Teagan's POV

It was the claiming ceremony day, our claiming ceremony day. It would be best described as her claiming ceremony because she was the one claiming me. I didn't want her but the Moon Goddess had chosen her as my mate.

My mate was no other one than the destructive Lorenzo Nolan. She possessed this power that made men tremble in front of her. Though she loved me and she was always fighting for my love no matter what she did, I would never reciprocate her love.

I was the mighty Teagan Finn, handsome, wealthy, and the only son of the strongest Alpha Kai. My status as the future Alpha was already sealed. It was undoubted, certain, and irreversible. I was the only guy on this island that all the girls were swooning over.

The already mated ones also wanted to have a taste of me. How possible is it that despite how eligible I was, as a bachelor, I would be mated to the scariest woman on the island?

Honestly, I couldn't deny her beauty but I wanted a woman I could control, one that I could trample over the way I wanted while I would be sure that she would never try to fight back. Lorenzo was not that woman.

I would have called off this ceremony and rejected her but my reasons were shameful. How could I reject a mate because she was too strong for me to handle? That would send a wrong message about the future Alpha of the pack. I would be perceived as weak or someone struggling with low self-esteem.

I dashed out of the mansion into the yard that was already filled with guests from far and near. Many were there just because they wanted Alpha Kai's benevolence. There were also dignitaries, I couldn't disgrace my father and the pack. I acted in accordance.

Walking through the crowd to my seat, dressed and adorned, I could hear the girls murmuring. Some were cursing themselves for not ending up as my mate. Some were crying but they dared not make it known, my mate was the destroyer.

I marched to my seat after bowing to greet my father. The seat beside him which was supposed to be occupied by the Luna was empty. Alpha Kai would never let anyone take their place since the demise of my mother. Many members of the pack gossiped that he had become crazy over my mother and couldn't accept the fact that she was dead.

A few minutes after taking my seat, watching the entertainers, whom I couldn't enjoy their performances as I was not happy, my mate was led in, dressed in a flowing dress with her face covered.

She was so overjoyed that she lifted her veil before she got to my side and that moment made me realize that I was the only man on this island who didn't love her.

Alpha Kai was also mesmerized. Lorenzo got a standing ovation and thunderous applause from all the men at the scene.

"I greet you, Father," she mumbled with humility and bowed in front of Alpha Kai.

Unable to disregard such beauty and power with a touch of great humility, Alpha Kai rushed forward and gave her a big hug.

Lorenzo turned to me with a bright infectious smile that did not affect me. I reciprocated with a fake smile that didn't pass beyond my face. She sat down beside me, clinging to my arm, and kept teasing me. But everything she was doing only made me angrier.

I was experiencing an anger that I dared not show. I endured and it was very hard for me. We were finally invited to the center stage by an elder of the pack, to recite the vows for the claiming ceremony.

I felt a bit relieved that everything was going to come to an end soon. Lorenzo, on the other hand, was becoming more joyous, probably because we were being sealed together forever. What a big mistake she made.

"I, Teagan Finn, claim you, Lorenzo Nolan, as my mate, confidante, and partner, forever and ever," I said simply as directed by the elder.

Lorenzo smiled and tapped me on the nose playfully.

"I, Lorenzo Nolan, accept your claim to be my mate, my partner, my confidant, my protector, my lover, my world, my Lord, forever and ever," she added irrelevance and the crowd cheered foolishly including Alpha Kai.

From that moment, I started planning to get free from her.

I needed a good reason and I found that after a couple of months.

Like a bonfire, it had spread all over the island and I didn't have any sort of love for my mate. I had been maltreating her to push her off the edge. I wanted her to be angry, to go berserk. That would be a good reason to dump her but Lorenzo didn't fall into my trap, she maintained her respect and humility towards me.

On that day, I got back home and met Lorenzo who was also coming back from an outing.

She hugged me and took me into the house but I wasn't having any of it.

"So where are you coming from?" I asked with anger.

"I went to see Father," she replied casually.

I understood that she had gone to visit Alpha Kai but my anger pushed another question out of my throat.

"And who is that your useless father?" I imagined how Alpha Kai would react if he heard me saying that.

"I mean Alpha Kai," she answers gently without making a fuss. She just had a way of putting her temper under control despite being the popular ghost wolf.

"So it's true that you have been sleeping with Alpha Kai?! Why are you doing that, Lorenzo? Why?!" I yelled and growled without listening to her.

There was a popular line from the members of the pack that Lorenzo would live a better life if she had gotten mated to Alpha Kai instead of me. That was exactly what I was going to use against her.

"You know what? Get the fuck out of my house," I let out in anger. My eyes glowed with anger and I stood my ground to show that I wasn't ready to change my mind.

"Trust me, I did nothing of the sort," she tried explaining herself to me, but I wasn't ready to listen. I grabbed her luggage and tossed it out of the house.

"Please, Teagan, listen to me." She went on her knees, pleading for my forgiveness, even though I was wrongly accusing her.

"If you don't get out of this house in a matter of seconds, the ground will be yours to live in," I threatened her. To show her I wasn't bluffing, I punched the wall behind her, smashing them, and watched as they crumbled to the ground.

"I'll go if that's what will make you happy." She stood up and hurled her luggage into her arms in tears. She left my presence, walking away. She was still stupid despite having such great power.

I slammed the door shut, hard enough for her to hear.

A few minutes later, I heard a knock on my door. I knew it was the stupid Lorenzo, she must have thought that I had become calm.

With anger, I pulled the door open, I was about to yell when the beauty at the door blocked the words from getting out of my mouth.

Bridget stood in front of me in the most beautiful dress I had ever seen, so perfect for her alluring body. It seemed loose but it hung tight on her body showing all her attractive shape. Her cleavage was visible and her plump bosoms were bigger than the dress width around her chest which made them shoot up, inviting me.

I couldn't help but smile affectionately at her.

"Beautiful Bridget, have you been avoiding me? Just come in!" I was already sexually famished. I had stopped being intimate with Lorenzo for a while and it was already telling on me.

I fell in love with Bridget on the same day that I discovered that Lorenzo was my mate. I begged the Moon Goddess on that day to make a slight change but it was already fixed.

Seeing her standing in front of me, coupled with my heightened urge for sex, I lifted her off the ground, took her into my room, and threw her on my bed before jumping over her.

"Wait, Teagan!" She blocked my chest from colliding with hers. "You are handsome and strong. You are a great guy, I want you as well but you have already claimed my sister. We can't do this." She kept resisting me as I loomed over her.

I felt so angry realizing that Lorenzo was the reason why she was resisting me.

"About Lorenzo, please just let's forget about her. I will lay her off." I voraciously moved over her but she stopped me again.

"You must claim me as your mate," she ordered.
