Willow Baker POV"Seriously, you're crying now," Rickey said with a scoff. That was the Rickey I knew. It seemed that whatever comradery we had shared earlier had been a momentary thing. I wasn't sure whether I should be relieved or annoyed."Rickey," Sheila said in a disapproving tone.Rickey came up to us, and I was prepared for him to continue berating me when he put his hand on top of my head. I froze. This couldn't be real. There was no way Rickey was patting my head right now.Glancing to the side, I saw that I wasn't the only one to be shocked by this development. The Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess were staring at him like he was some foreign being. The man who joined us stared as his mouth dropped open. However, the one person whose reaction caught my attention was Sheila. She had a strange look on her face as she stared at Rickey. I couldn't tell if she was surprised or not.Suddenly she smiled and said, "This is the first time you've patted Willow on the head." Rickey inst
Willow Baker POV'Where the fuck am I?''I would comment that you're using cursing, but I have to agree. What the fuck.'I was pretty sure I had been in the shade waiting for the others to come back with food and had wanted to rest my eyes. Well, I currently found myself floating in the middle of a white space.'Do you have any clue about what's going on?''I literally said what the fuck. Do you really think I know what's going on?''Point.'As I was trying to wrap my mind around the situation, a figure materialized in front of me. Instantly on guard, I was prepared to transform into a wolf to defend myself against my kidnapper when I saw their face.'What the hell is going on?'Ignoring Winter, I said, "Asa?"The woman in front of me couldn't be Asa. For one, she was way too old to be her. She looked like she was twenty years older. Also, even if Asa had somehow aged that fast, there was no way she could be wherever we were. She was supposed to be safe in the capital. Whoever this im
Willow Baker POV'Wait. That wasn't one of the questions we discussed.''I know.''Willow, what are you thinking? Why are you wasting your question?'I didn't get a chance to answer her, as the Moon Goddess said, "You can, but Asa is too young. Also, she must meet certain requirements, which I can't tell you."So it was still possible to have my questions answered at a later time, but the chances of it happening were slim. That was good to know. Now I had used up my three questions."I will send you back, but there is one more thing I must tell you, or rather ask you, before you go." Giving her my full attention, I waited with bated breath as she continued, "I wish for you to handle Lesli Richardson.""Me?" I squeaked."I understand that this will be a difficult task, but you're the only one I can turn to. I hope you can make him see reason," she said.My mind was still trying to wrap around the idea of trying to help the psycho as I asked, "What if I can't?""If it's impossible, then
Willow Baker POV'I have a bad feeling. Where's Rickey and the Grand Duke?''I can only get a vague feeling of where they are through the bond. The bond still hasn't recovered.'Well, I hoped they were okay. Since the knights knew about our location, it was possible that Rickey and I had been followed, and the person had left right away so as not to get caught. It would explain why we didn't find anyone. The thought caused me to grit my teeth. In that case, it was my fault that we were all in danger. I had to do something to make up for my mistake, but I didn't know what I could do.'Whoa there. Don't do something you'll regret. You and the others have already prepared for this scenario. Let the traps do their job and follow the plan.''Right. I forgot about the traps.''See. What would you do without me?'Instead of giving her an answer, I watched as the knights continued to search the area. So far, none of them had reached any of the traps yet, but they were getting close. My body t
Willow Baker POVWhen we actually arrived back at the castle, I found myself in disbelief. It was hard to believe that we were able to return successfully after everything. I thought for sure something would happen to prevent us from returning.'I have to admit I'm a bit suspicious too.''Right. There's no way things are actually going to turn out okay.'We were guided to a large room with couches that looked oddly similar to the meeting rooms back at the castle in Datumia. As we took a seat, the Grand Duke of Higsnesia stepped into the room.Immediately, the knights bowed. I felt pressured to join them, but I was stuck between Sheila and Rickey. If I tried to move, I would end up hitting either one or both of them in the attempt. As a result, I remained sitting as the Grand Duke of Higsnesia waved the knights to stop bowing and took a seat on the opposite couch. "I'm grateful to see Lady Willow and her companions are safe. I will have to admit that I didn't expect you to escape so qu
Willow Baker POV"I can't allow him to continue his ways," said the Grand Duke of Higsnesia after several moments of silence. "However, I would like to believe he can be reformed."Rickey scowled as he demanded, "That's all well and good, but he literally tortured us for months on end. Sheila has scars that will never heal because of him.""Rickey," said Sheila as she tightened her arms around his.It wasn't enough to quell his anger, and I honestly felt it was justified. I had seen just how hurt she had been when I unlocked her cell, and that was only from what I could see. It was likely there were more horrifying injuries underneath her clothes."I understand how you feel, but I want to at least help him," the man said.'Oh boy, he shouldn't have said that.'Even I was cringing at his choice of words. There was no way this was going to end well. Fortunately, Sheila was quick to react, with the latter keeping a strong grip on Ricky so he wouldn't act.Maverick's mother said, "I sugge
Willow Baker POV"If it's the Moon Goddess's will, then I can't go against it," he said as he bowed his head towards me. Shocked, I stared as he continued, "All I can ask is that you make it as painless as possible."'He really does seem to care about him, but it's a little late.'Staring at the man, I couldn't help but wonder how Asa was doing in my previous life. The Moon Goddess didn't mention anything about her other than what Asa had requested from her, leaving me to guess her circumstances. Was she happy? Did Maverick take good care of her?I had feared that she had been killed by Rose and Shawn or was living a life of servitude, but she must be with her father if she can speak with the Moon Goddess and make a request for my happiness. I would be forever grateful to him.Was she married? Did she have kids?Well, it was fine if she didn't want any. It was her life, and I didn't have a right to influence it since I had already died there. Still, I'm certain any children she had wo
Willow Baker POVSeveral Minutes LaterRickey rested his head on his folded hands as he said, "When I asked you to tell the truth, I didn't expect this."'Wow. I think this is the first time I've seen him like this.''Me too.'He wasn't the only one shocked by my words. Everyone else in the room had the same unseeing eyes after I told them about the Moon Goddess. Honestly, I expected as much. If they hadn't batted an eye, then I would have worried. Finally, Sheila asked as she raised a hand towards my cheek, "Are you okay?"Taking her hand, I said, "I'm fine."She didn't seem to believe me as she said, "You don't have to lie. If everything's too much, you can lean on us.""She's right, Willow," said the Grand Duchess, drawing my attention. "This is a big burden the Moon Goddess has placed on you. Let us help."Seeing how earnestly she encouraged me to rely on them made me smile. It felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, knowing they had my back, even with a goddess invol
Hello everyone. I just want to thank all my readers, especially those who have been following until the end. It's been a long journey. In fact, I believe this book, from start to finish, took almost 7 months, which is a long time. Again, I'm grateful to have all of you. Now, onto what I intend to do next. I have several ideas, but currently I hope to start on Asa Peterson's story. It's going to be about Willow and Maverick's daughter, but with a twist.Instead of being a direct sequel to Luna's Revenge: Willow Baker's Marriage Request, it follows the first life after Willow dies and basically runs almost parallel with it. As such, there might be some spoilers, but it's not required to read both books. They're both standalones.I really hope to get this story off the ground. However, I do have other stories so we'll see how everything works out.Anyway, thank you all again for reaching the end with me. I hope that you all continue following me and have a great day.
Willow Baker POV A Year Later "Willow, are you ready?" Sheila asked as she, Maverick's mother, and Diana stepped into the room. As I stared at the woman in the mirror, I immediately said, "No." My arms shook as I said, "I really can't do this." "What's wrong?" she asked as she immediately rushed over to me. "I don't think I'm ready to get married," I said as I whirled around in my wedding dress. "Willow," Maverick's mother said as she took my hand. "You've already been part of the family for more than three years. We're only making sure you get the wedding you deserve." 'I can't believe I agreed to go along with this crazy idea. Why do we need to have a wedding when we're already husband and wife?' 'I don't have a clue either. You're the one who agreed to it when Maverick asked to marry you, and he even gave you a chance to back out.' I still had mixed feelings when I recalled that incident. It still boggled my mind that he had asked to marry me when we were already married, a
Willow Baker POV"Yes?" I squeaked.I mean, we were married, so I wasn't sure what he was talking about. However, instead of explaining himself, he smiled brightly at me. His smile blinded me and left me in a daze as he slipped the ring onto my finger.Feeling the metal on my finger, I quickly said, "Wait. What's going on?"His smile dropped as he said, "I proposed. Did you not want to marry me?""That's not what I meant," I said as I held both my hands up. "I mean, aren't we already married?""We are, but I want us to be properly married," he said as he stood up. "All we did was sign some papers and file them to formalize our marriage. I want us to have a wedding. It doesn't have to be big. It can just be us and our families or j
Willow Baker POVA Year LaterStaring up at the night sky, I smiled as I held Maverick's hand. I had used to be embarrassed about holding his hand, but now I found myself reaching out to him whenever I can."It's nice out," I said as we continued to walk through the garden. The only sounds were the sounds of the wind and whatever animals were out and about. Basking in the peaceful atmosphere, I still found it hard to believe a year had passed in the blink of an eye."It is," Maverick said with a smile, and he squeezed my hand."So, what is it you wanted to talk about?" I asked."What makes you think I brought you out here to have a talk?" he asked. "I could just want to spend
Willow Baker POVReaching out to the door, I opened it and was greeted by the sight of a gaunt Lesli. The putrid smell and poor condition nearly made me vomit as I covered my nose and mouth."Ah, Willow, you finally came. I was wondering when you would come," he said as he smiled at me. His smile fell when his eyes spotted Maverick right behind me. "Oh, you're here. I didn't ask for you.""I asked him to be here," I said as I held up my arm before Maverick could raise his voice.Lesli tilted his head to one side as he asked, "Why? Did you think I would do something to you?" When I didn't bother to give him a response, he raised his bandaged and chained arms up for us to see. "I can't exactly do anything to you right now.""I'm sure you'll find a way, but that's not
Willow Baker POVUnfortunately, the beautiful moment was ruined as a servant approached us. We stepped away from each other as Maverick frowned. They knew to leave us alone unless it was a serious matter."My apologies, your graces," the man said as he bowed. "The prisoner is acting up and demanding Willow's presence."There was only one person he could be referring to, but before I could say anything, Maverick said, "Willow will not be seeing him. I should have you punished for your insolence."The man quivered beneath Maverick's bloodlust. Asa squirmed at the sensation, but she didn't become upset like the last time she had been exposed to it. I wasn't sure whether I should be glad or upset.Reaching out to touch his shoulder, I said, "Maverick."
Willow Baker POVSeveral Days LaterLeaning back in my chair, I watched with a smile as Maverick played with Asa, who giggled loudly. For once, we were together not because someone had done something to make it happen, and I was quite happy about it.Maverick finally caught Asa, who laughed even harder when he raised her up into the air. She clapped her hands as they returned back to the table where I was sitting. Asa immediately reached out to me.Standing up, I took her from him, and we both settled down to enjoy the tea and snacks that had been left out. Asa tried to reach for the cookie I had, but I kept it out of arm's reach. She was far too young to be eating them.As I nibbled on the cookie while ignoring Asa's attempts to grab it out of
Willow Baker POVSeveral Hours Later'As you were saying.''I still say it isn't bad.'Of course, she would say that. She wasn't the one who had to endure all the stares as I sat next to Maverick. It was like being surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves, ready to pounce at any moment.Maverick scanned the room before standing. "Now that everyone is here, I believe there is something we need to seriously discuss." His face hardened as he said, "You all need to stop harassing us, especially Willow." Immediately, several people looked offended by his words, but he continued on, "This has gone on long enough.""Maverick, I believe you need to watch yo
Willow Baker POVA Few Weeks LaterAfter what had felt like centuries, I had finally kicked everyone out without being rude. I had thought that would be the end of it. Unfortunately, I had been wrong. I had been so very wrong. It seemed like a fire had been lit, causing the family to work even harder to ensure we were a proper couple. Well, at least the women were. The men had kept out of the whole exchange, and I wasn't sure how to feel about that.On one hand, it was better than having all of them gang up on me and Maverick. On the other hand, they weren't helping us and were choosing to stay on the sidelines. Rickey seemed to take particular glee at my suffering.'At least someone is enjoying themselves.'
