Lora pov.

I slammed my hands against my window, the frustration boiling inside me threatening to tear everything apart.

As I looked outside, I saw the moon shining bright against the dark sky, illuminating the world with a silver hue. The faint smell of burning leaves from a nearby bonfire wafted into my room, mixing with the fresh scent of rain from earlier.

I put my hands in my hair and pulled it away from my eyes, trying to clear my head. "I was so close," I muttered to myself, feeling perplexed and defeated.

As I approached my mirror, I noticed my reflection staring back at me, looking disheveled and exhausted.

"It's a shame your son is no longer with you, but don't worry, I'll help you finish what you started, Catherine, I will assist in ending your son's life."

I laughed out loud as I walked out the door, jumping out the window. It was a liberating feeling, as if I was shedding my skin and leaving my troubles behind.
