"Who sent you?"

Richard's face softened, his eyes reflecting a mix of guilt and concern. He knew deep down that Melissa was right, but his responsibilities and commitments weighed heavily on him. He sighed, searching for the right words to convey his predicament.

"I know, Melissa, and I wish I could stay. But this business trip is crucial for our company's future, and I've already made arrangements," Richard explained, his tone filled with regret. "I've been trying to find a solution, though. I've hired a cook who will be staying here with you while I'm gone. She'll take care of everything and make sure you're safe."

Melissa's eyes widened in surprise. A cook? She hadn't expected that.

As Melissa processed the unexpected news, she couldn't help but feel a mixture of relief and curiosity. A cook staying with her could provide some much-needed support during Richard's absence. It would ease her worries about managing household chores and meals while also ensuring her safety.

"Richard, a cook? That's...unexpected," Melissa said, her voice filled with intrigue. "Who is this person? Will I be able to trust her?"

Richard smiled reassuringly, understanding Melissa's concerns. "Her name is Aunty B, and she comes highly recommended. I've done thorough background checks, and she has excellent references. I trust her completely, and I believe she will take good care of you and the house."

Melissa felt a glimmer of hope stir within her. Perhaps having someone around, even if it was just a cook, could provide a sense of security and companionship during Richard's absence. She nodded, realizing that this might be the best solution for both of them.

"Okay, Richard," Melissa conceded, her voice tinged with a mixture of resignation and acceptance. "If you've gone through all this trouble to ensure my well-being, then I suppose I can agree to your trip. But promise me you'll keep in touch every day, and you'll ask to make sure to keep in touch.”

And a few minutes later she had to bid him goodbye with a heavy heart. She couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease that came with Richard’s departure, especially now that her life seemed to be unraveling at the seams.

The cook, whose name was Aunty B, proved to be a godsend. She was a kind and caring woman, quick to make Melissa feel at ease and comfortable with her presence. As they sat in the living room, sipping on tea and chatting, Melissa couldn’t help but feel grateful for the woman’s companionship.

“Don’t worry about a thing, dearie,” Aunty B said, patting her hand. “I’ll take care of everything while Richard’s gone. You just focus on taking care of yourself and that little one of yours.”

Melissa smiled weakly, feeling a lump form in her throat. A part of her couldn’t help but feel resentful towards Richard, for leaving her at such a crucial time. But she knew deep down that he had no choice, and that he was doing what he had to do.

—Melissa's Revelation

Melissa returned home feeling a mix of gratitude and apprehension. Aunty B had proven herself to be a warm and caring presence, but there was something about her that Melissa couldn't quite put her finger on. As she settled into the living room, she couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that there was more to Aunty B than met the eye.

As Melissa tried to strike up a conversation, she studied Aunty B's features more closely. There was a certain ethereal quality about her, a glow that seemed to emanate from within. Her eyes had a depth that held ancient wisdom, and her movements were graceful and deliberate.

Unable to contain her curiosity any longer, Melissa mustered up the courage to ask, "Aunty B, I hope you don't mind me asking, but there's something about you... something different. Are you... human like me?"

Aunty B smiled knowingly, her eyes twinkling with a hint of mischief. "Well, dearie, let's just say I'm not exactly like you. I belong to a different realm, a realm where magic and enchantment intertwine with the everyday."

Melissa's eyes widened in astonishment. She had just seen someone from her realm.

“You are a werewolf?” She questioned hoping she was.

“Yes and Melissa I came from the realm to persuade you to return home.” Aunty B said, making Melissa almost stumble down from her sitting position, why was everyone suddenly able to find her.

“Who sent you?” She asked with a frown.

“Nobody sent me, I just need to protect you, that was my only mission for now.”
