King Vincent’s eyes changed their color for a second before he could compose himself, the look of surprise on his face confused me.

Was he really thinking that I would give up my life just for a stranger?

The air crackled with tension as he spun on his heels sharply, leaving without uttering a single word. My parents’ startling gasps resounded in my ears, they both begged simultaneously.

“Please don’t leave, Your Majesty!”

But before their pleas could reach that King, he was gone. His assistant stopped my dad,

“Please don’t try to follow His Majesty. As Her Highness wishes to continue her studies, we’ll discuss this matter in the Court, and then inform you about the final decision.

Until then, take care of our Queen on our behalf.”
