Red POV
I walked behind the head maid and the other maids behind me as I followed them to the dining room. This is the first time I am meeting the Lycan King. I don’t know what he looks like, but I feel nervous. He is my king, after all, and I am about to deceive him. Will he figure my lies out? If he does, I am literally dead. Deceiving the king of werewolves, a Lycan, stronger and more powerful than us normal wolves. I would die a really painful death. I sighed, covering my head in nervousness. I didn’t even sleep well. I dreamt the king killed me, and I could no longer sleep. I have been paranoid all night; I just want to enter deep into the ground. They opened the door, and my breath got stuck in my throat as I entered the dining room.
There were four people, three men and a woman. They all sat down at the table, looking elegant. I looked down at my outfit. A black hoodie, short sweatpants, and black fluffy slippers. Is that why Priscilia looked at me that way this morning? How can I wear this to meet my king? I am so dead! I covered my hands with the hoodie’s wrist; they were sweaty. I followed behind Priscilia nervously, looking at the floor.
“Good morning, your majesties and lady Yasmine,” she greets, bowing her head, and I keep looking down, not saying a word. Oh, somebody kill me; run that sword down my throat.
“This is red,” she said, and I could see her gesturing at me. I kept my head down. What do I do? What should I say?
“She doesn’t talk,” a voice said. The voice was soft, almost like he was mocking me. Is that how his majesty sounds? No, that’s not possible. Besides, the voice is closer to me, so it’s probably the dude by my side.
“Lady Red,” Priscilla said. I laughed nervously.
“Good morning, your majesties,” I said, taking a short curt. It wasn’t elegant; it looked like I had back pain.
“Really? This is the infamous red. The one I heard so much about? She seems to me like a weakling,” the female voice said. How dare she talk to me that way! I looked up at her. She has beautiful, long blonde hair, a perfectly oval-shaped face, and beautiful plump lips painted in red lipstick. I couldn’t see her gown, but her bra cups were so tight, pushing her boobs out.
“Ever heard of not judging a book by its cover?” I asked, looking at her blankly. She growled, throwing rocks at me with her powers. I gripped the rocks in the air, burning them until nothing was left—not even dust. I just got here, and someone is already looking for my trouble. But at least I know what powers she controls; then I can know how powerful she is, but I can’t tell if she is Lycan or Wolf.
“I won’t tolerate any disrespect from a anybody like you,” she snapped, glaring at me. I sighed, not saying a word. I won’t let her disgrace me in front of his majesty.
“Yasmine,” a deep voice said. The world stopped; I couldn’t breathe. That wasn’t my name, but the voice sent shivers down my spine—so deep and sexy. I was melting.
“Thank you, Priscilla; please take your leave,” he said, and I turned my head to him slowly. Oh shit, he is so handsome. Slick back hairstyle, electric grey eyes, small pink plump lips, sharp jaws, and beautiful fair skin. What moisturiser is he using? His skin is so clear—not one blemish. He is so handsome and so pretty; I have never seen anyone so pretty. He smiled at me! He smiled at me!
“Please take your seat,” he said. Oh goodness, he is talking to me! My heart fluttered, and my insides danced with joy. This is what butterflies feel like?
“She is so stupid,” she said, and I looked away, bowing my head nervously.
“Yes, your majesty,” I said, sitting beside a man opposite another man.
“This is Felix, my brother, and this is Adam, the Beta King,” he introduced. I cleared my throat softly, deciding I had embarrassed myself enough.
“Nice to meet you, your majesties,” I said, smiling softly. They looked at me like I was crazy. What can I say? I am full of surprises.
“Let’s eat,” his majesty said. I waited for them to take their food and have their first bites. Then I dragged my hoodie arm up, taking my food like a lady would. I took the napkin, placed it on my lap, and poured myself a glass of water. I eat my food quietly, making use of my cutlery. I could feel eyes on me, but I pretended they were not here. I may not have other etiquettes but I have table etiquettes; my father trained me well for that.
I drank my water softly and continued with my food, which was pancakes and bacon. I took a lot of bacon because it’s nutritious for my wolf. I cleaned my mouth with the napkin, dropping it by the side of my plates, and I waited for them to be done. I looked at the paintings, beautiful paintings. I looked at a particular painting; it was a painting of a woman, and she has red hair. She looks awfully like me, but my hair is more red. Hers is like a tomato red, while mine is fiery red. I have not seen anybody with red hair except me, which means I must be really special.
“Can I see your hair?” the man in front asked. He is the king’s brother, Felix. I looked to see if others were still eating, and they were all done. I removed my hood, bringing my hair out. At least I brushed it today, so it’s straight and long.
“Wow, so beautiful,” he said, staring at it. I smiled. I know he wants to touch it.
“Thank you, your highness,” I said.
“She has dimples,” he said, looking at me, mesmerized. I stopped smiling, wondering why he was looking at me like that, like a snack.
“Don’t mind me, and Felix is okay,” he said. I nod my head after licking my lips. I packed my hair back, covering it with the hoodie. I don’t really like people looking at my hair; it’s the first thing they notice. When Alpha saw me, I was too scared to speak. He kept asking for my name, and I just gave him a blank look, so he named me Red, and since then the name has stuck. Nobody knows my real name; the people who know it are dead.
“Is Red your real name?” he asked.
“No,” I said.
“What is your real name?” he asked, curious.
“I’d rather not share it. Red is what everyone knows me as,” I said, and he looked surprised that I didn’t want to share it. Only my pack called me by my name, but they are dead anyway, so I’d rather not bring their memories back by allowing people to call me by my name.
“That’s enough. Now let’s discuss the issue with the night hunter,” his majesty said. I sat up straight, listening to him.
“What do you know about him?” he asked. They keep referring to me as him; the hunter can be anybody, but at least that would keep me out of the spotlight.
“Not much, your majesty; I know he attacks the academy, and that is all I know,” I said.
“What makes you special? What makes you powerful? Why does everyone fear Red? And why does Alpha’s request your help?” he asked. I bit my lips; that’s a lot of questions.
“I helped my alpha with a war; I killed many; I guess that is why, your majesty,” I said.
“I heard you killed rogues who attacked your pack when you were 18 years old; you burned them all down. Is that true?” he asked. Damn that old man for spreading that news.
“Yes, your majesty,” I replied.
“Now, tell me why you did that,” he said. I remembered that day, never being more angry.
“It was anger, your majesty,” I said, looking at the wall. He hummed.
“Tell me, what could make an 18-year-old have so much anger?” he said. I looked at him for a split second; his face was blank; I couldn’t read him. I don’t know if he is genuinely curious or if he wants to know how powerful I am.
“A past lover of mine left me for another,” I said, keeping it short. Felix burst out in laughter, and Yasmine laughed with him. I looked at both of them as they laughed.
“You got mad over that?” he asked, looking at me like I was stupid. I looked at him deep in his eyes, my face blank. He stopped laughing, looking at me. I could feel him getting intimidated; he couldn’t stay still; he started sweating.
“Why don’t we have this talk in my study, Red?” his majesty said, and I looked at him but quickly looked away.
“Yes, your majesty,” I said. He nods his head, standing up. I stood up, glared at him harshly, and he flinched a bit. I followed behind his majesty, rolling my eyes. Stupid, stupid brother of the king. I am sure I am already in their bad books. I sighed. Oh moon goddess help me.
Red POVI walked behind the king, my eyes on his buttocks. Damn, he has a nice butt, hard and round; I wanted to grasp it. How can a man have such a nice butt? Oh goodness, me.“Ouch,” I groaned as I collided into his back. He turned around, and I bit my lips in nervousness. He had stopped walking, and I didn’t notice because I was staring at his buttocks. He looked down at me, and I chuckled nervously, moving on my toes. He shook his head.“We are here,” he said, and the guards opened the door.“No more messing up,” I whispered, and I followed him into the study. I looked around, and this place was so warm; it smells like lavender. There was a stack of books and files on the left, and in the middle of the room is a L-shaped office table with two chairs in front of it. There is a fine couch and centre table in the other corner of the room, along with a bar filled with surely very expensive wines. I gasped slowly as I saw the wine. Is that pure wine? The most expensive wine known to we
Red POVI walked down the hallways, heading to the dining room. Well, it was the next day, and yesterday I spent it shopping and getting to know Adrain. He is a funny person and march my energy, and he is just a wolf like me. He was really a breath of fresh air. The guards standing in front of the dining-room door gasped, staring at me. I smirked, clearing my throat, and they opened the door for me.“Thank you, gentlemen,” I said, entering the room. My heels clicked the floor as I walked in. Yasmine, Felix, and Adam turned their heads, and their eyes widened in shock. Well, I am wearing a white gown. The gown is long and a body hug, hugging all the beautiful curves I hide under my baggy clothes. The gown is armless, and what I love about the gown is that it’s transparent. The clothes inside are reaching my mild thighs, not too far from my ass. This gown is beautiful; I am looking sexy without showing much skin, compared to little Miss Yasmine, whose breasts are all out in the open. I
Red POV“Wow!” I exclaimed, looking at what was in front of me. It was a rope, 10 feet from the floor. Under the rope is a hot, burning fire, and above the rope is another rope to hold on to. All I have to do is pass the rope. That seems easy, right? Except it isn’t. Huge rocks are flying randomly, and I only have the rope to hold on to; if not, it would knock me down into the fire. Adrian was right; it’s not as easy as it seems; this is a death sentence.“There are rocks under the fire,” Aurora said. I looked at it well, and she was right—hot, burning rocks. I cleaned my sweaty hands; the fire is already making me sweat. Oh, now I get it. If my hand is sweaty, it would make me have a loose grip on the rope, falling me to doom. I looked at the field, and of course they were all staring at me, including the king. Adrian looked worried while everyone smirked at me. I rolled my eyes at them, standing up. I hold the rope, putting my toes on the other rope. I walked slowly on the rope, and
Red POVI smiled, limping to the dining room. It was the next day, and I felt much better. Aurora couldn’t heal me, as she was a bit weak herself. The silver knives weakened her, so we are both healing. I have a few cuts in my body, and they are taking their precious time to heal, but I don’t mind; what I mind is my knee. Priscilla put a cast on my leg because I can’t walk, and it’s annoying.“My lady, I already told his majesty that you won’t make it to the dining room; please let’s go back to the room,” Priscilla said, running after me. I smiled. I have been looking forward to this morning since he left my room, and I am not missing it for anything, not even for my knee.“I’m fine, Priscilla; I’ll see you later,” I said, not looking back at all. She sighed, mumbling, and the guards opened the doors for me. I smiled widely, limping towards them.“Good morning!” I yelled, smiling widely. They turned to me, looking at me like I was crazy.“What a beautiful morning, isn’t it your majest
Red POVIt’s been 3 days, and I have been in my room but haven’t stepped out once. I have been rethinking all the nonsense I did, and let’s just say I am ashamed of myself. I let myself lose control of my actions and acted like a child in a candy shop. I wanted to forever die in my room, but today his majesty asked for me, so I breathed out, standing in front of his study. I knocked on it softly.“Come in,” he said. My body shook hearing his voice, but before I got too excited, I tuned it down, breathing in. I opened the door and entered.“Good morning, your majesty,” I greeted as he sat behind his desk.“Seat,” he said. I nodded my head and took my seat in the chair.“I hope you’ve recovered fine,” he said. I looked away from his face.“Yes, your majesty,” I answered politely.“Good, we start our mission today. We are taking a trip to the academy; is there any question you would like to ask before we start our trip?” he asked. I thought about it.“Yes, your majesty,” I said.“Okay, a
Red POVI looked around the academy. I have never been here during the day, and it’s actually beautiful. Beautiful buildings, rogues walking everywhere, all smiles. I looked at them; they all seemed so happy but attacked innocent packs, killing every single one of them. Don’t they feel pity? They were all rescued too, after their packs were raided. Or were they forced to do it to those innocent packs? I definitely didn’t think of all this; when I got that list, I swung into action and killed everyone whose name was on the list. I am not even done, but I don’t think I want to continue; it would only land me in more trouble.“Your majesty,” a warrior said, coming to us.“Rodney,” he said, acknowledging him.“I’m happy you are here; it’s been a long time,” he said, and they shared a hug. I looked at them. Is he perhaps the leader of this place, or are they just close?“Felix,” he said, hugging him, and I watched them embrace with smiles on their faces.“Lady Yasmine, beautiful as ever,”
Red POVI looked away, brushing my hair. I felt like crying; standing here made my chest hurt. I am in love with a man who would never love me back. I shouldn’t have come to this place; it was a bad idea.“Are you okay?” he asked. I sighed.“Why did you bring me here, your majesty?” I asked.“You seem sad; I’m trying to cheer you up,” he said. I looked at him.“I don’t think his majesty does this for anybody,” I said. He nods his head.“Yes, you are right. I couldn't care less if anyone except my brother and my assistant is sad,” he said. That reminds me, I haven’t even met his assistant; she must mean so much to him.“So why me?” I asked. He smiled, looking at me.“You remind me of someone,” he said, and I could see the pain in his eyes. Is what Adrain says all true?“Who?” I asked. He gave me a long look, then looked away.“Someone I used to love,” he said. Used? I thought he still loved her, which is why he doesn’t want to move on.“Who was she to you?” I asked.“She was a lot of t
Red POVI walked to the conference room with Adrian. Today is the day we will be starting an investigation. Now that I am dealing with Lycans who are significantly older than me, how am I going to fool them? I sighed, entering the conference room after Adrain; they were all here as usual. Yasmine sits beside him, glaring at me as I walk in. Well, yesterday we were talking, then she came and started questioning his majesty about why he was with me. Long story short, I left them on the roof without saying a word. I avoid eyes with his majesty; I don’t want to remember our discussion yesterday.“Good morning, your majesty,” I greet, taking my seat. Yasmine scoffed, and I still continue ignoring her.“Good morning, Red, just the person we are waiting for,” Rodney said, and I noticed Felix wasn’t here.“Why is Felix not here?” I asked Adrain.“He doesn’t want to partake in the night hunter search, so we are doing this without him,” Rodney said, and I nodded my head.“Okay, so as you know,
Estelle POVA shrill cry from my pup rang in the ward, and I breathed a sigh of relief, slumping on the bed.“It’s a boy!” Aunt Clara exclaimed, carrying him up. I looked at the boy with a head filled with black hair as he cried out loudly. “Bring him,” I said with a hoarse voice. Tears were running down my face as I sat up weakly. I have been in labour since the previous morning, and now it’s the next day and in the evening. The labour was extremely long; I was in serious pain, and the doctors were confused as the pup wasn’t coming out. Aurelian was chased out because he started panicking and screaming at the doctors, and he and his aunt had to take control of everything. After those long, painful hours, I felt happy as I finally settled into my arms.“It was worth it,” I cried, rubbing his head. He squirmed around in my arms, his eyes closed. Aunt Clara covered him up, and his cries gradually decreased. I smiled at his chubby cheeks and patiently waited for him to open his eyes.He
Aurelian POVWe stopped in front of a cave, and I kept standing here.“We have been riding for too long; what is going on?” Felix asked. I smiled.“I am waiting for Estelle to direct us,” I said.“Estelle, I thought you said you were going to keep her safe?” Aunt Clara asked.“Yes, but she can’t lie to me. I know she would be up to something; Estelle can’t just stay out of everything,” I said, coming down from the horse. I walked to the cave, and I felt the energy again—very dark energy.“The energy is dark,” Aunt Clara said. I nod my head.“This is where he is hiding,” I said.“We don’t have any witches to help us break it,” Rodney said. I smiled.“We wait for Estelle,” I said. I was worried about her, but on our journey here, I realised I shouldn’t have wanted to lock her up. I can’t shield her from this war; it is all about her and what Aurora has passed on to her. I was worried about our pup and her. I don’t want anything to happen to them, but I am happy she wants to do this as a
Third-person POVEstelle and Queen Aurora got to the front of the cave, and they stood there. Ophelia was still finding it hard to find Estelle; she had grown more worried and unsettled as the feeling increased. Kion has spent his time with his daughter, Maven, who has no idea what is happening around her. “Where is Aurelian?” Estelle whispered to Zira, who was on her horse beside her.“They are 30 minutes away from the second entrance; why did you make us stand here?” she asked. “I want him there earlier,” she answered, looking at the entrance. Just exactly how it was, but she could feel the energy coming from it; this is what Aurelian must have felt to know something was blocking him off.“Break it,” she said to Zira. Zira climbed down from her horse and walked to the entrance. Breeze blew them harshly as Zira brought her hand out to suck in the energy.“Wait,” Queen Aurora said from her horse coming down. Zira turned to her, confused.“There is dark energy sealing the spell; stan
Third-person POVHorses rode roughly as Aurelian led his troupe. His warriors and generals all follow behind him. The ground shook, and the branches on the trees all moved violently as the horses and sturdy legs collided with the soil. The smaller packs, aware of what was happening, stayed in their packs nervously as the king and his men passed. Everyone was nervous; families prayed to the moon goddess for their sons following the king’s army. It was finally time for war, which would determine a lot for the wolves and the world.“It’s nice to see you again, Queen Estelle.” Meanwhile, in another place stood Estelle and her troupe of warriors, which she arranged without her mate knowing. A black robe wrapped around her neck, her hair blowing gracefully behind her. She was dressed in a black jumpsuit with armour covering her arms, chest, and legs. They all can’t deny how strong her aura is; even Queen Aurora could feel it. Well, the night was dangerous, and Estelle wasn’t holding back he
Estelle POV“Everything is set; we move tomorrow night,” Aurelian said as we lay on the bed. “I thought you didn’t want me to know?” I asked. He breathed out.“Well, I don’t want you to know to protect you and our pup. Tomorrow you and Zira will be in the secret bunker; you two seem close these days, and she is a witch,” he said. I breathed out again. Well, it’s been a month, and Aurelian and his men found a loop for Kion, but it’s not really a loop. It’s a fake loop, Zira, and I put in to make them go to another place. We have set our motion in motion, and Aurelian doesn’t have any idea what I am doing. I just hope we come out victorious and everyone is safe. The past one month has been very hectic. I was bust just the same way Aurelian was busy, but he doesn’t know. It was hard doing some things without him knowing; I had to threaten a few people. I just hope everything really goes according to plan.“Can Zira break the man’s cave from inside? Just you know I aunt Clara can get to
Estelle POVI looked at the men training; they were training hard, their bodies drenched in sweat.“The king is not backing down; he is training these warriors hard,” Zira said, sitting beside me. I nod my head. I am actually surprised, but I shouldn’t be. He is the Lycan king and has been one for years; he has been to many battles and has won; this wasn’t his first time.“Nothing from Kion?” she asked, whispering very low. I shook my head. “I am a bit worried,” I said, smacking my lips. It has been 2 weeks, and I haven’t heard anything from him. Aurelian has refused to include me in anything concerning the war, but Adrain updates me. They have no idea where he is; they are trying to track him but always end up blocked. I know it’s because the beach is hidden, but I feel proud. They know Kion is near, but something is restricting them.Aurelian is really a great king, smart, calculative, and powerful. The best king the wolves could ever have. But I really don’t want this war. I feel
Estelle POVZira and I stood together as we watched Kion sleeping on the bed, comfortably and naked.“He is causing ruckus out there, but here he is sleeping like he is dreaming of angels,” I smeared, shaking my head in disappointment. Zira giggled.“The Lycan royalty are such a fine specimen; he looks like a god with that face and toned body,” Zira said dreamily. I don’t blame her; the three brothers are handsome with unique features; if only they were all on the same side, they would have been unstoppable. I sighed, twirling my hand, and Kion jumped up in shock as the steamy water hit his skin. He was about to yell out in anger, but I used my powers to seal his lips. He looked in our direction, and his eyes widen in shock and slight anger.“We won’t want to alert the guards outside,” I said, smiling. He growled.“What are you doing here, and how did you get here?” he snapped.“Well, I got here with the help of my friend here,” I said, gesturing at Zira.“Hi,” she said, waving. He gl
Estelle POVI walked down the hallway, looking for Felix. It’s been two weeks, and everything has been calm. I have been eating a lot, and I am slowly gaining weight. Aurelian has been busy; he is still on the edge, but it has reduced. He can’t be with me the whole day, but he checks up on me from time to time. I am tired of sitting around, so I am looking for Zira, but I have no idea where she is, and Felix’s mind link is blocked.“You are the queen and more powerful than him; break into his mind link,” Aurora said, rolling her eyes at me. Now, why didn’t I think of that? I stopped walking, focusing on Felix. His mind link was blocked, but I forced my way in.“Felix!” I screamed into his mind. I giggle, literally feeling him jump in fear.“What the fuck!” he screamed back at me. I rolled my eyes at him.“Where is Zira?” I asked. But he blocked me back. How dare he?“Felix!” I yelled, crossing my arms.“For fuck’s sake, Estelle!” he yelled.“Where is Zira? I need her,” I said.“Zira i
Estelle POVI slowly opened my eyes, and I was not in my room. Instead, I was in a field. Okay, seriously, I am tired of seeing this field, all familiar but at the same time different.“I’m sorry to bring you here, Queen Estelle,” the familiar voice said. I turned around, and Queen Aurora stood there, looking at me. I didn’t know if I should be angry or calm, so I looked at her without saying anything.“I know you have all the right to be angry with me, but I need to talk to you,” she said. “Why?” I asked. She breathed out.“I knew the Lycan King wouldn’t have listened to me if I had told him the dangers of what I was about to do,” she said.“So you decided to put your kingdom at risk?” I asked. She smiled.“I don’t mind if the king wants to go to war with us; we would fight back, but first let Kion be out of the way,” she said. I smiled.“You are awfully brave, Queen Aurora,” I said. “We are not as weak, Queen Estelle,” she said formally.“Why have you brought me here?” I asked. “
