Was I surprised? No. I was not surprised but instead, I got more riled up that the criminal eventually turned out to be part of the council like we suspected.

I dropped the knife and sat on the chair so I could think properly.

It was not like we get all the council arrested right away because we had no grounds yet, to do that.

And judging from his statement, it was just a person he received orders from, but something still told me that person could not do it alone, others must have had a hand in it.

At some point, I got up from the chair and started heading out. "Handle the rest, Julian." I instructed and left with Jordan trailing behind me.

I was void of what to do next. The protective wall I had built for myself was gradually crumbling, more time was also being wasted.
