Taran's POV
I wasn't going to leave her when I knew Willa was in danger.
Though I WAS shocked that Willa saw through my plan.
"I thought you..." Willa murmured in confusion, but then she asked me: "You were leaving the pack anyways, no? Even before today's incident?"
Oops...That was when I thought the Treaty would be after me.
"Guess we both have secrets that we couldn't tell." I sighed with a bitter smile.
"Whatever the reason, you need to leave. Give me a minute." Willa stuffed the parchments in my arms. Her eyes glazed. She was mind linking someone. Her granny?
She looked shocked and confused before she cut the mind link.
"Well, I don't know what I can do with the wolfsbane for now..." Willa frowned in frustration, "Do you think you can move?"
"I can't, I'm in pain." I grinned at her. It was a good excuse to not leave, for now.
"I know..." Wille almost burst into tears as she cupped my face as if that could ease the pain. I suddenly regretted using it as an excuse to see her so worried for me.
"It's not that bad actually." I comforted her. But it was to little use. She looked as if she had experienced the pain herself, which was impossible because--
Wolfsbane only works on our wolves. Wolfless ones couldn't be drugged with wolfsbane.
"Why would you have an antidote to wolfsbane?" I suddenly realized the problem. I met her granny only twice. She seemed a normal wolf to me. But now I realized I was wrong. There were so many secrets with that woman.
Willa's eyes opened wide in shock with a horrified look.
Guess that was one of her secrets.
"It's okay, you don't have to tell me." I took a deep breath to suppress the pain as I tried to comfort her.
Tears brimmed her eyes again.
"I'm sorry!" I picked Willa up and put her in my lap. It physically hurt to see her cry, "I won't ask. And I won't tell anyone about your magic, I promise!"
Willa looked like she really wanted to tell me, but she couldn't for some reason. I knew what that feels like, I had been hiding my curse from the world since forever.
"It's okay, your secret is safe with me." I kissed her on her hair, "Besides, you already know mine. If you tell anyone that I'm the mad rogue, then I will be hunted down."
"I won't!" Willa wiped her tears as she protested.
"I know." I chuckled at her pout, wiping her tears softly for her, "So you know yours is safe with me, right?"
"I really want to tell you..." Willa sighed, her watery eyes fixed on me. It melted my heart.
"I know, and I'm grateful for the trust you put in me." I nodded, speaking as soft as I could, "But we keep secrets for a reason, and I understand."
"My secret doesn't hurt anyone, I swear!" Willa looked into my eyes as she said her little oath.
"Then you can keep it, for now." I took the hand she stood for the oath and pressed my lips on her fingers, "Maybe one day you can let me know."
"In two months! I can tell you on my 18th birthday," Willa nodded quickly, "That's also when you would tell me why you had to take cold showers in the morning, right?"
Her innocent look was so delicious.
"Deal." I nodded, shaking the parchment rolls she gave me, "So, you were telling me what they are?"
"Ohh, yes. It's for your headache." Willa nodded as she opened one roll to show me, "This is a spell called Soulstorm. I used it on you when you blacked out."
I was shocked speechless.
"I didn't dare take you to a hospital, and I didn't know what to do." Willa explained as she stared at my face with a scared look as if worried that I might get angry at her, "I think it's a mind spell. You woke up right away. It's purely for healing!"
"I trust you." I nodded, still shocked. I thought I woke up by myself! I felt so much better when I woke up. I WAS surprised how calm Crebreus was.
"You can use it when your head hurts." Willa rolled it up again, "Obviously you need to use it before you blacked out though. Just tore it and let the light shine on you."
I burst into laughter.
"I can make you more so you will have spares." Willa kept on, "This spell requires only blood media, so--"
"Blood media?" I asked.
"Oops," Willa made a face, realizing I had no idea how magic works, "So, I don't have magic, only granny has, but I can use some spell if I have her blood. Because she has magic in her, so her blood can be used as blood media, and I can use those spells even though I don't have magic myself."
"I see. Maybe that's how her magic can be taken." I frowned in deep thoughts, "I imagine some people would be interested in your granny's blood."
"Maybe...My ring has a special summon spell though. I can use it just with my blood." Willa showed me her ring. There was a complicated engraving on the inside of the ring, "Granny designed a spell especially for me in case I got into trouble."
"But your blood doesn't have magic in it," I asked Willa.
"No...It's a special spell. Granny wouldn't tell me how to do it." Willa sighed, "I wish I can make you one so you can carry a ring of Soulstorm with you, but I can't make your blood work. Ohh! Maybe I can give you a vial of my blood and you can use MY ring! I'll just get granny to make me a new one!"
"That's very thoughtful of you." I chuckled, shaking my head, "But I'm not leaving you until you are safe."
"You have to. I bring misfortune around me." Willa darted her eyes elsewhere as she tried to sit up, "I think it would be best if I'm far away from you."
I blinked in shock as I pulled her back into my arms, stopping her from leaving.
Wasn't that supposed to be my line?! I was still struggling on how to tell her the same thing, and she just blurted it out like it was the weather?!
"I'm not leaving--" I started, but Willa suddenly burst out--
"I thought I killed you!" Willa bit her lips as tears poured out her eyes, "Can you even imagine how that felt like?!"
No one could understand that more than me.
Willa burst into tears.
"They told me you were dead! They only tried to kill you because of me! And to think that I took you away from your mate just because I drugged Liam was the most horrible feeling I had ever had! I could never--"
"I don't have a mate."
(Author's note: Finally I got Taran to tell Willa about his mark!!! Willa is not the sitting back type once this taboo is off!)
Kirsch's POVI really thought Stone would make at least SOME suspicous move when he comes over, but he didn't.All he did, he did right in front of my eyes, at his invitation. I knew he was trying to gaining my trust by asking me to participate in everything, but something felt off, and I couldn't quite pin it.The most frustrating part was, I couldn't catch him with anything when it felt like it was right in front of my eyes."Ready for our date, Alpha Kirsch?" Stone was still in his human form when I came out in my wolf form. He would try to stay as long as he could in his human form whenever he was over in the pack, and I talked about that with Rudy, we both agreed that Stone was trying to lower our guard by showing up harmless, which was the most dangerous disguise.I wasn't falling for that. And the most annoying part, was his constant effort on starting a conversation."I proposed that we go North today because of the recent event." Stone walked by my side and Rudy started runni
Taran's POVDays passed, but everything seemed fine.Kirsch kept a regular daily report, but mostly about how Stone sent over people for some non-important spots on patrol, and Kirsch has sent men over, too. Every time Stone came over to our pack, he would inform Kirsch, and do a regular patrol together with Kirsch. As much as Kirsch hated it, it was better that Stone was kept under his nose.I know I'm not imagining it that Willa, or should I say, Nox, had been less happy ever since Kirsch left. Though I kept her company -- or rather -- she wouldn't let me go anywhere without her attached on my waist, there was always this gloomy cloud in her eyes that no amount of ice cream could chase away.Yep, ice cream.Lived a thousand lives in misery, ice cream has become the dark goddess's one solace that she can face without guilt.I feel like she felt guilty toward me, and I don't know why.All I knew was, I was able to get the magic about draining one's blood out of her that day, and even
Kirsch's POVIt wasn't like Stone would make his move right there at the Treaty.Taran and Willa hurried back in a couple of hours, at which time Stone already left the Treaty."So we have the time all to ourselves now?!" Willa cheered, bouncing on the bed at that news, "Great!"Leaning on the door frame, Taran shot Willa a weird look hearing that, but he didn't put in a comment."It can't be good that Stone chose to work with me," I frowned in deep thought. There is a mountain between our packs, and now we have to share the patrol duty, we have to exchange people, "I'll head back first. You guys can stay here and enjoy the vacation."I don't know how to trust anyone Stone might send."We need to stay together," Taran suddenly said, his eyes on the floor with his arms folded in front of him, "we don't know what Stone is up to, but if there is anything he desires from us, it's within the three of us.""But I don't want to go yet..." Willa pouted, begging Taran, "Please, please? I have
Kirsch's POV"So you are telling me, he's actually part of the Treaty now?!" I turned to Powell with disbelief. The first thing I saw after I went into the meeting room, I couldn't believe --It was Stone, sitting in the second chair to the chairman of the Treaty. And something was different about him -- something besides the fact that he got a whole new arm.Turning his ring in a leisurely way, Stone smirked without looking at me: "I never knew the Treaty treats Alphas so poorly.""Stone Hayes is our new thirteenth Alpha," Powell turned to me with a sullen look, "pay some due respect, Kirsch."I frowned at Powell: "Well, you have changed! What got into you?"Not that I expected Powell to support me for our history's sake, but he had always been disapproval of Stone before this -- well, before the Treaty suddenly turned on Taran.[Don't push them too far,] Taran's voice suddenly rose in my head -- Rudy mindlinked him when we saw Stone there in the room, [I'm afraid Powell is no longer
Kirsch's POVI wanted to stay on the sofa -- actually, I wanted to die on the sofa. There was nothing that could ever lure me more than sex with both of my mates.Taran pulled out first. He handed the drunk, melted kitten over to me with a soft voice: "Take her to bed, will you? I'll go fetch some clean towels."Willa let out a protesting whimper when Taran was no longer inside her, but there was zero energy left in her to do anything more than that.I pulled her close, supporting her body with my hands under her thighs as I walked over to the bed."Owww..." Willa moaned faintly with a mild smile, liking the little tingles my cock spread inside her with the movement."Greedy little kitten," I mumbled with a chuckle, leaving kisses on her lips and chin and neck after I put her onto the bed before I pulled out slowly. She dragged me on my shoulder and pulled me into bed with her before she snuggled into my arms and closed her eyes with a naughty smile."I REALLY have to attend the meeti
Kirsch's POV I didn't even know when Taran stopped, just so he wouldn't distract her, but I surely felt it when he started again-- Without even giving her time to answer Rudy, Taran rammed into her, making her gasp in the sudden pleasure, and she took our lips into a firey kiss as she moved over our tip. Rudy let go of her hand and gave me control. [What was that--] I started, struggling between the waves of tingles spreading over my body. [You have a more urgent problem at hand,] Rudy nudged me with a grin, [make her happy or I will!] I believe I stopped paying attention to him halfway through his nagging. Taran let go of Willa, leaving her firm breasts pressed against me, and I felt like they were two balls of fire, burning my skin in the most amazing way. He had one leg knelt on the sofa and bent down with her, helping her sit down on me and getting my cock all the way into her to the deepest. The huge pleasure took away my breath. Willa let out a little whimper with her le
