MICHELLE’s POV. With trembling hands, I collect the paper from the doctor and continue to stare back at it. I was not expecting what he said a few minutes ago. How can I be pregnant? I gently open my eyes as the gloomy day dawns upon me. Last night was the most terrifying day of my life and I badly wanted to think it was a dream but here I am on the bed with Nicholas’s side cold and unlaid. Tears well up in my eyes but I try to push it to the back of my head, the divorce papers are lying on the table beside me while the pregnancy report is just by the side.
