One Hundred and Ten

Maya was unsure about whether to commit to this course of action. She stood in front of the priestess's altar, with the candlelights bouncing on the walls.

The tenseness in her stomach refused to let go. The room was extremely small, and she felt like she was choking. At the center of the room was the altar, a wooden table covered with a velvety cloth, and on top of it were herbs and spices.

The pack priestess sat on a stool, staring at Maya with half-closed lids and an all-too-knowing smirk. Maya refused to look; instead, she kept her gaze fixed on the charts containing the depictions of the moon used to represent life and death cycles.

"Here you go," the priestess handed her a bowl containing a liquid substance. "Today, we're going to honor the spirits and ask them to show us guidance. You will be passing through four elements, and I will be here as your guardian."
