Part 88 # Grandmother is Gone!

The following day, the sunlight slowly penetrated Arren's wide-open window. Its warmth gently greeted her peacefully sleeping face. Arren had spent the night in tranquility after the care provided by the doctor the previous evening.

Beside her bed, Clark sat, asleep but alert, as if he had stayed awake all night just for Arren. Clark suddenly opened his eyes when the sunlight began to shine on his face. His eyes immediately searched for Arren, who was only three steps ahead.

With great care, he ensured that the girl was okay. "Thank goodness," he murmured in relief. Before long, Arren started waking up, stretching slowly before opening her eyes. When her gaze refocused, she saw the familiar face.

"Clark..." she murmured, smiling weakly.

He warmly smiled in response. "Good morning, Arren. How are you feeling?"

Arren nodded slowly, leaning on the pillow behind her. "I feel much better now. Thank you, Clark."

Clark felt relieved to hear that. "No need to thank me. I just did what I had to
