"He is in coma".

All the board members and co workers that joined in the meeting were stunned at what she had just said , yes they all heard when Richard said Melissa had to take care of everything but they never believed it would be this way…making her the CEO was like giving her overall authority over everyone.

One of the board members stood up with a weird smile, “how are we sure we can trust you with a company worth millions?” He questioned Melissa but all Melissa did was smile before also standing up.

“Because in just these few months I have contributed more than you can ever contribute and I am not trying to brag but that’s the truth.” Melissa said with so much boldness, just then another board Member stood up.

“We can only believe and trust in your legacy if you successfully secure a very important client and even more respect if he decides to sign a contract with this company sooner.” She said to Melissa as Melissa could understand that they were all trying to trap her.

“I can do that with my eyes closed.”Melissa said, causing a few murmurs within the crowd.

“We have the perfect client for you Melissa.” The same lady said.

“Hit me.” I teased.

“Mr Avalor Brandon.” The name alone sent shivers than my vein as my pen fell from my hand and also my confidence followed in that fall.

“Avalor.” I stuttered with a smile, why did it seem so much like a plan even though I was more than aware they only said that because he was their most important client at this rate.

“He is one of the richest clients to ever glaze in our company direction and the CEO was initially trying to secure a contract with him, why don’t you help him bag that contract.” They all said in unison…I staggered backward in fright, this couldn’t be happening, Avalor was trying to haunt me down even one the human realm what have I even done to deserve this.

“I….” I paused in confusion, the only thing that ran through my head was how I could reject the offer but then that was the only way I could protect Richard’s company from this money hungry colleagues and I had already promised to take care of his company,

“I….I would make him a loyal client.” I said while I squeezed My hand tightly in anger as some of the workers noticed I wasn’t really myself.

Melissa took a deep breath, doing her best to compose herself after the shock of being tasked with securing a contract with Mr. Avalor Brandon. She knew that this was a test, a way for her colleagues to assess her abilities as the new CEO. But the weight of the situation was heavy on her shoulders, especially considering her past history with Avalor.

As she began to take her seat, a voice rang out from the back of the room. It was one of the employees, holding a phone to her ear. "I'm sorry to interrupt," the employee said, her voice trembling with concern. "But there's something you all need to know. Mr. Avalor Brandon...he's in a coma."

The room fell silent. Melissa's knees felt weak, and she gripped the edge of the table for support. Images of Avalor flashed through her mind - his charm, his power, and his determination to ruin her life. And now, he was fighting for his life.

The board members exchanged worried glances, realizing the gravity of the situation. They had unwittingly thrust Melissa into a tangled web of personal and professional challenges. Avalor's condition changed everything. It was no longer about securing a contract; it was about life and death.

Melissa took a deep breath, pushing aside her own fear and anger. She knew that despite their differences, she couldn't ignore the humanity in this situation. "We need to send our thoughts and wishes for Mr. Brandon's recovery," she said, her voice filled with genuine concern. "As for the contract, it's on hold for now. This is not the time to focus on business. Let's come together as a team and support him however we can."

There was a collective nod of agreement in the room. The employees and board members understood that despite their professional ambitions, there were moments when compassion and humanity should prevail.

Melissa felt a weight lift off her shoulders as she realized that her colleagues were not just money hungry sharks, but individuals capable of empathy.

She felt even more happy and at ease with herself after realizing she won’t be encountering Avalor anytime soon and if possible she won’t even see him as she planned on changing location immediately Richard was back from his business trip.

The meeting was soon over after they all finalized everything and everyone as usual waited for Melissa to leave before they left but Melissa was unable to pull herself up she felt so weak that’s when she realized the unborn triplets in her were pulling her down because their father Alpha Avalor is in coma but then she began to wonder what had made him get into coma so easily , he is a kind of weak person neither was he poor in this realm.

She then realized maybe Lucas went after his life and succeeded in silencing him.

“Melissa, are you unable to stand up?” One of the employees asked and she nodded positively as two other women employees joined in to help her thinking she was slowly going into labor due to how weak she had become.

“Please let me go.” She pleaded with the children who were pulling her down, she never knew this was how it would affect her if she as far away from Avalor for too long and now him being comma was like he caused commotion in her belly..they all tried to pull her up and finally did but she immediately lost consciousness placing everyone in a state of panic.
