Willow Baker POVSeveral Hours Later'You're crazy. I can't believe we're doing this.''It's better than sticking around. You heard him.''Do you even have a plan? I thought we were going to wait and see how things were.''This might be our only chance. I have to take it.''I swear if you get us killed again, I'm never going to forgive you.'Instead of responding to her threat, I focused on my current objective, which was to find the others and get out of there. We had really gotten lucky, as no one seemed to have realized I had gotten out.Despite what Lesli had said to me before he left for unknown reasons, it seemed that the men following him had gotten anxious about keeping me in my room and had decided to move me.It had been the perfect opportunity to escape, and they hadn't been prepared for us to make a move. Admittedly, I had been reluctant to take anyone's life. Unlike with Rose and Shawn, I hadn't felt comfortable killing them. While it was true that they were our captors,
Willow Baker POVThere was another commotion, and someone demanded, "What's going on?""The prisoner has escaped," a new voice said."What? How?" another person asked."She somehow managed to overpower the guards," the newcomer said."We need to get moving. She can't have gone far," someone said.I waited with bated breath as they practically ran out of the room. After several minutes of silence, I made the decision to get out from underneath the table. Poking only my nose out, I didn't smell anyone else in the room.Just in case I was wrong, I poked only my head out. My eyes scanned the area to confirm that the men were all gone and that I was alone. Scurrying out from underneath the table, I considered my options.'We've lost the element of surprise. Now that everyone knows you're out and about, they'll be on high alert.''At least they didn't find me because of it.''You got lucky. How do you expect to move around undetected with the halls swarming with people?'Winter had a point.
Rickey opened his eyes as his ears twitched at the sound of people running around in a panic. Ignoring the pain, he shifted his body so he could stare at the door. He wasn't sure what was going on, but it couldn't be anything good.Whether it was bad news for him and the others, or their kidnappers was the question. Either way, he needed to prepare himself for when they opened the door. What he didn't expect was to see Willow open the door.He was speechless as they stared at each other for several moments. Suddenly, Willow teared up and flung herself at him. He only managed to raise his arms up when she crashed into him.Normally, this wouldn't be enough to knock him down. However, his body's condition wasn't good, so he collapsed easily. He groaned as his head hit the ground, but he forced himself to focus on the person in front of him."Willow?" he asked, as he still couldn't believe she was here right in front of him, even though she was right in her arms."You're okay," she sobbe
Willow Baker POVIt was a relief to see everyone was okay. There had been several moments where I thought I would get caught, especially when I retrieved the keys to the cells. After I had discovered where Rickey was, I had to backtrack since I couldn't open the door. However, I couldn't find where they could have placed the keys. I had the foolish hope that they might keep the keys nearby, but I was out of luck. This meant someone had to be carrying the keys. It was like searching for a needle in a haystack. As I had been about to lose hope, I had heard footsteps coming towards me and ducked behind some crates. Two men had stepped inside, with one of them holding the coveted keys."I can't believe we're down here," one of them said."It can't be helped. They said we should move the prisoners," the other said."It doesn't make sense. Didn't Lord Lesli say to not move them and keep them in the dungeons?" the first asked."I'm just doing what I'm told. If they say to move them, then we
Willow Baker POV'I really think we're going to make it.''What did I just say?''I'm serious here.'We had been walking for what had to be almost an hour with no signs of anyone. That wasn't to say we didn't hear voices or people moving, but we had yet to actually encounter anyone. At the rate we were going, we might even escape the place without being caught. If that happened, I would undoubtedly thank the Moon Goddess by offering up the best meats and asking Maverick if it was possible to make today a holiday.'That's a bit much.''How else would you explain our luck right now?''I'll admit it is a bit unnatural how our luck has been, but you can't go around creating a holiday because of it.''So you don't find the offerings part?''That's obviously fine.'While I was undeniably happy and thankful for our good fortune, I wasn't letting my guard down because of it. There was only so much luck could do, and we were already pushing it.We had already abandoned the idea of finding a ma
Maverick Peterson POVAs soon as dawn broke, I used magic to teleport us as close to the barrier as possible. It was frustrating that I couldn't send us closer, but it couldn't be helped as the magic from the barrier interfered with my magic.'Maverick, it hasn't even been a day. You haven't rested.''How do you expect me to rest when Willow's life might be in danger? I only agreed to wait a day. A day has passed.''You're being irrational. You know very well they meant the actual twenty four hours and not when the day ended.''I was already generous in letting Willow stay there for the night.''Maverick, she won't even be at the barrier waiting for you since she is probably thinking you understood the time.''She can settle whatever business she has and quickly come back. They should know we're here.''Maverick, think of the men. They haven't gotten to rest since returning from the border.'This time, I couldn't just push away his words as I glanced at the men I had gathered. As knig
Willow Baker POVSeveral Hours LaterI groaned as I regained consciousness. Everything hurt, and I had to wonder what Winter had done with my body. Hopefully, Winter did a good job dealing with the people after us."Willow, thank goodness you're awake," said Sheila as she loomed over me."What happened?" I croacked.Sheila helped me sit up as Rickey said, "You've been out for a few hours."Hearing his words, I nearly choked on my spit. I wanted to rush over to him and demand what he was talking about, but I was in too much pain to move. Right now, I was barely able to stand on my feet.Instead, I scanned my surroundings and saw we were in a building. It didn't look like where we had been kept imprisoned, but it was possible we had been moved to another location if we hadn't found a place to hide from our pursuers.Considering everyone was together and no one seemed overly panicked, I figured we had probably found a safe place to hide. However, there was one detail that was bothering m
Willow Baker POVAn Hour Later"Ready?" Sheila asked as she held my hands.Uneasy, I squeezed her hands, and she squeezed back. Eventually, everyone had reached the conclusion that they should keep moving as soon as there was an opening. The chances of us being caught by staying in one spot had been considered too high.Afterwards, we had to sort out the groups, which way to go, and where to meet up. It had taken several minutes of arguing before we had settled on the following pairings. I was to go with Rickey, the Grand Duchess was paired with Sheila, and the Grand Duke would go with the man.Not everyone had been happy with the results, but we didn't have much of a choice. The reason why we had decided on these pairs was to ensure each pair had at least one person with angel blood as a safety precaution. The man sent by the Grand Duke of Higsnesia had admitted he wasn't sure what would happen if they traveled without someone with angel blood. After all, they shouldn't have been the
Hello everyone. I just want to thank all my readers, especially those who have been following until the end. It's been a long journey. In fact, I believe this book, from start to finish, took almost 7 months, which is a long time. Again, I'm grateful to have all of you. Now, onto what I intend to do next. I have several ideas, but currently I hope to start on Asa Peterson's story. It's going to be about Willow and Maverick's daughter, but with a twist.Instead of being a direct sequel to Luna's Revenge: Willow Baker's Marriage Request, it follows the first life after Willow dies and basically runs almost parallel with it. As such, there might be some spoilers, but it's not required to read both books. They're both standalones.I really hope to get this story off the ground. However, I do have other stories so we'll see how everything works out.Anyway, thank you all again for reaching the end with me. I hope that you all continue following me and have a great day.
Willow Baker POV A Year Later "Willow, are you ready?" Sheila asked as she, Maverick's mother, and Diana stepped into the room. As I stared at the woman in the mirror, I immediately said, "No." My arms shook as I said, "I really can't do this." "What's wrong?" she asked as she immediately rushed over to me. "I don't think I'm ready to get married," I said as I whirled around in my wedding dress. "Willow," Maverick's mother said as she took my hand. "You've already been part of the family for more than three years. We're only making sure you get the wedding you deserve." 'I can't believe I agreed to go along with this crazy idea. Why do we need to have a wedding when we're already husband and wife?' 'I don't have a clue either. You're the one who agreed to it when Maverick asked to marry you, and he even gave you a chance to back out.' I still had mixed feelings when I recalled that incident. It still boggled my mind that he had asked to marry me when we were already married, a
Willow Baker POV"Yes?" I squeaked.I mean, we were married, so I wasn't sure what he was talking about. However, instead of explaining himself, he smiled brightly at me. His smile blinded me and left me in a daze as he slipped the ring onto my finger.Feeling the metal on my finger, I quickly said, "Wait. What's going on?"His smile dropped as he said, "I proposed. Did you not want to marry me?""That's not what I meant," I said as I held both my hands up. "I mean, aren't we already married?""We are, but I want us to be properly married," he said as he stood up. "All we did was sign some papers and file them to formalize our marriage. I want us to have a wedding. It doesn't have to be big. It can just be us and our families or j
Willow Baker POVA Year LaterStaring up at the night sky, I smiled as I held Maverick's hand. I had used to be embarrassed about holding his hand, but now I found myself reaching out to him whenever I can."It's nice out," I said as we continued to walk through the garden. The only sounds were the sounds of the wind and whatever animals were out and about. Basking in the peaceful atmosphere, I still found it hard to believe a year had passed in the blink of an eye."It is," Maverick said with a smile, and he squeezed my hand."So, what is it you wanted to talk about?" I asked."What makes you think I brought you out here to have a talk?" he asked. "I could just want to spend
Willow Baker POVReaching out to the door, I opened it and was greeted by the sight of a gaunt Lesli. The putrid smell and poor condition nearly made me vomit as I covered my nose and mouth."Ah, Willow, you finally came. I was wondering when you would come," he said as he smiled at me. His smile fell when his eyes spotted Maverick right behind me. "Oh, you're here. I didn't ask for you.""I asked him to be here," I said as I held up my arm before Maverick could raise his voice.Lesli tilted his head to one side as he asked, "Why? Did you think I would do something to you?" When I didn't bother to give him a response, he raised his bandaged and chained arms up for us to see. "I can't exactly do anything to you right now.""I'm sure you'll find a way, but that's not
Willow Baker POVUnfortunately, the beautiful moment was ruined as a servant approached us. We stepped away from each other as Maverick frowned. They knew to leave us alone unless it was a serious matter."My apologies, your graces," the man said as he bowed. "The prisoner is acting up and demanding Willow's presence."There was only one person he could be referring to, but before I could say anything, Maverick said, "Willow will not be seeing him. I should have you punished for your insolence."The man quivered beneath Maverick's bloodlust. Asa squirmed at the sensation, but she didn't become upset like the last time she had been exposed to it. I wasn't sure whether I should be glad or upset.Reaching out to touch his shoulder, I said, "Maverick."
Willow Baker POVSeveral Days LaterLeaning back in my chair, I watched with a smile as Maverick played with Asa, who giggled loudly. For once, we were together not because someone had done something to make it happen, and I was quite happy about it.Maverick finally caught Asa, who laughed even harder when he raised her up into the air. She clapped her hands as they returned back to the table where I was sitting. Asa immediately reached out to me.Standing up, I took her from him, and we both settled down to enjoy the tea and snacks that had been left out. Asa tried to reach for the cookie I had, but I kept it out of arm's reach. She was far too young to be eating them.As I nibbled on the cookie while ignoring Asa's attempts to grab it out of
Willow Baker POVSeveral Hours Later'As you were saying.''I still say it isn't bad.'Of course, she would say that. She wasn't the one who had to endure all the stares as I sat next to Maverick. It was like being surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves, ready to pounce at any moment.Maverick scanned the room before standing. "Now that everyone is here, I believe there is something we need to seriously discuss." His face hardened as he said, "You all need to stop harassing us, especially Willow." Immediately, several people looked offended by his words, but he continued on, "This has gone on long enough.""Maverick, I believe you need to watch yo
Willow Baker POVA Few Weeks LaterAfter what had felt like centuries, I had finally kicked everyone out without being rude. I had thought that would be the end of it. Unfortunately, I had been wrong. I had been so very wrong. It seemed like a fire had been lit, causing the family to work even harder to ensure we were a proper couple. Well, at least the women were. The men had kept out of the whole exchange, and I wasn't sure how to feel about that.On one hand, it was better than having all of them gang up on me and Maverick. On the other hand, they weren't helping us and were choosing to stay on the sidelines. Rickey seemed to take particular glee at my suffering.'At least someone is enjoying themselves.'
