Chapter 28: Vegas Or Bust

When I hear the engines begin to fire, I feel the plane tremble under my feet as it jolts forward from the instantaneous combustion of the fuel. Fearing for my life, I dig my nails into Brandon’s knee as I stare out the window at the surrounding area. I can already tell that this is going to be one hell of a ride because we have not even lifted off the ground yet.

Swallowing hard, I cough when the flight attendant asks with a knowing smile on her lips, “Are you comfortable? Even though this will not be terribly long, it does seem to feel like it sometimes. Especially, when it is your first time flying.”

Nodding, I barely hear a word she says as I stare out the window and begin to pray. Watching as the plane begins to move and then turn on the runway, I say loudly, “Yes, I have changed my mind. I can’t do this.” While turning to look at Brandon.
