" she asked, voice choked with a fear I'd never expected to hear.

“What? Of course not. I swear on my mom's grave that I'm not with his father's group. And don't forget I said I am a Lycan and not a werewolf.”
