Kirsch's POV
There WAS a rogue who left the herd first. I could feel the rogue running away, but I didn't know who that was. No wonder that rogue stayed inside the pack if that was Natasha. She had family in the pack that would take her in.
"She ought to know what's coming to her if she stays." I frowned, couldn't help but remembered that it was Natasha who put Willa in a coma for a whole week. How dare she return to the pack again?!
"Haven't you been listening to me?!" Willa grunted impatiently, "She's Taran's mate! You can't hurt her!"
"She's NOT his mate. I told you, I asked her with Alpha Aura--"
"Cerberus didn't know back then!" Willa sighed with a grunt in frustration. I finally understood why Taran said I might have to "persuade Willa to stay". Of course she wanted to leave the pack when Taran told her Natasha was his real mate.
How did he think this would play out?!
"You don't know that until you turned 18 yourself, Wil
They found out granny's lies too late :P
Kirsch's POV"Willa, are you okay?" I asked, watching Willa poking her pizza for about five minutes now already."Yes, I'm okay," Willa answered, still poking that piece of pastry.Like she did five minutes ago.Scarlett moved back to the house I granted them after the doctor assured her Willa had shown no sign of any sequela. I changed our menu to ordering out so Willa wouldn't have to suffer my cooking while missing Taran.I could tell she was heartbroken, but she wouldn't confide that, not to me at least."Little kitten, I'm pretty sure that pizza is dead now. But I can taste it for you if you are worried." I let Rudy come out and the stupid wolf started with a cold joke.Willa chuckled.Well, at least Rudy still had his magic."How's Natasha doing?" Willa put down her fork. That meant she was done with her meal...again. She hadn't been eating much, for days now. I had no idea how she was surviving with so little food
Willa's POVI had been painting Soulstorm for the past few days.Kirsch offered -- well, insisted that I stay in the pack even after Natasha came back. I knew he offered that out of kindness, but the actual reason was -- I didn't want to watch her being together with Taran.I couldn't.It hurt enough to just mention her name. I would die if I had to be around them just to see Taran smile at her, hug her and spoil her...Like how he was with me.Leaving was the only way I could get on with my life. But I couldn't do that just yet because Taran hadn't come back. I didn't know how he was doing, and I didn't dare ask. But with Cerberus mad at me, I doubted if there was too much I could do anyways. All I could do was make some Soulstorms before I leave. There was no hope to keep a peaceful mood to design any new patterns, and I had just been painting the same pattern over and over again, trying to not think about Taran, or actually,
Willa's POV"Mindlink him!" I grabbed Kirsch's arm, shaking him when he froze where he was, stunned, "Kirsch!"He rose a finger at me -- he was still listening to the phone. I waited nervously but it didn't take long before he suddenly turned and shouted at his phone--"He's my fucking Alpha, you ass hole! You dare do that, then you take on the whole Gemini Crescent as your fucking enemy!"What were they gonna do to Taran?!"Damn it!" Kirsch hung up furiously and his eyes glazed--He was trying to mindlink, and apparently, it was an effort in vain."Tell me what happened?!" I shook him in haste."That was The Treaty's secretary general, Bowell. Someone spotted a huge silver rogue having a killing spree over the mountain." Kirsch combed his hair in frustration. For the first time, I saw real fear in his eyes. For so long I had been thinking I was Taran's mate and then I got to know that Natasha was, but rarely did I ever think t
Willa's POV"So if you give me a tattoo of that spell, I can use it while in my wolf form?" Kirsch asked.Tattoos won't disappear when we shift. Though it would be covered under our fur, the ink was in our skin."Yes...but then you still have to have my blood with you to use it. You need to activate the spell when the magic burns out." I hesitated."Give me the tattoo first and we will think about something." Kirsch held out his arm.Thank Goddess I didn't return the tattoo pen to granny. We went downstairs and I started painting on his forearm the design I just painted on the parchment."I felt sea when I touched the parchment you left on the sofa the other day." Kirsch suddenly said when I was giving him the tattoo. It made sense. Cerberus felt it as well. There was my blood on both the gift I gave Taran and the paper I left the other day.I dodged Kirsch's eyes in silence because I didn't want to think what that meant
Willa's POVDays passed. Life was quiet in a bizarre way -- like the silence before a thunderstorm.I had been mindlink Kirsch from time to time. Mostly during the night when he would allow himself to rest a little and hunt. He needed the energy if he wanted to last till he could find Cerberus.Apparently, Cerberus had been running without any specific direction, though Kirsch had been running in a straight line because he was that far away. What was to our relief was that Cerberus's general direction was the pack, meaning he was helping on reducing that distance.[Little kitten.] All of a sudden, Kirsch mindlinked me. It was the first time he mind linked me during the day.[What's wrong?! Are you alright?] I put it through right away.[I'm fine-- why aren't you at the Alpha's house?! Why -- Are you at school?!] Kirsch exclaimed in surprise.[Well, long store. Tell me what's going on!] I urged as I glanced around nervously, worrying t
Willa's POVRachel hadn't spoken to me since Natasha chased her away. The last two days before the new moon was so peaceful that it felt somewhat surreal. But I knew better than to think everything was okay--Rachel had been staring at me viciously wherever I went in school as if it was her day job to make sure I saw her vicious eyes everywhere, reminding me that I wasn't welcome.I felt like she was up to something.Natasha on the other hand, suddenly became my new "guardian angel". She had been seen around me even more than Rachel, smiling at me, patting me on the head, and even talking to me like we were old friends.People stared every time this kind of "miracle" happened."What was that all about?!" Scarlett sneaked closer to me after Natasha patted me on the head with a smile."Behaving like the new Luna? I guess responsibility does change a person." I shrugged. Deep down in my mind, I didn't believe myself, but I didn't
Willa's POVAll four of us stared at the door. It was the school guard, checking classrooms after the school hour.Thank goddess!"Sir--" I stepped up, but Rachel cut me off right away--"Morgan." Rachel nodded at the man in a condescending tone, queen-like, "We need the room for a few minutes tops. You will allow me a little game, won't you?""I'm not playing!" I ran to the guard Morgan, "Please! I just want to go home!""I thought you said you want to poison me?" Rachel smirked. What?!The guard squinted his eyes at me with a suspicious look."That's not what's happening--""Morgan, she just tried to force me to drink this!" Rachel rose her hand and showed Morgan the vial in her hand. I watched her lie with my mouth wide open --I was good at lying, but I wasn't THAT good!"That's not my vial! I have nothing to do with this!" I turned to Morgan, appealing."Let me see." Morgan took the vial,
Scarlett's POVI didn't trust Natasha.I had no idea why the Alpha would ever allow Natasha back into the pack after what she did, but I wouldn't keep on doubting her if she wasn't acting all nice to me and Willa. Every time she saw Willa she would go up with a huge smile and pat Willa on the head even, like a poisonous snake. Her action felt staged, but I didn't know who was the targeted audience. The Alpha?Me?The pack? The only thing I knew, was that something evil was building behind my eyes, and I hated that feeling.I wanted to keep close to Willa, and conveniently, the Alpha had to leave the pack so he asked me to come over and live with Willa until he gets back. I was so happy to spend some time with Willa like before, but the moment I saw Willa, I knew something was changed."Granny. Thanks for coming." Willa said that on the stairs when I arrived before she went hiding in her room for the rest of the night. It
